Thank you for a wonderful weekend - exceeded our expectations in no small part due to this beautiful property.
We washed the laundry (mostly), including lots of kitchen towels that we used for our lobsters (great help!).
Patrick was in the middle of a P.Cornwall book & one on Sharpening - hope it's ok if he mails them back?

We have had a great week in your house. We especially appreciated the pristine condition - the cleanliness, all the amenities supplied, all the thoughtful touches, such as candles, etc.
The peace and quiet has been much appreciated as well. It has been a fine location for our family get-together.
One possible improvement would be to have additional channels of TV available. We had hoped to follow the U.S. Open Tennis, but couldn't access the channels.
Overall, the stay has been superb - our best rental ever! We hope to come back. Many Thanks!

We just got back (late last night)from spending a week at your house. It was the best vacation! So peaceful but so many interesting things to do. My kids fell madly in love with the house and Maine from the moment we got there. They kept asking if we could buy the house, stay longer, or at the very least, come back again soon. Obviously we couldn't do the first 2 so we'll probably be back in 2yrs (we have a vacation commitment for next summer. We can't wait. We so wanted to see some puffins and whales but unfortunately that was a bust-too much fog! But we did get to see the seals! That was great! The house was so beautiful and had everything we could possibly need! And the location was absolutely perfect!Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We really appreciate it!

This week has been so wonderful! The house is beautiful and has everything you can possibly think of. The kids had the time of their lives! They were never bored - even though it was rainy & foggy the last 3 days. We especially loved canoeing/kayaking. The activity Shop delivered two kayaks for the week and it was definately worth the money! The days (and nights, too!) seemed to last so long. We did so many things each day, and yet it also felt as though we had so much time to relax! We'll definitely be back! Thank You!

Hello Barbara.
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know we had a great time last week.
Your home was absolutely beautiful and very accommodating. My wife, two kids and I had A fantastic week. Beautiful sunsets every night but one. Definitely needed the wood stove the first Two nights to take out the chill (kindling box is empty). It was so nice to have a home as well furnished and equipped for Just about everything you would need. I've rented homes at the New Jersey Shore for many years and have found some nice properties. I cannot imagine a nicer vacation rental property than yours.
Also, your "guide" book was invaluable to help make the most of the week both in and out of the house, as well as general planning for first timers in Maine.
Bottom line, can't say enough nice things about your home on the cove. This was one of the best and relaxing vacations we've had as a family. I felt like I stepped back in time while on the Blue Hill peninsula. I know I'm hooked on kayaking now that we've taken the open water adventure down at Old Quarry near Stonington. That was a great experience on the Blue Hill Bay. There is so much to see and do in year area. Castine was an enjoyable day, which included the Wilson Museum, a nice little find that particular afternoon after our picnic lunch at the old fort down by the water.
We will probably see you again someday. That is, unless we take the inland route in search of moose on our next trip to Maine.

Just wanted to send a follow up re: our week at 'Cedars' -it was a totally excellent accommodation, with all seven of us in total agreement (from my elderly mother in the 1st fl. bdrm), to my 17 y.o.niece) The sun room was gathering spot for viewing sunsets (3 of which were quite stunning) The home/property was so comfortable and attractive, and so well stocked.
(you and Barbara would make fine instructors for 'how to present/maintain a rental property'. We didn't sight much in the way of wildlife, but I do think I heard a loon(s) on a couple occasions. For all of us, I wish to thank you both for a wonderful vacation stay!

| Your home exceeded our expectations. My wife and I and our children were very comfortable there and couldn't believe how all the necessities were at our disposal. The bay views were extraordianry and never have we seen such a beautiful milky way. The lobsters received from Vernon were perfect and a gem of a guy. Our children want to come again and we will plan to do so. |

We just returned from your place on Smiths Cove. What an awesome location!!! We had 8 people and we were all very comfortable. We had everything we needed- including GREAT views. We especially enjoyed the hammocks, canoe, and row boat!

Everything about the cottage, as well as the experience of living on gorgeous Smith Cove for a week, exceeded our expectations.

The boat landing, outfitted with picnic tables, couldn't be more convenient and picture perfect.

Just wanted you to know we had a wonderful time last week in Brooksville. Obviously the weather was splendid but from the minute we walked into the Cedars, we fell in love with the place. It was immaculate - your cleaning ladies do a wonderful job.
You were right, other than bringing our clothes and food, you supplied everything and more! The blue heron visited us several times each day; you had lobster pots and crackers; comfy beds and chairs; croquet and games. You helped to create a great family memory.
The directions were excellent. We arrived separate times and no one had any problems. Thanks again for the details to everything.
You might want to add the following to your directions: Take exit #30 for Rt. 3 East to Belfast, ME. and when you get to the Y interesection for Rt. 15 (the intersection is at the Irving gas station (not Texaco). Also, the only thing we could not find in your well equipped kitchen was a teapot - it was a minor obstacle easlily overcome.
Thanks again - the Cedars is a place we'd like to return to.

| We stayed at your home in July of 2001. We traveld with our 2 sons and their wives. The house was great and the view was wonderful. We were there over the 4th of July and enjoyed the fireworks over the water. Your caretaker was very helpful. Our daughter didn't get to go with us and feels very left out because we rarely get together without someone remembering something special about our Maine vacation. We certainly would like to revisit sometime soon! |
