Auust 2009. Just returned from first rental of Cronhaus. Experience was great and look forward to returning in 2010. Enclosed porch addition finished just before we arrived added a great deal to enjoyment of the house. Recommend to anyone seeking clean, equipped, well maintained home away from home.

We stayed at this chalet for our New Year's celebration in January, 2009. The house is in a quiet setting near a lake, and the inside is very neatly kept with lots of amenities. The owners had just added new hardwood floors and a gas woodstove, which create a cheery and cozy atmosphere. It is an ideal location from which to explore the Adirondacks - great for skiing, snow shoeing, cycling, canoeing, etc. At the end of the day, you'll be happy to relax by a warm fire back at the chalet.

This vacation rental was excellent. The private beach seems to be the nicest on the lake and is a short, but very nice walk with towering pine trees everywhere! The house itself is very nicely appointed and in true chalet style. The owner is currently making a lot of upgrades, but the work was suspended and non-intrusive during our stay, so there were no issues with that whatsoever. I would like to stay again when the work is all complete because it will be even nicer. The house does not have AC, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of booking during a time of peak high temps in the ADK's. The people in nearby towns and the residents around the lake are all a delight to strike up a conversation with, especially the on site property manager... a very nice person. The last thing to note is that there are two Loon Lakes in the ADKs. This property is well south of Lake Placid and the other one is a little north of Lake Placid.

What a wonderful week we had at this chalet. It was everything it was said to be. The snow and property manager welcomed us upon our arrival. He was very helpful and available throughout the week to answer our questions. Upon arrival my husband headed out to Dynamite Hill with 5 of the kids while my daughter and I unpacked and angled the large table that would become "Game Central" all week. The more we looked around the more we reveled in the abundance of everything provided. The Chalet is extremely well stocked...towels, silverware, pots and pans, tp and paper towels, everything was more than adequate and I quickly realized that even though our family is large I needn't have brought my two large pots, bowls, frying pan, or collander. The beds are comfortable, the linens not old or worn, the towels not thin or small...What a pleasant surprise to see such an abundance of all that we needed. We felt very much at home only without all the worries and stresses of everyday life. With the exception of the rain on one day, which prevented us from playing outside, the weather throughout the week was perfect. We used that rainy day to go bowling and to get started on all the indoor board games we had brought along. On Christmas Eve the 6 kids skiied at Gore, and there were NO lines. A more than perfect ski day. We didn't realize how wonderful that was until we went back on two days after Christmas and turned right around because the lines were too long. We went to Lake Placid twice, even though it was an hour's drive. There we skated on the Oval where E. Heiden won his Gold Medals, stopped to see the Falls/Gorge while en route, sledded, ate dinner, and saw a newly released movie in a quaint historic theatre. Back in Chestertown we snowmobiled for the first time ever and had a blast with that. The kids played in the newly fallen snow around the Chalet on Thursday and by then all had decided that their vacation was everything we had hoped for. We arrived back home to Maryland with happy snow memories dancing in our heads. We'd visit again in a heartbeat, and might venture there sometime in the summer to enjoy all that would be available then for an active family of 8. |

The chalet is for anyone who wants to escape for while from busy, stressful life in the city. The nature, silence and the chalet itself can make you come back home/work full of energy. I recommend this place to everyone. |

| We stayed at this chalet the last week in August 2006. The chalet is bright and spacious and we found all of the ammenities that we needed. The private beach is a very short walk away from the home and is very clean and beautiful. We were all very comfortable at this home. The private surroundings are lovely to take walks. We would definitely consider renting this home again. |
