We just finished a one-week stay at the Kensington Executive House. Our Son’s wedding was on Sept 12, 2009 and the extended family (7 adults) stayed at the house for a week. This is an excellent location in a quiet part of Kensington. The neighbourhood was quiet both day and night, with just a little extra traffic on the street only around 4-5 PM during the week as the locals take a short cut from work to get away from the annoying Calgary traffic. When we arrived the accommodations were in first-class shape, all the beds made with fresh linen and duvet covers. The house has a new front load washer and dryer so no need to bring extra clothes, as washing is a breeze. The fridge was stocked with the essentials including a good bottle of Champagne and fresh floral arrangements were left in the living and dining rooms. The kitchen has a good stove and is fully equipment with cooking utensils, plates and cutlery. There is a gas BBQ on the front porch with table and chairs. The house easily accommodated our herd; two large bedrooms (one downstairs and one upstairs) and another two good sized upstairs. It’s a great location with only a two-block walk to 10th Street for groceries and the Kensington restaurants. Just one comment if you have less mobile adults with you, the stairs are narrow and the antique bathtub in the downstairs bathroom can be a challenge to get into. All in all excellent value and we would definitely recommend a stay here.
