We enjoyed our week in your Beaucaire apartment.John and Lisa were pleasantly efficient and helpful as we settled in and out of Hotel Luxembourg. It is indeed comfortable and well-equipped with kitchen, bathrooms, washer, garage space, computer and plenty of books. J It was also an excellent place to just reside. We enjoyed walking around---- finding the PO, the multiple markets, the fine castle, the special baker, the bottle recycling container, and, of course, the dragon in the square. Every evening we walked along the dike, listening to conversations in French, in Arabic, in other languages as the stars came out. It seemed that we were truly in the France of the medieval days as well as in 2009. Thank you for making an easy introduction to such a fascinating place. Best wishes to John and Lisa and to you both. Sincerely, Ann and Pug |

What a wonderful place to stay! We found the apartment in Beaucaire quite spacious and offering all the amenities of home (English-language television, Internet access, modern kitchen and the two bathrooms a major asset!) PLUS a lovely veranda on which we took our leisurely meals while enjoying a pleasant breeze from the Rhone. The town of Beaucaire itself gave us a sense of being in the midst of authentic small town France, surrounded by local people instead of tourists, yet we could reach such traditional tourist destinations as Arles, St. Remy, Avignon and Les Baux surprisingly easily by car. We were delighted to find that the train station in Tarascon just across the bridge (a 15 minute walk) gave us easy access to many locations (such as Marseilles and Avignon) by public transportation as well. A magical experience for us - we do so look forward to visiting again.

We had a fantastic time in Beaucaire...made perfect by staying in your wonderful apartment. Travelling with 2 teenage daughters, we appreciated the extra space of having 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets (and of course the computer). The clean, modern new kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed. We loved the huge terrace and had most of our meals on it. The location was great...we could walk to the outdoor market as well as to the grocery store, post office, tourist information centre etc. We loved the sleepy atmosphere of Beaucaire...it truely did feel like a piece of Heaven! |

Just wanted to tell you what a great time we had in Beaucaire and your cheerful, spacious apartment. Traveling with three 16-y.o. girls was heavily weighted towards seeking out markets far and wide -- and their sleeping in until noon whenever possible -- but the location was perfect. Besides Tarascon, we also visited St. Remy, Arles, Les Baux, Pont du Gard, Aix-en-Provence, and Avignon before heading to Paris. I loved the old windows and shutters and the quiet view across the street, the great shower and having two toilets! Our daughter loved that it was close to the water and was so photogenic (she's into photography). The girls especially liked having access to a computer (and, of course, would have liked to have access to the full range of Sky TV...Can't say that I missed it, however.)

What a wonderful apartment! Hotel Luxembourg is a stunning historical building with a beautiful terrace. The apartment is spacious, extremely comfortable and all of the amenities (computer, washing machine, parking area) helped us maximize our time for exploring the sights of the region. We were there for 7 days in May, with near perfect weather, and especially appreciated the genuine, non-touristy aspect of the town with its lively market and beautiful canal. Great vacation and we can't wait to return.

| We spent 7 days just before Easter in the apartement and thought it was great. Beaucaire was quiet but very attractive and medieval, in the process of renovation to reveal some very characterful buildings. Enough bars, shops, restos, and markets to keep us busy, and easy access by bus or train to Arles when we wanted crowds. We arrived by TGV to Avignon and taxied from there, but on the way back went on the dedicated bus from Tarascon, feeling more confident about it. WiFi much used by Facebookers, all other facilities good, and decor pleasant without being fussy. |

We really enjoyed staying at Hôtel Luxembourg. The flat is delightful!
The weather was a bit mixed (two days of rain, two days beautiful one day mixed etc) so it was especially nice to have a comfortable, roomy, well equipped and warm place to come home to. We found the old town of Beaucaire very interesting and the history fascinating – it was easy to imagine how it looked a few hundred years ago.
We rate this flat as 'Highly Recommended'. |

| Exceeds all expectations. This apartment is Large and Comfortable, very Roomy. High ceilings, good beds, new 21st century kitchen, new bathroom and second toilette/sink. Everything works including computer, etc. Huge windows open on the green open Field of the Fair (Champ du Faire) on the banks of the Rhone. You are in medevial Beaucaire behind a city wall with narrow streets, castle ruins, and all Provence before you. Walk, bike, motor to your hearts content, and come back to your happy lodging, and enjoy your own private balcony terrace to boot. It was warm in winter, and thick walls will help keep it cooler in summer I am sure. I'm a big fan of this large comfortable apartment! |

