It's been a month now of wishing we were still there. The place is fantastic! Watch out for the sea turtle - he likes to come out of nowhere when you are snorkeling. I think my wife and I will come back without the 3 kids next time so that we can enjoy it that much more.

We just returned from a two week stay at Hale'Aha Kai. We were there for our 25th Anniversary and Deborah made it a very memorable one for us. The house is not just a house, it is a HOME !! It has every amenity that you will need on your holiday plus more. The home is very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. So much so, that we wanted to take them home with us. We had turtles swimming out front many mornings and a couple of evenings we had whales jumping out of the water on the outside of the reef. We enjoyed being able to go snorkeling and kayaking anytime we wanted and many days that is all we did. Deborah has also done the job of looking for activities to do, for you. She has a bulletin board with pamphlets and discount coupons and has many books with suggestions for what to do and see on the island. We took her advice on many things and were not disappointed on any of them. Unfortunately we did not meet Deborah on our trip but we talked to her many times. She was always available for any questions we had. If you are on this site looking for a "home away from home", you may as well stop looking, because you have found the best valued home on Oahu. If we ever manage to get back to Hawaii, we know where we will be staying. Thank you again Deborah for making our 25th Anniversary such a special one. Mahalo!!

After looking at hundreds of properties to rent for our trip to Oahu, I got goosebumps when I came to the Hale Aha Kai website. I knew instantaneouly that it was the place for us and it was even better than I imagined!! We just returned from 9 days on Oahu to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Being the nice parents we are, we took our four kids with us(ages 6-15) and spent 3 days in Waikiki and 5 glorious days at Hale Aha Kai. It was heaven on earth from the breathtaking location to Deborah & John's '10' star accommodations (on a scale of 1 to 5 stars!!) I can't thank the Urban's enough for opening their fun & lovely home to us. I can't wait to return! Mahalo!!

Aloha, we had a wonderful and relaxing time at the property. It was exactly as described on the website. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Waikiki area. All of the extra amenities at the house were great. We look forward to vacationing here again. Maholo. Jeff & Angela Johnson |

Just returned from our week of leisure at Hale Aha Kai. What a great place to just unwind, relax and rejuvinate. Our kids had a great time playing on the beach, skimboarding, boogie boarding, and sea kyaking. The home was everything promised and the website, although very good, can't do justice to actually being there. We highly recommend this property and appreciate Debbie's attention to detail and our needs (even while we were there). Thanks for a very memorable vacation, we look forward to our next visit.

Stayed at this house from May 1-12, 2006. This is our second stay at this wonderful property. Felt right at home and more comfortable this time with where everything was and how to get there! Anybody checking out this property needs to know they will not be dissapointed, such peace and tranquility, the ony way to go if you are going to spend your hard earned money in Hawaii. Everthing is taken care of like you were in your own home and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place has been a godsend for my husband and myself as we have very hectic lifestyles, we will be visiting a third time in 2007. Deborah the owner thinks of everything and wants to make sure your visit is everything you expected. Thanks again Urbans Mahalo The Gieslers |

Four women after tax season on a much needed vacation. This was the greatest and will never be topped. Each year the four of us, take time out for ourselves and relax, this year was the very best. We felt right at home as soon as we stepped through the door of this lovely home. Everything and more was right at our finger tips. We have been in several vacation homes, but this one exceeded all our expectations. We went into the city one day and could not wait to get back to our area of the island. This is my third trip, and for sure the best. The residents were so friendly and we felt right at home. Plenty to do on the windward side on the island. Deborah took care of us so well, never before have I had a homeowner so concerned about our comfort. There is just no possible way to describe the house, the beach and the area. Hale'Aha Kai is and always will be our picture of heaven on earth. We spent so much time in the yard and on the beach, hours staring at the ocean on the coconut raft. We all came home(against our will) rested, tanned and with a different frame of mind. Thank you, Deborah and John, for sharing your wonderful home with us. No disappointments, this trip was the ultimate and your lovely home made this all possible.

I and my wife along with my brother and his family enjoyed a great visit. This in spite of the wettest March on record. The location was just what we hoped for. Right next to the beach with hardly any pedestrian traffic on the beach, even though all beaches are considered public in Hawaii. Great swimming and snorkeling. Used the kayaks and boogie boards. It was only a 40 minute drive to Honolulu but we only went one day to see the market and visit Waikiki. Really enjoyed the house had everything we needed and more. Number of things just a few minutes away, grocery stores, Cultural Center, horseback riding, Macadamia Nut Farm outlet, etc.
Will be back.

