"Hi Jim & Mary Ella:
Our five days on Captiva (and Sanibel) went the way of the Green Flash - too fast!
We visited many of the places you recommended and took a few backroads tours of our own.
The temperature warmed enough by Wednesday for us to make use of your beach chairs.
The Royal Shell facilities, as expected, were immaculate. More impressive was the way private residents cared for their surroundings. There was not litter anywhere. The beaches were pristine.
We caught two sunsets, one at Redfish Pass and another along side the golf course.
The condo was convenient and comfortable. We slept well, ate all our breakfasts and a couple of dinners "at home" and spent many hours spying on the birds perched in the trees over the marina. Your bottle of white and our bottle of red evaporated quickly on the balcony.
Thanks for your hospitality."

"We had a wonderful time in Captiva. It was the perfect place for us and the condo was great. We spent a lot of time sitting on the lanai watching all the wildlife in the harbor. Having the pool so close was also great.
We spent a lot time combing the beach for shells and brought a ton home with us. We had no problems getting from the airport to the island and everything was ready for us when we got there - very stress free.
We managed to hit most of the major restaurants on Captiva and a few on Sanibel. Our favorites were The Mucky Duck and The Island Cow.
We found everyone at the resort to be friendly and very helpful. It was everything you promised it would be and we really had a great time.

"Hi Jim, We loved Captiva!. The condominium was a perfect place of retreat for us. We sat on the beach most of each day and enjoyed your lanai at night. We loved the lights and the sounds of fish jumping out of the water. We had one partically rainy day but that was the advantage of being in a condo instead of a hotel room. It was very comfortable and we just sat and relaxed.
Captiva was exactly what we needed to slow down. It was very hard to leave on Tuesday. Thank you for your help and advice. We tried all the things you suggested. Thanks also for the wine. That was a fun welcome gift and very kind of you. I hope we can return some day!"

"We certainly did enjoy ourselves in Captiva for it is a beautiful place. The rooms were well cared for and clean. We also definitely appreciated the chairs, umbrella and dishwashing stuff. The condo was also in a convenient and beautiful location (as well as the cruise)...
I would have to say it was quite depressing taking the rental car back to the airport to Cincinnati. I assure you that we will be back.
Thank you for all your help with assisting me in booking. We had a blast. I will look you up when we decide to come back."

"We had a wonderful time at your condo and Captiva. The weather was perfect for us. We kayaked on Sunday while the wind was calm and chartered a boat on Tuesday to go shelling on an island, which was #1 on our top ten list of perfect days.
We loved both The Mucky Duck and The Green Flash, went to each place twice.

"Thank you for a terrific place to stay. We loved the island, the beaches, the pool, and the restaurants. We left your condo and spent the next five days in South Beach. That is quite a contrast. I don't have any suggestions for improvements.
Would we return again? Yes, yet we are the type of folks that like to go different places, so we won't likely repeat this exact experience.

"We did have a wonderful vacation. The condo was perfect for us- we really enjoyed the view from the lanai. We found several great places to eat and did enjoy the Green Flash but I think our favorite was Doc Ford's on Sanibel even though it was a little bit of a drive.
We are hoping to return to Captiva next winter, perhaps for two weeks - are you taking reservations for '09 yet?
I'm not sure what your weather has been like but here in Wisconsin we have so much snow I don't think it will all melt until the 4th. of July - sure wish I as still in Captiva!!!"

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed your well furnished
condo with the great water view of the marina and
channel to Pine Island Sound. Had no problem storing
my kayak at the bike rack, and launching it at the
complext to paddle and fish around Chadwick's Bayou
along the totally undeveloped, natural mangrave
shoreline. The birds put on quite a show every day.
The pool was unusually large and very well maintained,
just as you said. The sun deck and arbors were great,
even providing shade when wanted. We enjoyed the
beachfront that was a very short walk away for sand and
surf and shelling.
We found parking near the golf course at the north end
and enjoyed the walk around the end of the island to
Redfish Pass and jetty there which is quite scenic.
Fishing was off from the fronts this May, but still caught
6-7 different species, and enjoyed a few redfish fillets
on the lanai.
Will try to get back down again from South Carolina as
work permits. Myrtle what? Hilton who?

Dear Jim & Mary Ella:
We had a wonderful time! Your condo worked out very
well for us and it was lovely. The pool was great and
plenty big enough for all the guests that were there last
week. We didn't spend as much time on the beach as
we did at the pool, the but the beach was beautiful. (No
algae like we saw on Sanibel in late Jan.) We didn't
miss the use of the resort trolley at all because Captiva
Village is such a short walk from the condo. We really
enjoyed walking to dinner, the Captiva store and the
other shops.
....
I'm so glad I happened upon the VRBO website. Our
whole vacation experience was terrific. It didn't hurt that
the weather was warm and sunny the whole week.
Thank you for your help and interest in making this
such a great experience. We don't know yet what our
plans will be for next year, but you may well hear from
us again.

Words cannot express how much fun we had in Captiva
and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay at your condo. You
have it decorated so nicely and the view from the lanai
is just wonderful. We actually saw a rainbow the last
night we were there! We appreciate you making our
stay so great. The shelling was wonderful and we took
you advice and tried the Green Flash restaurant, which
turned out to be one of our favorite meals.
We have already recommended your condo as a great

Mr. Terry Payne has given us permission to cite the
following from an email he forwarded to us following
his stay in our Captiva condominium:
"Thanks for checking with us. We had to leave a day
early but we had a great time while we were there. We
fished mostly around the point and in the harbor area
and caught Sheepshead one after another. We also
caught a few Trout and a few I had never seen before.
We fished in Ding Darling and the causeway but didn't
catch much.
The weather was perfect and the shelling was
good....Of course we ate at the Key Lime Cafe, RC
Otters and my favorite, The Mucky Duck for sunset.
We saw several gators, including the one in the
pond at South Seas. My son was in Heaven!
I would like to stay in touch and stay there
periodically.
Thank you again for your terrific follow up and
attention. My son and I truly had a great time while
staying in your home away from home.