It's our last day in Beaucaire and I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment. It has everything an American needs in France, although it's so comfortable I sometimes forget where I am. The rooms are so spacious, the TV is in English, and having a computer so handy made it convenient to stay in touch with friends and relatives. My friend and I LOVED the area, although we didn't realize how many stores and restaurants would be closed this time of year. On the positive side, however, we had very little traffic and parking was a breeze. I plan on returning sometime in the spring/summer so I can experience the color of Provence. Hopefully your apartment will be available at that time. Thank you.

| An excellent apartment. Lots of room for all of our party, which varied from 4 to 6. adults. The terrrace (whilst not entirely private) was a marvellous place to spend the evening. Beaucaire is a lovely place to base yourself for exploring this part of France. We spent 2 weeks here and visited some of the touristy sites (Arles, Nimes, Avignon etc.) We were lucky when we went to Uzes as the bull running was on. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. |

Hello from two jet-lagged but happy occupants of your flat in Beaucaire. I just wanted to thank you for renting us such a lovely place. It was comfortable, spacious, full of light and color even on the (unfortunately) grey days.
Beaucaire turned out to be a rather interesting town. We enjoyed walking around both Beaucaire and Tarascon, and found the location to be incredibly convenient for our travels either north or south.
Although I have been in France many times, I did not know Provence at all, and now that I have experienced a bit of it, I will absolutely have to come back again (and again).
The Forrestals were very helpful and as I said above, the apartment is even nicer than your descriptions and photos showed online. I would certainly be glad to serve as a reference for anyone thinking of renting, and thank you again for allowing us to share your Beaucaire world. Caroll

We enjoyed our stay in December/January 07/08 in this lovely apartment in Beaucaire. Not only is the apartment very well situated in the heart of Provence with easy access to the beautiful towns of Nimes, Avignon, Arles and the Camargue but it is also very nicely furnished and offers everything needed to make a stay convenient and memorable. We also had the good luck to meet the owners, Madeleine, Barney (and Gloria, such a sweet lady!)and received lots of useful information over a glass of local wine! | Very happy with the apartment, which was roomy, comfortable, quiet and well located (if a little tricky to drive in to!). Also very well equipped with plenty of reading material, reference books for the area, and access to the internet. Although not a lot to see in Beaucaire itself, it's a handy base for exploring the area - we had some great visits to Avignon, Arles, Pont du Gard, Chateau de Beaux, etc, etc, which were all very interesting with great scenery. A large Carrefours supermarket was easy to get to on the way back in to Beaucaire after a day's sightseeing, and perfect for stocking up and enjoying great meals back at the apartment - very handy if you have kids and find eating out a challenge. The apartment also catered well for children with high chair and cot. Lisa and John were very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience very enjoyable! |

The apartment met all of our expectations. It was comfortable (including the bed), spacious and bright, quiet, clean, and well equipped. Once we found our way, the access was quite convenient and the parking easy. Our usual style is to have lunch while out touring and then have a simple dinner back at the apartment. This pattern worked well on this trip. We did have a nice moules and frites lunch on the canal in Beaucaire and a good restaurant lunch at the La Provencale in Tarascon. Lisa and John were very helpful and quite pleasant to deal with.
The apartment was well located for our travels with easy trips to Arles, Nimes, Pont du Gard, Avignon, and St. Remy. Somewhat farther afield, but quite manageable, were Vaison, Orange, Aix, Carpentras, Les Baux, and Aigues-Mortes. Beaucaire and Tarascon were pleasant and interesting towns to explore as were a couple of medieval chapels and the Roman milestones in the local country side. We did most of our food shopping at the Carrefour where we could stop whenever returning to Beaucaire from the west.

hi madaleine and barney We had a fantastic time in Beaucaire. we were amazed at the history of the area and it was such a good base. The brochures in the apartment were very helpful...unfortunately several of the restaurants close by were closed for holidays but the ones we found were great. There is a delightful place just down the road towards the canal that had live entertainment on the Saturday night.
The apartment was extremely comfortable and having internet access was good for keeping in touch with home. thank you again and we will certainly recommend it to others.

| We had a great 4 nights at the apartment. It was very spacious and comfortable. We loved visiting the bar at the square round the corner before dinner and found the town to be friendly and interesting. The Sunday food market in the square was lovely. Beaucaire was quite different to a lot of places we visited but some of our happiest memories are from this untouristy town. We feel very lucky that we found such a nice place to stay in a really interesting French town. We're sure we will return. |

Dear Madeleine and Barney,
We had a great time in Beaucaire and thank you so much for having us.The apartment was all we hoped for and our breakfasts on the terrace were amazing. Luckily we had good weather, and just walking around Beaucaire and Tarascon and visiting the markets was very enjoyable. To be able to keep up with news via the internet is a real plus too.
The location is great and we visited places like Avignon, Arles, Aigues Mortes, Nimes, Pont du gard, Uzes, Les Baux, Mont Ventoux, Gordes, Menerbes and St Remy.
We would recommend your apartment to anyone visiting the area.
Overall a fantastic, albeit too short, experience.

