This has to be my favorite place I've stayed on the islands. It was so worth it to stay a wee bit further from downtown in this amazing triplex. The views here are breathtaking, you have about 260 degrees of ocean views and close to 6 sliding doors including ones off of each bedroom.
For the price of a flea-bag we got an awesome 2 bedroom 1 bath condo with a large open living area with full kitchen (including dishwasher), full-sized washer dryer, AWESOME pool and NO cleaning fee. We stayed in the upper unit, which felt like a tree house with a huge skylight.
The owner, Bill is very helpful and easy to get a hold of by phone or e-mail. He also lives in the ground floor unit so there's no worries if you need help or just advice on what to see. There are tons of pool/sand toys, floaties and water shoes left by previous guests that you are free to use so don't pack any of this stuff!
There is no A/C, but we found the fans perfectly adequate with the tradewinds. Also if you stay in the upper unit, sound does carry from the rooms as the way the skylight is constructed there aren't full cielings on the rooms.

| I just returned from a 7 night stay in the studio apartment at Hale O Pua Lani II. The price was fantastic. The unit was clean, well-equipped and the wireless internet access was fabulous to have. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. |

My husband and I just returned from an awesome week in Kona. Many thanks to Bill for letting us stay at his triplex and for being such a helpful and considerate host. The unit/lanai is very spacious and comfortable. The landscaping is beautiful. It has great panoramic views and is conveniently located near Kahaluu beach (great place for snorkelling!!!). Although it may be awhile, my husband and I are looking forward to coming back again.

| My fiance and I had an excellent time at Bill's condo. As others have mentioned, it is in a great location and has many amenities. We stayed in the middle unit, which has a huge lanai and lovely views. There were so many things that we weren't expecting that we were grateful to have - beach mats, extra books to read, Hawaii info,...the list goes on. We will be recommending this place to our friends and look forward to the day that we can return. |

| Aloha Bill!! Lee and I had a wonderful week. Words cannot express what a magical week it was. We were coming up with our favorite parts and everything we did was our favorite- including our accommodations! We could not have asked for more. The view was spectacular. You could HEAR the ocean and not just see it. Beaches so nearby. Loved the neighborhood. We felt like family. We loved the Big Island and staying here made it all the more enjoyable. We hate to be back home but we know we have a home away from home now!!! Thanks again. |

What a great time we had!! The Big Island, and particularily Kona, are the only place one needs to go to experience true paradise. Beautiful weather, clean beaches,friendly people and amazing ocean sports.
Bill's accomodations are top notch and feel like a home. They are well appointed, centrally located and Bill is always around should you have a question about the island.We loved the private pool and enjoyed drinking a good chilled glass of wine while watching the Hawaii sunsets. Truly a thing of beauty. We plan to make this trip every two years and would have no hesitation in recommending Bill's home to anyone who wants to really relax. |

We stayed in this beautiful place in the later part of Sept 07, for 9 days. Very safe neighborhood, and convienient to great beaches along the main street that runs through the best part of Kona. Bill was more then accomidating, and the amminities where by far better then expected.
The pool was great with an oversized porch to enjoy the palms in the breeze and the the fragrance of the plumaria trees. The geckos were fun to have around. Sunsets are breathtaking.
You will be very happy here. |

Our stay on the Big Island was extra special because of our excellent accommodations. What you see in the photos and read in guest comments is truly what you get. It is a great place in a fabulous location. We would highly recommend staying here and hope someday to return ourselves. We found everything as we expected, in fact it was even better than expected. I only wish we knew about Bill's place the last time we stayed on the Big Island. This was a perfect set up for our family. Can't wait to go back!

| We stayed at Bill's lovely house for 7 days on the top level, and then after a 4-day exploration of the Volcano side, we returned for 4 days in the middle level. Both levels are wonderful--great comfort and Ohh the view! Plus, the location is stellar--close to 2 great beaches and in a quiet area. Bill is an awesome host, and our experience here greatly exceeded last year's stay in a Magic Sands condo. The kids loved the total access to their "own" private swimming pool, and mom loved the plumerias and landscaping. We are now back to our land-locked Midwestern lives, but we are secretly scheming on the quickest way to return for another slice of paradise! Thanks Bill! |

We stayed in both the middle and upper units during our 8 days in Kona. Both units are very clean and well appointed. Of course the upper unit has the best view, but the middle unit lanai is very large and still has a good view. The location is excellent, half way between Magic Sands and Kahalu'u, where there is excellent snorkeling. We look forward to staying in any of Bill's units on our next trip to Kona. It is so much better than staying in a large complex, plus Bill is very helpful and informative about where to go and what to do around the island. Thamks again Bill, we had a wonderful time!

