We rented Almost Heaven for two weeks, May 2nd to 16th May 2009. Our friends who had never been to America could not believe their eyes when we entered the property. It was beautifully kept, clean and tidy and much more than we expected. It is a credit to the owners Tom and Judi.
We had a fantastic time in Big Canoe it is difficult to describe the property, we feel to give the house the full justice it deserves you have to see it with your own eyes.
We hope we will be returning to Big Canoe next year, without a doubt we will book Almost Heaven, which was heaven to live in. Tom was very helpfull and telephoned us on a couple of occasions to recommend various places to visit.
we travelled 4,500 miles that day and it was well worth the journey. We score Almost Heaven and Tom Ten out of Ten

| We stayed at Almost Heaven this past weekend and it was even better than we remembered from our previous visit in this house. The accommodations are perfect - plenty of kitchen utensils, towels, etc. The king size b'ment bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept it! The view is wonderful. It is a great layout for two families. This was our second time in Almost Heaven and we will be back! |

| We stayed with three other couples at Almost Heaven to attend a Wedding. The house was perfect, lots of room for all of us and easy to find kitchen utensils and a few items we forgot to bring. Deck was comfortable and guys enjoyed watching football and hooking up to the internet without any problems. We are trying to find another weekend when we are all available to come back. It is such a short drive to get away and feel so comfortable and relaxed. |

The weekend at Almost Heaven was just that...almost heaven. Not one indidvidual walked away without wonderful memories to cherish and take with them for a lifetime. Tom and Judy every branch of our armed services was represented at your home and we all appreciate your hospitality and kindness. Our week here far exceeded expectations. Not only was the house very clean, well furnished, and filled with amenities but it was an excellent location with a back path to the lake and pool and water slide. That was very convenient since I had three grandchildren there and did not have to load them into a car every time we wanted to swim or canoe. We made an excursion to nearby Amnicalola Falls. The grocery store was convenient for quick trips. I would go back to this home for another trip without a second thought. Tom and Judi were excellent to work with and very accomodating.

Myself and my family travelled from Ireland and England and stayed at this beautiful house on our way back to Atlanta Airport. We were only there two nights and wished it were more.
It's a lovely clean house with plenty of space and is very cosy.We would highly recommend it.We felt right at home the minute we walked througt the door.

| My Ladies' Tennis Team came to Big Canoe for the weekend; we loved it. The home is lovely, we were happy to just sit and sip and enjoy the views. Accomodated 9 of us perfectly, the kitchen is fabulous and the fireplace was used nightly, along with the 8 person hottub. The tennis is great and there are indoor courts for rainy days. We found the restaurants VERY good and reasonable too. We are planning a trip again, in the fall and will definitely stay here. It is so appropriately named...ALmost Heaven |

| "Almost Heaven" served as a comfortable, spacious setting for our annual family reunion. Several rooms spread across three floors provided more than enough choices for cuddling with a book, dancing to music, playing games, or chatting by the fire. The 10 of us made good use of the hot tub, bbq grill, baseball diamond, and hiking trails. It was an enjoyable vacation made even better by the O'Connor's graciousness. |

| The O'connor's house in Big Canoe was all we expected and more. Our golf group had a wonderful 3 days there (even though the creek course ate us for lunch)! The foosball table was a huge hit, and the 3 outdoor decks were great to sit and look out over the water and mountains. We'll definitely try to make it back there! |

Tom & Judi are great! From the time I emailed requesting information on the house, until we arrived back home, they have gone above and beyond to be helpful. Directions, recommendations for restaurants, etc. We were there from 9/15/05 thru 9/18/05 for our son's wedding at the Chapel. On Thursday night, there were 5 of us to arrive, by Friday night, we slept 16 (by adding air mattresses and fold away beds), and Saturday we were back down to 6 (finally peace and quiet!) The house accomodated all of us well - that was no small feat considering everyone had to be dressed and at the rehearsal on Friday evening by 5 and most of us were at the Chapel by 3 p.m. on Saturday for pictures prior to the 5 p.m. wedding (and numerous out of town guests dropped by to change into dresses, suits, etc.)
The house was well stocked, very clean, and comfortable. All of the guests commented on the comfort and quality of the furnishings, including the mattresses! (which was important to all of us, by the time we got to bed, we were exhausted).
It was really hard to leave on Sunday - I was still deer hunting - everyone but me had seen deer. I guess I get to go back again soon to try again!
If you are looking for the PERFECT house for your vacation, etc. - this is it!

| My family was trying to find the "perfect place" to have a 50th Wedding Anniversary/Celebration and family reunion. We spent months trying to determine if there could actually be such a place....we found it. "Almost Heaven" is the perfect name for our five day stay. From the very beginning, Tom and Judi O'Connor were extremely helpful and a great resource with directions and advice for all of our scheduled day trips and activities. We rented several houses and condo's at Big Canoe to help accomodate our families. We went hiking, swimming, whitewater rafting, rode a train, horseback riding, golf, exploring the beautiful Georgia mountains, played games at night, and enjoyed every minute of every day at Big Canoe. The Appalachia Grill served a wonderful dinner for the 50th Anniv. celebration. The home was beautiful, spacious, had wonderful views, and plenty of room. This is a trip we will never forget. If you're looking for a similar experience, we highly recommend staying at the O'Connor's home. |

After staying at this beautiful home in March of this year, we just had to return for a long weekend in August. Four couples enjoyed this beautiful home, hot tub and private bedrooms each with their own bathrooms! The kitchen was wonderfully equipped. We loved the walking trails and the view is spectacular. We enjoyed lots of games and ate too much good food. The well stocked kitchen helped make our weekend memorable. Tom & Judi made certain we had directions, instructions on the use of everything and even had a card and surprise gift for my wife's birthday awaiting our arrival. We loved it and we are looking forward to planning another trip here soon.