Hi Barney and Madeline
Just a short email to say thanks very much for the apartment in Beaucaire. We really appreciated the use of the email as it has been notoriously difficult to find email facilities in the areas we have visited - especially with the long lunches and public holidays every 5 minutes it seems!
In retrospect we should have booked 2 weeks as we have run out of time and energy to do all that we had planned but still it's nice to leave something for next time.
The apartment has been very comfortable and well-appointed.

We had a enjoyable holiday at the Beaucaire apartment. It was fun to witness the local reaction to the wins by the French football team in the World Cup. The town of Beaucaire went wild! The apartment was as good and as well equiped as the website shows it to be, and parking was easy. The cable TV with all the English language programs was an enjoyable suprise. I especially enjoyed the computers, and I was able to use my laptop and Skype to phone home. We have visited this part of France many times and it is one of our favorite areas. Being based in Beaucaire, we were able to explore the surrounding countryside in great detail. The basket of maps and guide books was extremely helpful. We will recommend the apartment to our friends and we hope to stay there again someday. Charles A. Robinson, Lodi, California |

Dear Madeleine and Barney, We had a really terrific time in Beaucaire. It's such a pretty place, and so well situated, with all of Provence and the Camargue within easy reach. We loved the appartment - so spacious, and full of light - and with excellent heating, which we had cause to be grateful for, as you're probably aware! Loved the parking area by the Casino, too - always stacks of space available, and so reassuring to know it's watched - there were. Hopefully we can rent it again in March 2007. Many thanks. Dick and I had the perfect holiday week in Beaucaire. The apartment was charming, parking was easy and the local markets (in Beaucaire or nearby towns almost every day) were spectacular. This location was ideal for easy day trips and Beaucaire itself was not touristy so it felt very comfortable. Barney and Madeline have thought of every need for their guests; the kitchen, the internet access and the abundant tourist information and suggestions were very much appreciated. | During the week we rented "My Beaucaire" apartment, we were in daily contact with Jim and his wife who were constantly concerned with our well-being. The clean, well-equipped, very comfortable apartment was well situated for easy day tours to Nimes, Arles, Avignon, Les Beau, etc. A car is definitely necessary, but parking was convenient and safe. One must be prepared for a "natural" Provencial village unmanicured for the usual tourist crowds and with minimumal local activities and shops. Although we experienced record-breaking heat, we were furnished with enough fans to make the apartment comfortable. The terrace and view of Tarascon castle across the river was wonderful, adding to our joyful week. |

We have just returned from a 4 month trip to Europe and must say that the month we spent in Beaucaire is a highlight of our trip. We agree with all the comments made regarding the comfortand convenience of the flat and we were most impressed with the efficient management of the the whole setup.(booking, payments and contact with Fluer) While Beaucaire was not as "French" as would be expected, we found the history of the town, the multicultural nature of the town and the location all to be perfect. We were most impressed by the markets of the region, especially those of St Remy, and thoroughly enjoyed talking to the locals and being a part of rural France. We have already spread the word of this apartment to many of our friends and hope one day to be able to return ourselves .

We'd just like to say that your flat was brilliant and exactly what we wanted with regard to location, size, comfort, etc., etc. (and let's not forget the price - though perhaps I shouldn't have said that!). We were very impressed by the fact that it looks just like the photos, what you see is most definitely what you get... We hope that our first stay in your flat will not be our last. We were both of the opinion that it was the best holiday flat we've ever stayed in, and we would recommend it to anyone without reservation. The wall hangings are fantastic by the way. We returned from France yesterday evening, having spent several days in Paris after leaving Beaucaire. We all had a wonderful time - the apartment was perfect. You certainly have done a lovely job of making it a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. I know that all four of us would happily return whenever we were able. Fleur was fabulous too - our flight down from Paris was cancelled, so by the time we finally arrived in Beaucaire we were many hours later than originally planned. She was there when we arrived, directed us to the apartment and gave us a very warm welcome. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation. Thanks again for helping to make it so! (March 2005)

The other posted comments all ring true. Beyond that the owner even upgraded the ADSL so it could handle my Vonage internet phone. I used one of the 3 bedrooms as an office for a working vacation - not disturbed by my kids in the other rooms.
The terrace is private meaning that it's for your own use, but it is off a a common-access walkway in the building. It's next to, but doesn't lead into the appartment. I mention this because I couldn't see this from the photos and had wrongly thought that I might be able to open the door and let little kids wander in and out. Of course, this is hardly a subtraction; How many other places give you your own large terrace?
Mostly Beaucaire is a great base for visiting the surrounds. But itself is interesting. It's not a cute tourist village. It's a "real" southern town. There are centuries-old private mansions from when there was wealth in town, some faded facades and basic shops(but watch out for opening hours). When needed, we found a doctor a few blocks away. A Carrefour hypermarket is a few minutes away by car. |

