Bonjour Claude: Please post this note to share with others looking for excellent accommodation in Paris. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodation at 60 Rue Vertboise. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and generously appointed with pretty well everything one needs to serve as a temporary home while visiting Paris. The location is perfect, the surrounding area is safe, and Claude Tixier, our host, made us feel immediately at home. This is excellent value for the price. You can’t go wrong. – David & Karen, Pickering, Ontario, Canada.

Dear Claude, My husband and I had a wonderful one-week stay in your delightful studio apartment in June 2009. The studio was much larger than we expected, and very comfortable, with every amenity provided. We could have moved in for a year and wouldn't need a thing! You are a very thoughtful host Claude, providing details about the neighbourhood conveniences and even welcoming us with flowers on the table. The area is perfect, with many restaurants and food shops nearby. Metro and bus routes abound, taking just 10 or 15 minutes to most Paris destinations. The Montorgueuil and Enfants Rouges markets are within walking distance, as is the Sunday Bastille market, Place des Voges, Beaubourg and Louvre. We had a wonderful stay in this bright, comfortable, and quiet apartment. Thank you! See you next year. Terry and Eric, Toronto

Hello Claude,
We are back in Canada after a lovely time in Paris. Thank-you again for renting your quaint apartment to us from June 29 to July 4, 2009. We really loved being so centrally located and especially appreciated the air conditioning unit during the heatwave! I'll keep your contact details in the event we plan to rent for a lengthy period of time in Paris in the future and will be in touch to rent from you again!
Regards, Angela

| Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay in the apartment. It was perfect in everyway-Claude's reception and responsiveness, the kitchen and bath, the furnishings and closet space, as well as cable TV and internet, and the location to shopping, metro, and tourist attractions. We sincerely hope to be able to return in the future for a longer stay in wonderful Paris! |

I have booked this charming Paris apartment twice. The first time I thought it was perfect. In location and size, in amenities and affordability. The apartment is literally behind Musee des Arts et Metier, and a 10 minute walk to the Musee Picasso and Pompidou; how is that for location. The second time I booked this apartment I was pleasantly surprised by it's wonderful renovations, increased amenities and as usual, lovely warm greetings and information from Claude. This will always be my home away from home in Paris. |

My wife and I stayed this apartment for 6 nights in April 2009. We found the apartment quite comfortable and conveniently located. Claude was very helpful, courteous and replied to all our queries on email promptly.
If you wish get a better idea of the location of apartment and its accessibility from various Metro stations, search '60 rue du Vertbois, Paris' on Google Maps France.
For shopping for groceries, there are several Monoprix (a major French supermarket chain) outlets nearby. Réaumur - Sébastopol is a Metro station near the apartment, and when you come out of it, there is a Monoprix (at 95 boulevard Sébastopol) which is open Monday to Saturday: 9:00 to 22:00. There are also a couple of smaller shops on the street where the apartment is.
We had a very pleasant stay, and would recommend the apartment for a short stay in Paris. |

Dear Claude, Let me thank you for a very pleasant stay in Paris (despite the cold weather!). The studio was exactly what I was looking for (and with a very comfortable bed!) and bigger than I had expected. How nice to be able to cook a real meal and keep food cold! The details that you provided in the folder were very helpful for someone new to the neighborhood, although I wasn't able to find restaurant Julien, and I might add that I think that the Monorpix at the corner of Strasbourg-St. Denis is a bit closer and better than the one at Reamur-Sebastopol. Thanks, too for the free phone--very convenient! If Dick and I spend more than a few days in Paris on our next trip to France, which we hope to be next year, we'll definitely keep you in mind. I hope that I left everything in good condition.

I thought you might like to add this comment to your guestbook: "Vertbois is an apartment that has it all -- great location, all modern conveniences, and a warm welcome from Claude. It's easy to feel 'at home' here and it's a place I would return to -- any time!"

