We had a wonderful long weekend in Charleston that was due in part to the fabulous accomodations at the carriage house. As two couples, we were all very comfortable and had plenty of privacy. The interior of the carriage house is beautifully restored and the outside spaces are landscaped perfectly to offer a private garden and patio in the middle of town. We really enjoyed our stay at the carriage house and would recommend it to others.

Wow! What an amazing transformation. I saw this historic property prior to its two year renovation and historic restoration. The owners didn't miss a trick. From the vaulted ceiling in the living area which makes the space so light and airy to the added convenience of laundry facilities, the comfortable furnishings, fabulous kitchen and beautiful bathrooms, and spacious welcoming bedrooms. It is simply outstanding. The location is perfect and after a day of exploring the wonders of Charleston how nice to come home to the lovely garden patio or the rockers on the porch with a glass of wine. It's simply the best at a bargain rate! Kudos to our wonderful host and hostess.

My husband and I loved our stay in Charleston, due in very large part to Kira and Dewey and their beautifully finished, private, spacious, extremely well appointed cottage. The location of the cottage is excellent, with very easy access to a fun (and easy to use) shuttle system that takes you all over town. (No need for a car, unless you want to explore outside the city.) Kira hit the nail on the head with her restaurant recommendations to us. We'll be back, and we wouldn't think to stay anywhere else.

Restored and beautifully modern! We enjoyed being able to walk to the Historic District and markets and be able to come "home" for breaks. Our English cousins enjoyed their stay also. And the little things were such a delight, like the fresh flowers, extra pillows, and small amounts of sugar, salt and pepper, provided in the kitchen. We would gladly do this again.

This is a wonderful spot, a true oasis in downtown Charleston that is close to, but not in the chaotic center of, every place you would want to be. Kira and Dewey, the charming couple who own the place, and who are attentive but never intrusive, have done a wonderful restoration. When you're not out and about you'll enjoy being at home. The way it's set up, you and your pet (if you bring one like I did) will have plenty of privacy. I was kind of worried about parking at first, not quite believing that off-street parking was as easy as it was cracked up to be, but they were right and I was wrong. It couldn't have been easier or more available. And if you're a total anal retentive, K&D don't mind you parking in their driveway, if you don't mind hassling with the gate. Bottom line: Next time I go to Charleston this will be the first place I try to book. Even more telling, when I move to Charleston, as I plan to do, I will count Kira and Dewey among my friends. |

The Carriage House is located within walking distance of the Historic Urban Plantation of Charleston, as well as the best shopping and restaurants, Once we settled into the clean, comfortable two bedrooms we were able to explore the city of Charleston. One of my favorite walks is down to the Battery to see Rainbow Row. On the way back you could stop fore a latte or look for antiques. The hosts who own the Carriage House are most helpful in suggesting an excellent restaurant for dinner or you could use the barbeque in the yard to cook in. All in all we LOVED this vacation rental. It is clean, comfortable and exceptionally well located. |

The carriage house is roomy, light and airy, and as comfortable as home. Great shower! The notebook full of restaurant menus and the local grocery discount card were a nice touch and much appreciated. The location is perfect .... easy access to shops, restaurants, historic churches, and the beaches. The live oaks lining Ann Street make for a beautiful vacation spot in the middle of the city. I highly recommended it for anyone visiting Charleston.

I recently spent 3 nights in the fantastic Ann Street cottage. There were three of us and we were more than comfortable in the cheerful cottage. We walked downtown every morning & it was an easy stroll. In the evening we would usually take an inexpensive rickshaw ride (wrong shoes to walk in). We also hit the beach in the afternoon (which was only about a 20 minute car ride away). I highly reccommend the Ann Street Cottage & hope to stay there again in the future.

This is the great home away from home we have been seeking for our trips to Charleston with our furry family members! Very convenient location. Walk to all downtown restaurants and shops. Spacious bedrooms provide enough room for the family to have their own space. 10 minute drive to beaches. Kira, Dewey & Bentley are just great! They are very accommodating and able to provide insights to activities and restaurants. We cannot wait for our next stay in this fabulous place!

Classy & charming! This house is perfect for family or friends, but plenty of room for privacy. Convenient to King and Market Street, where you can visit restaurants, shops, parks and the ambience of downtown Charleston. Yet, quite and confined for relaxing and enjoying the simple life. The Shower in the Master Bathroom....is ohhh so heavenly!

Loved, loved, loved it. GREAT location -- super close to fantastic restaurants, shopping, museums, historical sites uptown and walking distance to sights further downtown. Beautiful, comfortable almost luxurious accommodations, perfectly pet friendly, gracious hosts, off street parking -- this place has it all.

**5-stars** This the best place to stay in Charleston at any price, hands down. The owners have done an impressive job making the cottage a classy, comfortable showplace with all the comforts of home - with the added benefit of a superbly convenient location. It is easy walking distance to historic sites, museums, nightlife, restaurants, College of Charleston, everything.

What a fabulous cottage! We were shocked at how gorgeous this newly renovated historic cottage was. We comfortably slept 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It has top of the line appliances including a washer and dryer!! Granite counters in kitchen and baths, and much more. It also has it's own little fenced in yard. you can walk everywhere, too!!! It's a great location in a quiet nice neighborhood!!!!!!!!

I'd start by indicating this will be my first choice for accommodations in future trips to Charleston. The 'cottage' is well equipped and the owners are close by but are not in the way. Laundry, a GREAT shower and living space makes this place so much nicer than a hotel downtown. Walking distance to so many venues downtown and to the College of Charleston. A ride over the bridge places me 10-15 minutes from beaches and golf. I’m reviewing my calendar as I type in an attempt to reserve the cottage again. Obviusly, I am please with my visit.

What a wonderful place! My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend at the end of March and were very comfortable. The cottage is clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. It was also a very easy walk to most shops, restaurants and even the aquarium. Quiet location right next to all of the action. I am certain we'll stay here again in the future.
