What a beautiful cabin! The seven of us (2 adults, 3 teenagers, & 2 dogs) really enjoyed our stay. All the bedrooms were comfy as was the shaded hammock. And the hot tub was a godsend after our horseback ride. The dogs really enjoyed their morning walks down Chastain Lane.

All we can say is WOW!!! There were 7 of us on 5 Harley's. This cabin was every bit and way more than we had ever expected. It has everything in and out that you'll ever need, not to mention the pristine condition. We rented two cabins this year for our vacation, this one and another in NC. What a differance in the two, I won't get into the other one but rest assured your safe with Bear Crossing, not all cabins are created equal. I can't say enough about how nice Bear Crossing is and what a pleasure it was just talking with Susan. We will come back as often as we can. Thank you Jerry and Susan from the 7 of us that stayed there. If anyone would like to ask us about it, please feel free to give us a call or e-mail us. Bear n Chach |

Susan and Jerry, We enjoyed our stay at Bear Crossing the week of June 21,2009. The cabin was so nice and warm. Being next door to the Unicoi State Park was fun for us and the doggies. My mom enjoyed the porch with the rocking chairs and we loved the hot tub. There is plenty to see and do in the surronding area. Thanks for the treats for our arrival. We would love to stay again in the fall. Jimmy, Marie, Granny, Chrissy and doggies.

We'll be heading out in the morning and I just wanted to be sure and extend our sincere thanks to you and your husband for sharing your beautiful 2nd home with us. The cabin was as advertised. You went above and beyond in your warm welcome and the amenities were beyond expectations. Everthing worked perfectly with no hickups.
The location was absolutely perfect for us to do some hiking with the kids, explore the North Georgia mountains and just being able to sit an enjoy a good book when the weather decided to bring a little rain.
I hope you will allow us to revisit next year because we definetly want to revisit the area.
Thanks again,
Chuck and Barbara

This is a wonderful cabin! My husband and I spent 11 days here while visiting our children and grandchildren. Honestly, it was just like being in our own place...absolutely everything was provided, including a lovely bottle of wine to welcome us. This is the best equipped cabin right down to the children's books and games which surely came in handy on a couple of stormy days we had. We can say that this was a lovely experience for us and we hope to be able to come again.

Bear Crossing was one of the best places I and my friends have experienced with VRBO. The owners are extremely friendly and accomodating. The cabin is secluded but convienent to everything we needed. It was easy to find and in a beautiful setting. We were impressed by the cleanliness and organization. We will definitely stay again and tell all of our friends. We were three women and never had any regrets about being in the woods. We had a very restful weekend.

We arrived at 9A0(Lumpkin County Airport) by our private airplane which is about 20 minutes away. Enterprise picked us up in a rental car in DAHLONEGA, GA (only open weekdays and based in the local Walmart). This cabin is located about 10min from the main events of Helen. Very clean and well equipped (except only 1.5 rolls of tiolet paper - recommend bringing some). We left a lighter and starter fluid for the grille. Split floorplan with large kitchen, breakfast bar, large dining table inside and on deck. The only thing missing for our bunch was a fire pit for telling stories to the kids at night. Well worth the money - many thanks!

We found this property to be as advertised. It is exceptional in every way. When one reads postings like these they usually can be taken with a a grain of salt. This is the real deal!! The house is kept in perfect condition as a home would be. It is not a typical "rental property". We will be back.

A good friend and I recently had the great pleasure of staying for a long weekend at Bear Crossing. What a treat! First, it was nice of the weather to be so obliging! We arrived late on a Friday night and forgot to bring coffee...but wouldn't you know it, there was a nice little supply already there! And it was good! We spent quite a bit of time relaxing on the front porch, swinging on the swing and rocking in the chairs. We grilled up some fabulous steaks on the grill (thanks Betty's Country Store!) that were the best ever. Hot tub was wonderful! Can't think of anything that we didn't enjoy about our stay there. And if the cabin and environment aren't relaxing enough, I recommend the Spa at Mandala. Best, most relaxing vacation in years! Can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Bear Crossing in May 08 with friends visiting from California and had such a wonderful time we decided to take our grown children and their family there for a much needed long weekend in September 08. The house seems to be perfect for whatever your reason is for getting away. The exceptionally clean hot tub is nestled in the pines and the back patio with huge table and grills are the perfect setting for a group of any size. The kitchen has absolutely everything you possibly need. In fact, the entire house is well supplied.

Bear Crossing was one of the cleanest, most organized properties we've stayed at through VRBO. It was a very comfortable size for me, my husband and two small boys. Susan (the cabin owner) is a pro at customer service, she was so pleasant and helpful. We feel we've made a new friend!