It is very difficult to explain how we thank to Bill’s kindness and his excellent suites.
It made our vacation very memorable one!!!!!
2 Friends and I stayed there for 3 nights in May. 07.
The View from the beautiful lanai gave us much relaxed. We cannot forget the peaceful wind, lovely birds, refereshing pool etc, etc too…. Everything is so comfortable, well furnished and clean.
The days in the suite are idle, like a piece of Heaven…..
If possible, We had wanted to occupy the suites as long as possible…
Now we came back to our daily life, but we are so looking forward to staying Bill’s suites again.

| Thank you so much for sharing one of your beautiful tri-plex unit with my family, Bill. Even though we planned our trip in the last minute, you still try hard to accomandate us. We stayed at the Pikake unit (the middle unit) in mid Feburary 2007 and it has fairly new and clean furniture all over the place. The free internet access, the large lanai, the pool and a large hammock in the corner of the pool make our stay so relaxed and luxuriou. The unique 3 single bedding is great for 4 of us, because each of us won't get our sleep disturbed. The location is so convenient that a great snorkeling beach with many green sea turtles is within walking distance and downtown Kona is only a few minutes drive along the Alii drive which has a farmer market from Thursday to Sunday. The tri-plex is in a quiet residential area and has the advantage that a complex apartment doesn't have: privacy. The stay in Bill's unit make our vacation so memorable and if we returned to Big Island in the future, we definitely will stay there again. Mahalo Bill. |

| My friends and I stayed in the top suite of Bill's triplex for a few days in Nov. '06. I must say that it turned out to be much, much better than we expected it to be. Very well maintained, well equipped, with plenty of light coming through the glass doors and skylight, a deck that loops around the entire unit with beautiful views of the ocean, a lovely pool .. it left little to be desired! At the end of our stay we were truly sorry to have to go. If we go back to the Big Island, we'd love to stay here again - no doubt about it. Thank you Bill, for making our trip a memorable one! |

I rented one of Bill Newcomb's units for a week in Feb. '06. We found the unit not only met, but exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, clean, had an awesome pool which we enjoyed immensely. We also loved sitting out on the deck overlooking the ocean. The location of this property is ideal. This far exceeds staying in a resort which is over priced and crowded.

The pictures really do not do it justice.cleanWe were four adults sharing this condo.We had plenty of room,very spacious and felt right at home.It was very clean, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. We used the pool,it was great, relaxing with great views. Bill was very friendly and helpful. This was our first trip to the Big Island, we found this to be a nice central location to do everything we wanted on the island. We would definitely recommend it to anyone contemplating staying here. We stayed for 9 days in Bill's lovely tri-plex that felt like a home away from home. It is a quiet neighborhood, we had our own parking place and our own deck. The pool is beautiful and refereshing. We were so close to the islands best snorkling beach that we made it our morning activity every day. Bill is knowledgable of the island and has his very own pet gecko's. He has an excellent vacation home and I recommend this place to anyone going to Hawaii.

| Thanks so much for our wonderful stay at your unit on Jan. 16 and 17, 2006. The unit was fabulous. The pictures, although great, really do not do the unit justice. The view was outstanding-we were in awe. The furnishings were lovely, and the unit itself was extremely well appointed. We used the pool area very liitle, although I wished we could have stayed longer to use it a little more. We felt very "at home" in the unit. Bill was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. The location was terrific- within walking distance to an outstanding snorkeling beach. The unit is very large - it was great for the two of us- and would be the perfect spot for a family (in fact I would challenge a family to find something as beautiful, large, well appointed and with such an outstanding view as this unit has). We would highly recommend this unit to couples, singles or families. It was outstanding. Thanks again Bill !! |

We were very impressed with everything: the pool, the view, the comfortable beds, nice kitchen, washer/dryer combo, an easy-to-find location just a couple of minutes south of Kona's town center, etc. I think our friends who stayed elsewhere in Kona were jealous of the great value we got for our money when they visited us. |