Hi Claude! Many thanks for renting us your lovely Paris appartment. Both Anne & I really enjoyed our stay in Paris. Two weeks was a good length of time to see & do what we wanted to do . It was great to come home each night to our 'home' & relax. The appartment is so homely & easy to live in - and also beautifully renovated! We also appreciated your pages of notes - very helpful - & it was so thoughtful of you to ring us up about daylight saving as we would have had no idea! Kind regards Barbara Alekna

We had a lovely stay this month at the studio on Vertbois. It's good value for the amenities and a great location to get anywhere quickly and easily in Paris. The best thing about renting the apartment is Claude herself - she's charming, very helpful and highly responsive. We would stay here again. Merci Claude! FYI, the free landline long distance calls include Canada. |

| I REALLY enjoyed my stay at this apartment. It was the perfect size for me and very convienient to the metro stations. Claude is an excellent hostess. My luggage didn't make it and she insisted I take her jacket,as mine was in my packed luggage. I would definately stay there again! Thank you Claude! |

| We enjoyed our stay on Rue Vertbois. It was our "home" for 10 days. The location was wonderful, the neighborhood was safe and had everything we needed, 2 markets close by, and a 2 minute walk to the metro. Claude was a great hostess, waiting for us when we arrived, always available and helpful if we needed anything. The apartment felt comfortable, safe and spacious for myself, my daughter, and my friend. Great closet space and kitchen with everything we needed. We found the whole experience to be easy and comfortable, having never booked an apartment online before. Claude made it painless and pleasant!! Many thanks, we'll be back. |

A friend and I stayed in this studio for a week. It is clean, functional and very accessible to many different Metro lines. We walked to Notre Dame our first night and it took about 20 minutes. Claude is very nice and willing to help in any way and make suggestions for things to do and places to dine. I would stay here again.

Nothing bad to say about this place. Claude met us there right on time & had fresh flowers out. Plenty of room for my wife, my older daughter & me. Way better than the hotels I stayed in my last 2 Paris visits. It was priced right & Very clean. Very close to several Metro stops (trains ran every 2-4 minutes!) making it easy to get anywhere. We had a cold, wet, windy stay in Paris Mar 10-14 & it was great to have room to spread clothes out to dry! Thanks Claude. |

| My two teenaged daughters and I stayed in Mme. Tixier's apartment last week and had a wonderful stay in Paris. The apartment is clean and cozy, with a nice kitchen and bathroom with a great shower. The neighborhood is quiet and close to everything, and there are food stores and bakeries steps away. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and hope to return someday. Merci, Claude! |

| We stayed with Mme Tixier in October 2007 and found her apartment to be very well located and well equipped. We spent 4 days after touring Europe for 3 months and were grateful for laundry and high speed internet. Our hostess was charming and most helpful during our stay. The metro is very close but the location is ideal for walking to many of the great attractions in Paris and we walked almost everywhere. As we have our own apartment in Cannes and often pass through Paris, we will stay here again and again. |

| What a fantastic week we spent in Paris. The apartment was just great and Claude was a most wonderful host. She was most helpful and took the time to make us feel at home. She provided us with some great hints and names of places to eat. The location of the apartment is very central but quiet. Despite the ongoing renovations to the hallway I would not hesitate in staying here again. Thanks again Claude for being such a great host and helping us enjoy a memorable week in Paris. |

We visited Paris for 4 days and it was a most comfortable stay at this apartment. The apartment is spacious, clean and equipped with most of the basic stuff that you will need (even has an Internet connection though we didn't use it). The location is very central and close to a Metro station. The area is very safe and you feel comfortable walking around late in the night (even if in a slightly inebriated state)
We have absolutely no complaints at all and would happily stay there again on our next trip to Paris.