Every year my kids and I go on a road trip. We normally have no clue where we are headed...we just drive. This year the road took us to Bear Crossing, and boy was it a treat. We had so much fun playing ALL of the board games Susan had available. This is a wonderful home to spend quality time with love ones. The memories made at Bear Crossing will last a life time. (As will the great pictures) Thanks for providing the perfect get away. Shannon(mom), Sean (11), Kaylie(10), and Baron(the dog!) |

My husband and I spent our 7th wedding anniversary at Bear Crossing and we could not have picked a better place. The house is so relaxing and beautifully decorated. We so enjoyed sitting on the back deck under the ceiling fan and cooking out on the gas grill. Our little dog enjoyed her many walks in the woods. If you are going to be in Helen, GA stay at Bear Crossing!!

This cabin was awesome! Very spacious and loaded with stuff - from tv's in every bedroom, extra towels for the hot tub, 2 porches to sit and relax on, choice of gas or charcoal grills, plenty of room and even games to play! The kids had a blast - in the cabin as well as hiking around the area. Very convenient to Helen for the candy shop and other food necessities, and with the fully loaded kitchen, we spent the majority of the meals cooking at the cabin. All of us definitely want to come back! Thanks so much!

There are several great things about this cabin: 1) Its location. It's remote, yet very easy to get to and accessible to Alpine Helen - you're there in minutes. 2) It's 'loaded.' Everything you could possibly need for cooking (except the food)is in the kitchen. There's cookie sheets, a muffin tin, measuring cups & spoons, large pots, small pots, a garlic press - you name it! While dad is grilling, mom & the kids can get in the hottub, swing on the hammock, or relax on the beautiful deck, and you still feel like you're all together. 3) It's clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Susan is nothing if she's not organized! Her attention to detail makes guests feel very 'at home' and comfortable. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

We spent last weekend at Bear Crossing. Our secluded "cabin" was rustic in appearance but elegant in ammenities. The place had the "Wow" factor. We slept in the spacious master bedroom while the rest of our family ejoyed the other two bedrooms. We particularly enjoyed the back porch and attached hot tub. From the front porch was a view of the mountains. We will return.

This is our second year staying at Bear's Crossing to celebrate our anniversary and yet again, absolutely loved it! The house is so gorgeous and extremely comfortable. Jerry and Susan make it so all you need to bring is yourselves, some clothes and maybe a steak or two! Everything else is provided, all the way down to extra towels for the hot tub and your choice of cooking on a gas grill or charcoal grill! I would highly recommend Bear's Crossing to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing, fun-filled vacation up in Helen, Georgia. There is so much to do, however if you don't feel like going anywhere, Bear's Crossing will help you to just relax and take in the fresh mountain air. It is definitely my favorite place that I have stayed at these past 8 years of traveling up to the North Georgia mountains. Way to go Jerry and Susan!!!!!!! Amy Hall

I wanted to take my brother and sister in law (who were visiting from Chile) to the Blue Ridge Mountains, so I picked Jerry and Susan's cabin because it was close to Helen and Unicoi National Park. I also took my wife and 2 1/2 year old, of course...and we all LOVED their "Bear Crossing" cabin...!
It was just what the doctor ordered; we all left refreshed, and with smiles on our faces...! Thank you, Susan, for making sure everything was perfect! |

Dear Susan & Jerry, What a beautiful cabin and so comfortable! We stayed here from August 8-12th and enjoyed every day of our visit. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and from the first day we spoke to schedule a reservation, to answering any questions, to the follow up phone call after we got home was "priceless!" This is indeed what we call complete attention to details and providing total, remarkable customer service and satifaction. A+ in our book.
This is definitely the cabin to stay in on your visit to Alpine Helen!

My girlfriend and I spent another relaxing vacation at Susan and Jerry's perfect cabin in the North Ga. mountains. I took advantage of this visit to propose to Tammy, the love of my life. We spent a very romantic vacation in "2005" in this cabin and I decided it would be the perfect spot ask the ultimate question. If you are interested, she said yes. I would recommend this cabin for any occasion or just to get away from the busy world. Again, I would like to thank Susan and Jerry for sharing their beautiful cabin.

Dear Miss Susan and Mr. Jerry,
Thank you so much for letting me and my Mom and Dad stay at your cabin for the weekend. Mom had a hard time finding a place where I was welcome. We had a really fun time, I chased away all your pesky squirrels, but I didn't see any bears to chase for you. Mom and Dad spent a lot of time in the hot bubbly water - humans are so wierd. We went for lots of long walks and played lots of games. Mom says she has stayed at several VRBO places and this is by far the best one. Thanks again!
