We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Eleuthera. The people were very friendly and helpful. The beaches, water, and snorkeling were great. We would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to just relax and enjoy the weather and beaches. If you want jet skis, nightclubs, and lots of entertainment, you are on the wrong island. But, if you want great views, uncrowded beaches, good rum, and an interesting cultural experience, this is a great spot.
The Bluemoon location is wonderful. You will have your own private cove with a rocky shoreline and sandy bottom for swimming. The beach area above the rocks is sandy and a great place to lounge. There are steps into the water so you can walk right in. The house has a great layout for 2 or 10 people. The bedrooms are separated from the living area which is nice for those people who want a little privacy. The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is not luxurious but it is very comfy. Be prepared for more of a third world experience if you go. Food is expensive and the grocery stores are small. Most stores are closed on Sundays and holidays. Rum is cheap - beer is expensive. You can bring in some provisions and we would recommend that, especially if you plan to cook at home or want specific foods. Renting a car is a must if you want to experience the island. Get a good map, they are available at some of the stores and the Rainbow Inn has the best one for $10. Even with a map, it can be a challenge to find places at times. Hope you enjoy the place as much as we did. |