WOW! From the first moment we stepped into this adorable house we felt comfortable and welcomed. We had a wonderful time as a family and we were in walking distance to everything and had a great time together. We slept like babies in big comfy beds! There was plenty of room for all of us to hang out and be comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to make meals and we didn't have to worry about anything. The house was decorated as if it were our own home and we felt so comfortable. We will definately be back again! Tom was very very helpful and never complained once b/c of all our phone calls asking questions about Big Canoe. He even offered us an extra day at b/c it rained a few days. | Every year our family has a "family vacation" and have done this since the late 70's. This house is one of the very best in which we have stayed. This includes everything from Cape Cod, Isle of Palms, Rehoboth Beach, Williamsburg, VA and many too numerous to mention. Tom O'Connor has been more than helpful and kind. He arranged for us to also rent a house two doors away from him in order to accomodate our whole family, gave us perfect directions to both the facilities and a church of our faith. The only drawback that we found was the winding roads in Big Canoe, but they were not sufficient to keep us from returning. Thanks once again for helping our family to enjoy each other's company. |

He showed concern for us several times during our stay. We had stormy weather for the whole week end. However, we were so comfortable in the house. Our family enjoyed many hours of quality time together. The kitchen was so well stocked that we were able to cook all our meals and only had to leave if we chose to. We rented this house for a long weekend to celebrate my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary. What a wonderful place to get away for some time with our family!
The house was beautiful and well-furnished. All of us had our own space which is important with our 2 small children. We enjoyed the grill and screened porch and the wonderful view from the main level family room.
Tom was very pleasant to deal with on all the rental arrangements and was very helpful with directions and detailed information. I have some experience with vacation rental property from my own family and THIS is the way it is supposed to work!

Words cannot describe our marvelous family weekend, but I'll try. The house -- perfect! The upstairs was ideal for the 2 younger girls -- their own little world complete with TV and bath. The main floor was perfect for us 2 old folks -- no stairs to climb! And the downstairs gave each couple their own bedroom and bath along with a sitting area for them to enjoy catching up with each other.
The best part for us old folks, however, was the fabulous golf course. Three 9-hole courses, each one very distinctive. And the pro shop -- friendly and accomodating.
The young adults and the children also were quite taken by being able to simply walk out the back door, down the hill, and be at the water attractions.
Could not possibly have been more wonderful. Thanks to Tom and Judi for sharing their beautiful home with us. Can't wait to return!

| "Almost Heaven" was simply "Heavenly"! Mr. O'Connor's helpfulness and patience with my never ending questions, and the house far exceeded our expectations. WOW! Big Canoe is incredible. We shared the cabin with two other couples and we never used the top level of the house. We had plenty of privacy and plenty of space to play games and watch movies all together. Although it rained the whole weekend, we still had a great time and we're looking forward to our next visit. It was much more than I expected... wow!

| We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The cabin was better than we could have ever expected! The internet picture doesn't do it enough justice--this place was wonderful!! The cabin was fully equipped with everything we could ask for and more, and the owners were very easy to work with. Our party included three married couples, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The setup of the cabin was perfect with private baths for everyone, and two complete sitting areas!! If you might be considering this cabin, act quickly! You can rest assured it will be everything you want and more!!!! |

| "Almost Heaven" is a beautiful mountain get-away just north of Atlanta. The Big Canoe area is great place to spend a long weekend or an entire vacation. The O'Conner's have a beautiful house and were a great help to our short trip. |

| We were there for two nights for a family wedding with sons and daughter-in-laws. Great accomodations for a large group. Very nicely decorated. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the area. |

ALMOST heaven?!? IT IS HEAVEN!! Fabulous house, incredible view,
total relaxation! Everything you'd want to escape from it all, but still have it
all. Breathtaking scenery on the mountain drives. Jeep path (if you have a 4

We had a wonderful weekend at the house. It was great to be within a very short walk of the lake, pool and waterslide. We made use of all going fishing and swimming.
We visited Amicalola Falls (about 20 minutes) and ate at couple of good restaurants nearby. Looking forward to another trip in the near future. |

| What a great house!!! It had everything we could imagine - plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, screened porch ... We held a mini-family reunion here and a great time was had by all. The location is terrific - walk to pool, lake, rock slide, hiking, etc. We never got back into the car once we arrived. We will definitely try to find a date to come again. Thanks Tom!!! |
