All is well -- we are home after our wonderful 10 days in Barcelona and your
nice apartment. We had a very good time and were very fortunate to have
almost perfect weather. The apartment worked out so well -- very
convenient, yet just far enough away from all the central action to have quiet
and to almost feel like we are living in a lovely neighborhood.
I did water your plants, although only once since the soil felt mosit for the
first 7 days or so. We managed to eat breakfast on the terrace every day.

Hi Annemarie,
Finally beginning to feel somewhat normal from the jet travel so I wanted to
get a note off to thank you. We had a wonderful stay in Barcelona and found
your apartment to be absolutely perfect . We enjoyed your art, substantial
library and well-equipped kitchen. I'd suggest a serrated bread knife would
be helpful. We particularly enjoyed the light cast by your wonderful lamp in
the dining area. I liked the way the patterns of light played off of similar
patterns in the adjacent art. We were wondering if you might be able to
provide information as to where similar lamps could be found. Soraya
thought you could help provide that info. She, incidentally, was most helpful.
The permanent market, just as you suggested, was heaven-on-earth for me
in the planning and preparation of our meals. We lived in Seattle,
Washington, for a few years and that was the last time we had access to such
a wonderful array of fresh ingredients. We traded with the merchants who
were friendly and avoided the grouches! All in all, an experience to be long-
remembered. Thanks for putting up with my many preguntas!

We are just back from Spain, and wanted to let you know how much we
enjoyed your apartment. It was just perfect for our needs, and in such a
convenient location. I very much appreciated how safe the neighborhood
was.
Barcelona really is a fabulous city, and we had a very good time there. Of
course we saw all the Gaudi stuff, including the glorious Park Guell which I
had not seen before, but what I hadn't known about before was the Palau de
Music and the Hospital de St. Pau, both of which were incredibly interesting.
We had a fascinating tour of the Palau, so we were able to see the whole
interior. I saw them both mentioned in your guest book. We also enjoyed
Menjador for dinner, also listed on your map. I think we ate there three times,
and liked what we had every time.
Again, thank you for allowing us to be in your lovely apartment. It made our
experience in Barcelona so much more comfortable and pleasant, and I would
certainly recommend your place to anyone wanting a pretty, reasonable and
convenient place to stay in the city.

Emily and I are at the airport right now...Headed back to Chicago. Thank you
so much for letting us stay at your home last week. We had such a great time
in Barcelona and your apartment was just perfect!
My apologies for not being able to meet with Soraya as we were leaving...We
were off to get our car rental at the Barcelona Sants station. We had one issue
and that was how to turn off the washing machine...I hope that wasn´t a
problem.
Other than that...I loved Barcelona. Might try to figure out how I can swing a
year here next Fall.

We have just left your apartment and arrived in Paris. Thank you so much for
a wonderful stay in your place. We took good care of the plants, they were
looking happier as we left than when we arrived. The terrace was amazing,
we were able to watch the neighborhood celebrations from there as FC
Barcelona won the championship against Manchester U. The art in the
apartment was beautiful, and the neighborhood was perfect.
Soraya was extremely nice and helpful as well.

Had a wonderful stay in your cozy apartment! Air-conditioner worked great
against intense heat. Used terrace for evening drinks and appetizers. Even
cooked a meal or two!
Not enought time to see all we wanted to see. Need to return to see the
finished Sagrada Familia. Enjoyed walking in the many neighbourhoods in
Barcelona. Time to return to NY after 2 weeks exploring the Mediterranean.

Your apartment is a peaceful oasis in a busy city. Gary and I have enjoyed
our stay in Barcelona and are grateful for the cool time of the year to travel.
When we arrived, Soraya was there to greet us with her beautiful baby - it
was reassuring to know there was help nearby if something should come
up. This is a great location to metro, trams and many neighbourhoods - we
are going to take a day to photograph the lovely buildings and doors in this
neighbourhood.

In addition to being attractive and comfortable, it was perfectly located for us and your various tips on where to go, eat, etc were very useful. We ate at Taktika Berri as well as Menjador and fully endorse your recommendations. Indeed, we thought that Taktika Berri was as good as any of the tapas bars we experienced – and we experienced a lot of them. Hi, we had a wonderful time. Barcelona was wonderful and staying at your flat was part of the reason. Thanks so much.
We got to see quite a few Gaudi things, went to the beach, strolled the Rambala a few times, etc. We really liked your neighborhood the best because it was nice and tidy, not so expensive, yet close to all the good attractions. We did use the metro system as our feet and legs were pretty tired from the previous 1.5 weeks of sightseeing. When we travel we try to fit a lot in, in every place we visit. So we get weary.
We enjoyed reading your books, especially "The Art of Travel," (me) "Bridget Jones Diary" (Mackenzie) and the one about the lady reporter, a diary (Connor). We also used the Barcelona guides too.
Also,. we watered the plants and "met" the lizard. We were also able to easily get a cab (left at 4:15 a.m.) to get to the airport. We had plenty of time, but we probably paid the cab driver too much. Oh well.
Thanks again and maybe we will meet again some day. We really loved Barcelona! Thanks, Pam

| We stayed here for 2 weeks in late May and early June. The apartment is wonderfully situated to all the tourists sites. We walked to most within a half hour -- a few took upwards of an hour. The neighborhood is a lot of fun with small small shpos and a local large market. We felt safe everwhere in the neighborhood, even at midnight. Although the kitchen is quite small, it met our cooking needs, and the apartment was nicey and airy. The terrace was great for late night wine, or an early breakfast. We certainly recommend it for anyone staying in Barcelona. |

Barcelona was great. And your apartment was a wonderful base to explore the city from. I had a number of restaurants I had planned to go to, but there was no end to them in the Eixample area. We simply would go out to wander and stop at a nearby restaurant for almuerza or la cena. It was nice to be in a neighborhood and get a feel for that part of the city.
The weather was of course pretty crappy, but it didn't keep us from walking throughout the city.
We also stayed in Besalu and spent some time in Girona which was also quite beautiful.
I am glad we found your apt. and thank you for making it available.
