Casa Pelicanos is truly a home away from home only better because instead of the cold nasty winter to deal with, you get a taste of paradise.
The Casa is very well maintained with a beautiful back yard, 2 hammocks (to reduce conflicts) and all the amenities you would normally have at home. The place is a close enough to the beach area to walk but far enough away from the hotel strip to enjoy peace & quiet. There is a local person managing the place that does a great job of easing you into the area.
You can't go wrong if you try & take in all the activities that Barry provides in his "things to do" list.
We would highly recommend this place to others. In fact, we hope to make a trip back next year ourselves. |

WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME! There were 3 couples (including ourselves) and the house is so very ample for 6 adults. The patio area is the best for just hanging out! The kitchen has every thing one would need. Amazing that we clutter our lives with so much “stuff” here in the states.
Belen was most gracious and very helpful. She drove us to Zih on Sunday to show us around and took us to the grocery store to buy supplies for the week. What a fun grocery store. That was a destination all by itself. She arranged a fishing trip for us. One of these days I am going to learn Spanish! She loaned us a patio chair for the week, as there were only 5.
The next-door neighbor was delightful. It was so fun staying within a local community. The walk down town was so easy and good to walk off the calories from the day before. We just did not have enuf time to see all of Ixtapa … what a delightful resort area. It never seemed to be crowded anywhere we went … perhaps the crowds are diluted by the many beach choices in the area.

Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you. We really enjoyed your place. It worked out great. Belen was very helpful and the Maid did a good job. We really enjoyed our stay in Ixtapa and your tips really helped. We even cooked up some freshly caught Maui Maui on your grill.
Thanks Again

Hi Barry: I just had to write to let you know how our visit was at your Casa. We had a wonderful time! It is a great little house, we loved the patio and BBQ (we used it 2-3 times) and we enjoyed your wonderful library of videos! Your neighbors were so very nice--the owners of Bruno the black lab. Everyone made friends with him first thing! Alex as I anticipated did not take his first steps there at the house. No brass plaque needed. (Is that how you spell plaque or is that a dental problem)? Anyway, we loved Ixtapa and Zehuatenejo so much. The beaches are beyond belief! We had a wonderful dinner at Kau Kan one night--the view is outstanding and so is the food. Getting there via rental car was a fete, but we did it!! Belen was so accommodating and the maid Magdalena was sweet, and the couple who came to clean the day we left were delightful. I understand there is a family connection with them and your wife. My Spanish is not that great, and I lost the exact relationship. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and we hope to visit Casa Pelicanos again! Regards, Natalie |

| I wanted to write in the comment book, because we are just about to reserve our 3rd trip to Casa Pelicanos. The house is great! Many times these houses are not as good as described. In this case, the opposite is true. The house is very nice, convenient to Ixtapa by walking or Zihua by cab. It really feels like home, only better!! We plan to come back several more times, and appreciate the on-site manager Belen, and the owners. The house is being improved every trip, and we can't wait to see how the new bath off the master comes out. If you are thinking of a trip to this part of Mexico, stay at this house. |

This from our first renter this season: Yeh!!! We made it. The place is great. If it is available for I think 2 more days before your next group gets in We would like to add those 2 days. Pam and I are at the internet cafe. I walked to Playa Linda this AM and Pam worked on 2 open dives for her certification. More later.

We have not had any renters stay in the unit since we added this guest book feature, but we just returned from the house after spending 10 days there in Dec of 03. We added a ceiling fan with light to the livingroom and a exterior light over the front door to make it easier to get in when its dark out. We also added a lock box so our guests can have access to the house even if for some reason the Rental Manager doesn't meet them upon their arrival. Although there are still projects to do- the house is the best it has ever looked and we are sure you will be charmed by it as we are.
One more thing- be sure to attend the "Mexican Fiesta" one night while you are in town. I can't believe we have never gone before, but it is one of the most fun things we have done there yet! The $35 price includes all the traditional Mexican food you can eat, beer, wine and Margaretas, a fantastic show with Mariachies and traditional folk dances from all parts of Mexico, audience participation and even dancing. It is a terrific value! We still have weeks available in March and April which are two of the best months to be in Sunny Ixtapa!
