| We stayed at this property in May 2005. We completely enjoyed our stay and were saddened to leave when the time came. The house is located very close to the beach. Ocean Lakes itself is ideal for folks with children, there is a lot to do. Many of people staying there rented golf carts to get around, but we walked everywhere we went and were no worse for the wear. On one of the ponds within easy walking distance of this house lives two swans. There are birds and ducks all over and we saw numerous pelicans in the ocean right in front of the house. You are about 15 minutes or so from the Pavillion in downtown Myrtle Beach. We drove to Georgetown (for a boat trip out to one of the barrier islands). It was easy to get to, a pleasant drive. Don't forget to check out Murrell's Inslet for some really good food. We ate at several places there but had a great time at the Dead Dog Saloon. Sit on the back porch. I really miss Ocean Lakes and our little turquoise house and look forward to visiting it in the future. The owner of this particular property is very pleasant and goes out of her way to accomodate any requests you may have. We had three adults and two kids (one a toddler) and we got along fine in this house. I highly recommend this house and would return there myself. Go ahead and book it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. |