My wife and I and 4 developmentally disabled adult men took a vacation in paradise when we stayed at Hale'Aha Kai. My nonprofit,Adventures Elite, was founded with the mission to take disabled folks on great vacations. I chose Deborah's home after looking at many; it looked like the best, and it surely was fantastic. Cozy, inviting, sweetly decorated, with the best backyard in the universe! Deborah has been a pleasure to work with. The guys (Chuck, John, Bill, and Joseph) had a supreme time relaxing at home, wading in the surf, fishing, watching great films from the terrific DVD library, and eating great bbq prepared by my wife and myself. We explored much of the island, we got out every day for hikes, shopping, drives, and general exploring. But we moved slow, truly on Hawaiian time. It was awesome. We will be back to Hale'Aha Kai!!!!!

We just returned from a weeklong stay at Hale Aha Kai (March 19-26). It’s hard to express the joy and great experiences we had while staying there in just one paragraph. With all the attention given to the homes decor, amenities and other details, you can see that the owners have a lot of love for this home and care about ensuring their guests have the best stay possible. We BBQ'd and enjoyed dinners on the deck, only a few feet from the ocean. We used the kayaks. We sunbathed on the beach next to the house….we did it all! Waking up early in the morning to view the gorgeous sunrise was a real treat. We were close enough to the city to visit museums and tourist activities in Waikiki and close enough to the North Shore to watch the surfers and big waves, but most of all we loved going back to "our own private, beachfront retreat" when we wanted to relax. There is nothing better than being able to make yourself an exotic cocktail in the kitchen and then walk out the back door to the sound of the ocean and the sight of a beautiful white sandy beach with turquoise waters. Thanks Deborah.

Visited Feb. 19~26, 2005. This is the perfect place to just kick back and relax. The owners have lovingly furnished this vacation home with absolutely everything necessary. We’ve stayed in numerous condos and rentals through-out our many vacations and we’ve never been in a place that was more accommodating! Deborah really goes the extra mile to see that her guests are happy! We had a great time at Hale Aha Kai and I still dream of being there. Gazing at the beautiful sunrise over the turquoise-colored ocean was the perfect way to start each day. We’ve already recommended it to others and hope we have the opportunity to stay there again sometime!

We stayed in this great beachhouse Feb. 6-13, 2005. Wonderful to wake up to beautiful sunrises over the ocean. Quiet beach. We had (2) 6-year olds - great to play in the sand and water. Everything that is needed is supplied in the house; great kitchen, BBQ, A/C units, towels, even suntan lotion, Band-Aids, travel guides, etc. We left 80 degree sunny weather there, for 40 degree rainy weather in Utah today; sigh. We miss this beachhouse experience already. Excellent value. Thanks, Deborah !

We stayed in paradise on Oct. 17 thru Oct. 23, 2004. Every little detail at this house is remarkable. It's like being at your own home. From the great library of books, cd, dvd's and video's to the wonderfully equipped kitchen.
The view is out of this world. It is diffently like being on your own beach. We may have seen a total of three people walking on the beach during our entire stay. The sunrise is a must see. Thanks Deborah for making our 25th anniversary special by sharing your incredible home with us.

Aloha, Deborah we absolutely loved your home in punaluu. We were there from 6/28 to 7/10 2004, and I hated to leave. My family of 4 were very comfortable there, every detail had been thought out by you. When you see pictures on the web sites and read about the rentals you usually take it in stride. However, your home was MORE than we could have ever hoped for. The view was amazing, the details in the home,( comfortable beds, linens, huge TV's, Oh and the kitchen!!) it truely was a home away from home. I was amazed at how few people ever walked down the beach, it was like having a private beach all to ourselves. We snorkeled right out from the house and saw numerous fish and even 2 sea turtles! The kayaks were a big hit with my boys, Tim and I took turns going out with them and the view you get from the water was a great as the view from shore. I felt safe and comfortable there and we are already planning our trip back. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. Mahalo Linda Macklenar

I stood at this home in June of 2003. I do have to say it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stood. The house is relaxing and quiet, you feel like you are on your own little island. The best place to eat around there was about 20 minutes up the road at Giovanni's shrimp. The weather was great and the scenery from the deck of the home was unbelievable. If you are considnering staying here you definitly would not regret it. Eddie Maldonado

Ohhh what a pleasure!!! We just love the islands of Hawaii and have always stayed in hotels until this time. The sunrises were right in the middle of the backyard. Got some really great pictures. The awesome lush mountains were all around us. We saw turtles, manta ray, and what we think was a shark out by the breaker reef. Went snorkling, swimming and took nice walks along the beach. The deck was a great place to sit and chat at night, especially when the moon was full. The home is equipped with everything you need, from totally stocked kitchen, cable tv, nice stock of movies and music to choose for your taste, plus beach towels. The bedrooms have great themes & decoration, along with the living room's great view of the ocean and the beautiful furniture. We recommend staying here. We were here with another couple all celebrating our anniverseries. Just pack your swim suit & a few clothes. The washer & dryer are a plus. Plus your book for places to eat(including the menu) who could ask for more!!! There is more than we can write. Would love to come back. Mahalo, Rob & Mary Stayed 7/7-7/15/03