| Unfortunately we were only in Paris for two days, not nearly long enough as it turns out! We actually limited ourselves to only two days because of so many negative incounters we have had with parisians in the past both in Europe and the United States, but Claude changed our mind with in five minutes. The apartment was very comfortable, there was a real bed (not two twins put together as is common in Europe. Claude was very accommodating and helpful, she pull off a romantic suprise flawlessly! it was perfect. We loved staying here and will definitely come back. If you choose this apartment you won't be disappointed. And yes the renovations are still going on so don't be put off when you first walk into the building. This was a great choice. Thank you Claude for making our time in Paris so wonderful! |

| I stayed here for going on 4 weeks in August-September 2007 and the apartment was everything I had hoped. It is spacious, safe and close too metro stations and food shopping. Claude is very welcoming and helpful. I can recommend this apartment and will definitely try and stay here again when next I return to Paris. The hallway renovations are still ongoing. |

| I stayed here with my 16 yr old son in April 2007 and it was a lovely experience. This spacious apartment with everything you would need to make your stay a pleasurable one. The location is perfect with the metro stations all around so you can get wherever you wish to go without any trouble whatsoever. This is a very nice area where you feel safe and secure, with shops being very convenient. Claude is a breath of fresh air, a lovely hostess who made you feel very welcome. I will be returning to Paris as I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I will be checking to see if Claude can accomodate. The renovations in the hallways are still going on but this did not impact our trip at all. |

This is a lovely apartment and Claude was everything you could hope for and more in a hostess. She was extremely kind and helpful during our one week stay. The apartment itself was so spacious - much more than a hotel would be and for a bettter price! The wifi worked with no problems, and we didn't realize until we got there that long distance phone calls to the US were free - definitely a bonus! It's location also suited us perfectly, with about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Marais or Les Halles and Metro lines very close by. Just looking at these pictures online makes my heart ache to be back in Paris.... |

| I have just got back from 4 days at this apartment and like the previous guests, have nothing but good things to say. Fantastic value, a perfect, cosy home from home which provided the perfect base for exploring Paris. Minutes from the river and The Marais, local markets and metro lines to all areas of Paris. I couldn't have asked for more - will definitely return when work allows! Claude was wonderful-friendly, accommodating, and attentive to her last minute guest-she couldn't have done more for me. Thanks for everything-I had a wonderful few days. |

| Stayed in the studio on Vertbois in October and loved it. On a quiet street and walking distance to everything. And if you don't like walking its a block away from the underground tram. Claude is great. She was at the studio when we arrived with maps and details of the studio. She checked on us periodically to make sure all was well. And the bed was very comfortable. I would stay again at this studio. |

I stay twice a year in this apartment. Because I can spend very comfortable paris life.
The room is very wide, and all things become complete. I feel that the washing machine and ADSL are especially convenient.
The location is also wonderful! The apartment is in a very safe, quiet place. It is 1 minute on foot from the apartment to the supermarket! And, It is possible to go to the opera station soon by subway!
Madam Claude will support all very kindly!

| The apartment was a great choice. Number one was the bed which was so comfortable..the apartment was clean, modern and had wonderful hardwood floors. The neighbourhood was safe and close to three metros, epecially the metro Republique which linked to so many other lines..the amenities e.g. iron desk television and kitchette were a bonus..It was a lucky find and the owner Claude was very helpful, spoke english and made my stay more enjoyable..definitely spacious enough, affordable and I highly recommend it after being in Europe three times. Thanks for the welcome stay Claude. |

| We stayed at the apartment in late May, 2006, and we have nothing but good things to say about this spacious little gem of an apartment and about Claude, who was a very gracious hostess to us. Not pictured on this Website is the most comfy bed we slept in during our 4-country eurotrip--what a nice surprise! This apt. was much better than any hotel room we've stayed in and much brighter than pictured. It's also convenient to just about everything--grocery: 50meters, bakery: 2 blocks, subway: 3 blocks, shopping: 2 blocks, and a park: end of street. We would definitely stay here again and we can't wait to see how the outside of the building will look when the renovation is complete! |

Please come back soon. The total renovation of the 18em century building is nearly completed. The area is getting so "chic" that Jean Paul Gaultier has move ad the corner of Vertbois/Saint Martin CHEER!
