Hi Jim,
Thanks for the follow up. We loved our stay at Volcano Ranch! Daizy and Marlon were wonderful and made us feel right at home. When you pull up to the ranch, it's almost like a mirage! Their children were so sweet and we enjoyed a few meals together while we were there. We did manage to catch 3 fabulous sunsets and one sunrise, we also took a horseback ride down to the lagoon, it was amazing how warm the water was! Granada was a good day trip and Orvin was a very knowledgeable guide, he helped us find monkeys in Las Isletas and we dined at the best steakhouse in the city. Thanks again for all the great information, we will definitely be back again for a visit in the future. Best, Sarah |

Visited here last month for horse rides but ended up staying overnight cause the teenagers really loved the place. Quiet, green and wide open spaces. Incredible scenic views across Granada and the crater lake. Onsite caretaker family was great ! Recommended highly ! |

| Found this ranch while backpacking through Granada with a couple of college buddies. About 20 minutes from the city, so the trip was very easy. We arrived at the ranch in the morning and rode the horses around the property, neighboring town, and down to the base of the volcanic crater lake! After an hour of swimming in the cool blue water of a volcanic crater(!!!) we returned to the house and ate lunch overlooking the lake. Easy, cheap, and enjoyable daytrip from Granada. Ask for the horse named Lightning if you want a speedster! |

Stayed here for 6 days in January 2009. The place is truly a spectacular natural setting, the ranch sits on the crater rim of an extinct volcano. The views are incredible across the country of Nicaragua. One can spend the whole day just relaxing and watching. When I was there, the ranch house area was just being finished up to open as a rental. It is immaculately clean, nicely furnished. The pool was great ! Rode horses every morning and evening. The bedrooms are all air conditioned, but the main house is not. But the house is much higher elevation and there was always a breeze from the crater lake.
Highly recommended !

| This place is awesome! From any point on the property you can see just about everything the area has to offer. A crater lake at your feet, Granada, Moombachu volcano, tropical jungle, lake Nicaragua, wild life, and the two towering Calamate trees adjacent to the pool. My girlfriend and I had stayed at the ranch for 3days/2ngts during the end of May for her birthday. Jim was our host/taxi driver/travel planner and the man who had made everything a snap. Our first morning we awoke to an Apoyo lake breeze whisking through our double door room, Howler monkeys going off like roosters, and a magnificent sunrise stripping glows atop the waters. Then we went out on horseback! |
