We really enjoyed our stay at the Glebe House this past week. We found it to be conveniently situated in a location that made accessing local attractions easy. Our family is larger, 2 adults and 4 kids, but there was ample room in the house and just about every amenity available. The town itself was very friendly and we found talking to the locals easy and a good experience. We would definitely recommend staying at this house during your next vacation trip to Ireland!

We have just returned from a 3 generation family break and we were very pleased with the choice of accommodation we made. On a cold day we arrived to an open fire blazing away and Michael was very helpful throughout our stay, always on hand at the end of a phone for anything we needed. The house was clean, with all the amenities we needed and although we were there for a relaxing break, there were plenty of touring options plus all the things needed on hand in the village. Great value and highly recommended!!!!! Thank you Michael & Mary. |

We were recently guests at the Glebe and were so very pleased with our accomodation and the warm and friendly owners. The location is so central to day trips around the area. The house is clean and well equipped. I would highly recommend this as a first choice for this area.

We stayed in this wonderful property in October and were blessed with not only qaulity accomodation, but beautiful weather. The house is located within easy walking distance of the town, which has all amenities, and a lovely atmosphere. The river Shannon is beautiful and easily accessible. We did lots of sightseeing, and found the location of the property to be excellent, with very good road networks from Dublin and beyond. The house is very spacious with large bedrooms and a huge fully equipped kitchen that easily accomodates 8 people. The gardens are large and peaceful, with a pine wood to the rear. I would certainly recommend this property and Banagher for its Irish hospitality!

We have stayed at Glebe House on a number of occassions both for family holidays and as part of a group taking part in the Banagher Fishing Festivals .We have always found the house to be spotless and extremely comfortable. The owners Mary and Michael always give a warm welcome and are on hand if required. We would have no hesitation recommending this property and speak of it regularly with great fondness. There are many good Pubs in the town and especially enjoy our time in Flynn's Bar & Lounge where Eugene and his staff are extremely friendly. lots to see and do in the area . My wife and myself along with another couple stayed at this "home" for 18 days while touring Ireland. We found the house to be a very convenient location for our home base, while we made day trips to tourist and historical locations. The location affords the opportunity to visit much of Ireland on a daily basis and return to our 'Home away from Home' to relax in a comfortable environment and plan our next excursion. There were no surprises, the description of the property was accurate, it was conveniently located, attractive and very comfortable. It was immaculate inside and out. We would certainly highly recommend the house to our friends and relatives as the perfect spot to stay while visiting Ireland. We found that the Midlands area offered many different types of attractions to visit. From Clonmacnois, Clonfert Cathedral, Emanuel Center, Birr and Kinnity Castles, and many local Pubs which offer some excellent food to go along with the Guinness. Don't miss the Shannonbridge Bog Railway Tour and we really enjoyed visiting the Leap haunted castle outside of Birr. You might also get a chance to see a local Hurling match in one of the surrounding towns. And Sandy says not to forget the many gift shops in the area. Michael and Mary treated us as family while we were there and we consider them along with their son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Carmel our good friends now. Anything we needed we got, directions, suggestions etc. If you decide to stay here make sure you cajole Michael into singing one of his favorite Irish Ballads or two or three especially "The Old Bog Road". It might be the highlight of your trip.
Good Luck! and Slainte!

We stayed at The Hynes Bungalow - also owned by Mary & Michael who have the Glebe Bungalow - it was wonderful, well appointed and spacious. Mary and Michael were lovely hosts and very helpful. We were so comfortable we didn't want to leave! Hope we can stay again someday.

This is a fantastic house nicely furnished, 2 l/2 bathrooms, with good sized bedrooms. It is so convenient for those day trips. Mary and Michael, the owners, are close by and can tell you all the favourite spots to see. We stayed here with three couples and one child and had loads of space. This type of house is hard to find. Made our breakfast and dinners in the house and packed a lunch. Hoping to return again. Alan and Diane.
