It was so nice to stay in a real home and not a hotel room. The house has everything we need. We ate all our meals outside, rain or shine. Everything was very clean. We saved our pineapple, papaya & watermelon shells for the chickens. We took a day trip every day and it was great to have the cooler. Just loved everything.

Mahalo for allowing us to be a part of your world for these few days! Although we spent so much time out and about, coming back to your home was always a joy with its peace and calm. We didn't mind so much getting woken up by the birds as it was nature's alarm clock. It made us feel a little less like tourists and more at home staying here and not in a hotel.

Came for vacation before the volleyball tournament. Enjoyed the 2 bedrooms and the kitchen!!!! Used the washing machine for the volleyball uniform and the garage kept us dry when the rains came. The amenities were terrific and we'd like to come back next year.

We didn't arrive at Hale Pomaika'i until 11:00 pm. We were greeted with the house already & prepared for us. We were totally amazed on the price we paid to be able to stay in such a CLEAN, serene, peaceful place. It gave us such a comfort of being home. I will totally show the photos of this place and share it amongst family & friends.
Great vacation rental. Will highly recommend to others.

Aaah, so nice to rent a home and not a hotel room! We felt very much at home. Loved the carport when it was raining!
The coqui sang us to sleep each night, and the morning birds woke us with song!! Nice, cool nights!
Everything we needed was in the house & more! Thanks so much for a great home to stay in and for such a reasonable rate! It was so nice to be able to eat breakfast here, pack a lunch, and set off on our daily treks!

Not only did we find our dream home, but we had an awesome place to stay with our kids. It is so nice to wake up and feel you are "already home". We had such a wonderful time. The house had great energy (loved the colors) and was so easy to feel at home in. We did a lot of baking & never ran into a lack of kitchen equipment. Absolutely everything anyone could want in a home-away-from-home was provided.
Had so much fun in the area - black sand beaches, Astronomy Center, Hilo, Volcano, tropical gardens, Tsunami Museum, lava flowing into the ocean at night - WOW! Plus lots of relaxing time together enjoying fantastic weather! It seemed to rain mostly at night with beautiful days.
We will certainly suggest your peaceful hale to others and hope to be able to come back again ourselves.

We were here for the Merrie Monarch and even though it's a 30-minute drive, it was nice and soothing. Now we know why you don't have air conditioners... nice and cool. What a great vacation! We came to see you and your new home, to visit friends from Maui, to relax and read some books - and we did all that and so much more! The rain was a great experience, especially the falls in Hilo! Wow! And it wasn't as hot as I imagined it might be, weather-wise. I loved especially the black sand beaches and the hot pool.