A great market in Tarascon on Tuesdays, even greater one in Arles on Saturdays. Don't miss the Souleiado Museum in Tarascon! All in all, a marvelous find.

| We spent 5 nights in October 2004 as part of a 3-week trip through southern France with another couple. We found the accomodations perfect for two couples. Fleur greeted us warmly and did all within her power to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. We really appreciated having lunch on the terrace, the access to high-speed internet, being able to wash clothes and listen to favorite CDs on the stereo while we relaxed with a good book. Shopping at the markets and cooking dinner with such fresh ingredients was a nice change from dining out every night. It became our home away from home, and then we had to leave! We would definitely return -- and stay longer. |

| We have just spent a week in Beaucaire. We have rented apartments throughout Europe, the US and Australia. This apartment is much larger than it looks in the photos. The owners and the caretaker are geuinely caring and generous with support and information. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. We travelled with two children under 4 years old - not a party normally welcomed by rental apartments, but the owners assisted us with a cot and the caretaker surprised us with a highchair and toys. A beautiful apartment well located to all of Provence with owners who genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. |

i just wanted to let you know how much we loved our stay in beaucaire. in spite of how well the website describes the apartment, it was still shockingly beautiful when we got there. we were a group of 5 college graduates on a 3-week "senior trip" that included paris, prague, and hiking in interlaken, switzerland; yet beaucaire stood out as perhaps the highlight of the trip. it was great to escape the hostels we had been staying at for the rest of the trip. we visited the roman aqueduct, avignon and its castle and famous bridge, nimes and its amphitheater, the beach an hour to the south, and a winery, and generally had a really relaxing time. on a 3-week "senior trip" that included paris, prague, and hiking in switzerland, beaucaire stood out as perhaps the highlight of the trip for its unique way of keeping you busy and entertained but not tiring you out. thanks from me and my friends! |

We are a family of 4 (15-year old daughter, 10-year old son). We just (June 2004) spent a lovely week in Beaucaire as part of a longer trip. It was the nicest vacation rental unit I have ever rented. The beds were new and comfortable (and my daughter loved having her own room, not usually true on our vacations), the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils (we largely ate by shopping locally and cooking in the apt; the shopping was itself an education for the kids), the computer made everyone happy. We had rented a car for the week (parking is not a problem in Beaucaire) and from Beaucaire, we kayaked under the Pont du Gard, and visited Nimes, Arles, Les Baux, and Avignon. It was quite a successful trip.

Excellent! We all really enjoyed our two weeks in the apartment, which was very comfortable and well equipped. Fleur was very welcoming especially after a long hot day of travelling. The welcome pack, cot, highchair and especially the toys were very well received (Thanks Fleur). Renting the apartment from Tuesday to Tuesday was also great as it substantially reduced the cost of the flights. Broadband PC and phone were also very useful in keeping in touch with French relatives! Suggestions: 2 sets of keys would have been really useful, housing the cooking utensils nearer to the hob and a bread knife! Overall: Excellent apartment that is comfortable and well equipped. Thanks

Your apartment was beautiful. I've stayed at rental places before, both in the US and Europe, and yours was the one that felt most like home. The furniture, the dishes, everything felt good - neither too fussy nor too "rental-ly." We appreciated all the brochures and travel books. The location was great, and we were happy to have a central base for exploring from Avignon to Nimes to Arles and the Camargue.

| I've stayed in Beaucaire on two occasions already, once in summer and once in winter. Both times were extremely enjoyable. The apartment invites relaxation, and the town is a dreamscape of architectural beauty. I had wonderful, inexpensive meals in several restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. I hope to go back soon and often. |

Not only is the apartment spacious and the view splendid, the kitchen is well situated and stocked with gear, the amenities (Internet access, washing machine) all work fine, the bedrooms are private, and the location is quiet and perfect for myriad day trips in the Rhone region, Provence, points south such as Narbonne and north such as Orange.
Walking distance to boulangeries and to the Sunday market is a breeze, as is the distance to a couple of nice restaurants and a fabulous olive oil production facility.
And the owners make a cute couple! |

Beaucaire is a lovely unspoiled town in a wonderful location. Pretty amazing! The apartment is both comfortable and has character. The owners do a great job at making visitors feel at home. We enjoyed our holiday enormously and hope to go back. |
