just returned from a stay at the old arundel farmhouse. we found the house very peaceful and relaxing. a great getaway in the forever green irish countryside with beautiful views of dunmanus bay, the peninsula and the surrounding mountains. we especially loved the light filled sunroom. perfect for the rainy days.... a good book, a cup of tea and a fantastic view from the wall of windows. a lovely farmhouse with lots of nice touches to make you feel right at home.

We have liked all our VRBO places but this one was special. The house is outstanding. The combination of an old farmhouse and very fine remodeling is just wonderful. It is very comfortable with all the amenities. Then the setting is spectacular. The view of the bay, especially from the lovely conservatory is a dream. The fox that visited us two or three times was a charming addition to the rural farm setting. If you like to be comfortable and have all the delights of a lovely countryside this can't be beat. The hospitality is as if you were staying in a friends home.

Beautiful house, fabulous modern kitchen! My kids loved being able to run around freely outside around the house and to see cows in the long driveway! It was perfect for our family - there was even a bookshelf full of kids books. I slept in the sunroom - very comfortable. My parents took the master bedroom and private bath and my kids loved their room. We spent many days at Barleycove Beach - a perfect place for kids of all ages. I'm still dreaming about the crab sandwiches in the truly picturesque village of Crookhaven. Although the house was beautiful and filled with lovely, comfortable furniture, it wasn't too fancy for the kids - they were right at home. Thank you!

Our family had the wonderful opportunity to spend ten days at this splendid home. The property itself is warn, fully equipped and attractivley furnished. The locale overlooking Dunmanus Bay is spectacular. You are in the wilds (of both the mountain and seashore variteies) in this peaceful home. A particular treat is the peat and coal fueled fireplace. This farmhouse is on the outskirts of a tiny village, but is only about twenty minutes to Bantry, an attractive full-serve city located in the most southwesterly reach of the Republic of Ireland. There is much to see and do on the Sheepshead Peninsula, but the best part is snuggling up with a good book by the fireplace with a loaf of soda bread or spottred dog baking in the over.

I spent with my friends three days in this very comfortable house, charming and luxurious. We were into biking, hiking and birding. Next time we will add to that list some reading and writing. The house is a treasure! Untouched silence and nature abound you. And yet, charming pubs at 5 minutes walk. Highly recommended. Jan Bless, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
