I want to rave about this owner and the house and its location. There is so much to offer in this location. First of all, the house is located in a quiet neighborhood where my kids could ride their bike to the beach or the fishing pier. We loved that the house sat on a cul-de-sac, so the kids could skate board and bike without much traffic. The house is directly next to the tennis courts too, and we made good use of them, as well. The neighborhood is directly adjacent to the cape henlopen state park, so we often spent our evenings after dinner biking or hiking in the park. The kids loved the nature center and the trails to the ocean located within the park. There is even a day camp for kids in the park if you sign up early enough to take advantage. the park also has kayaking trips, hayrides and campfires. The house itself has ample room with its 5 bedrooms. The two master suites came in very handy, as we were vacationing with multigenerational family members. Some were edlerly and could not go upstairs - and they had everything they needed on the first level. The kitchen was well equipped. The owners thought of everything. the Owners were very responsive when we had a few minor house issues (overhead garage door came off tracks, vacuum cleaner broke) and immediately a new vacuum was on its way and a repair man was scheduled to fix the garage door. We were very pleased that the owners made it easy to enjoy our vacation and not be stressed with the details. as i said, there was a lot of room in the house, but we spent ALL of our time in the sunroom. We LOVED that room. perfect for relaxing and having coffee , reading your paper and watching the kids out in the cul-de-sac. our second favorite was the second level deck. Watch the sunset over the bay while you are eating dinner up there. oh - and there was a little pond out in the back yard - we bought the kids some nets and they caught minnows, tadpoles and frogs all summer. on the other side of the neighborhood was the cape may/lewes ferry terminal. we would ride our bikes there, grab a quick bite, play on the playground, play putt-putt and play in the arcade. I'm telling you, it was the perfect vacation. A little ways up from the ferry was a dairy queen for an ice cream fix - what more do you need? If you rent this house and deal with these owners, you will not be disappointed. |
