The trip was great. I love Puerto Rico (I think it's my new second home!) We didn't do a whole lot, but we've been there before. We did find the show on our own and it was right there in Dorado - it must be new. My husband thinks the beach was great. Overall, it was a very relaxing trip, I thank you for the use of your home - it was very comfortable.

I'm sorry I really havn't had time to check my emails. I've been cleaning, organizing and getting myself together. It's always hard when you first get back and depression starts setting in. The realization that you're BACK!!! Anyways, yes, just let me know about the gate... And as far as the house, it was just a pleasure to stay in your house. You are not kidding when you mention all the lovely things you do on your website. To be honest, words cant truly depict the beauty of your house. The peace, breeze, and tranquility that is felt every morning is just memorizing and addictive! Puerto Rico was one of the best vacations we have ever been on. We explored most of the island and Vieques. We did not have enough time to see all the things we wanted to and I suppose we will have to go back. Everything we did the kids said that was there favorite thing. Yesterday we swam in the rainforest and that was such a great experience. When we went to Vieques we were only planning on spending the Afternoon, but the kids wanted to stay longer so I searched high and low for a room and we ended up renting 2 rooms from a police officer about 2 blocks from the beach. We put his phone number in the book. We went to the bioluminecsent bay and there was no moon so it really lit up, that should be on everyones bucket list. Once again thanks for sharing your home with us.

| We just got back from our third visit to Al and Diana's beach house in Dorado.The house is so well furnished. We only had to add food to start our Puerto Rican vacation. We enjoyed the short drive to Catano and taking the ferry (for 25 cents) to Old San Jaun. For the true hospitily of the local neighborhood,you can't beat a sidewallk meal at La Gloria de Kikita. It's just a block away past the surfer beach. What's not to love about this tropical paradise? |

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We had a wonderful trip! Our family (of 6!) had plenty of room and we were so comfortable. It suited all our needs and the view was beautiful! We loved the location and were able to make several day trips...the Rain Forest, Old San Juan, The Caves & Rincon to name a few. At the end of the day, it was so nice to come back to your home and....rest!

the beach that was about 2 blocks away-not the swimming part, but we walked on the little areas & went out & sat on
the big rocks that was in the ocean-my husband & son went
fishing there-they caught an octopus which I thought was

In the past, we have been fortunate to have the opportunity to visited other vacation destinations (Colorado, California, Florida, etc) for at least a second time. This is the very first time that our return visit has uniquely and completely surpassed our family's enjoyment of our initial vacation visit!! Your beach home's location is perfect, we appreciated the entertainment books, maps and guides you provided and we took advantage of your great build-in outdoor grill, right on the Atlantic Coast waves as backdrop. We appreciate how your caretakers-Norma and Edgar- continued to look after our needs/questions. What a wonderful week we shared with family and friends during the wedding of our youngest daughter. The weather was beautiful and the accommodations were great. Diana and Al's home provided the solution to maintaining some family unity. It more than met our needs. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful view (which included a double rainbow) and the accessibility of town. Being from a small town, the traffic was quite a challenge. We learned to drive Puerto Rican style by the end of our stay. Our only obstacle was the failure of the company WHATTODOINPR to fulfill their commitment to our arranged excursions. In all the trip was GREAT!!!!

Dear Al and Diana,
Your Dorado home is the most perfect place to spend time in the sun, during the dull gray western North Carolina winter. We love the casual “beach house” atmosphere and the fact that we got totally immersed in the Puerto Rican culture.
We had our morning coffee on the deck watching the cruise ship heading into Old San Juan. On the short walk to the surfer beach, we saw two men harvesting the coconuts. One evening we were amazed by a group of men (and one boy who looked to be ten) came galloping by us on horse back! At Gloria’s kiosk we enjoyed local food and the guitar music and singing by Gloria’s husband. The crazy traffic, the colorful wall murals, history of the island, the music and so much more all added up to make a wonderful Puerto Rican vacation.

our ventures to puerto rico staying at your lovely home in
dorado was a very peaceful time for my wife & I-the waves
& water crashed upon the rocks right there at our back door-the view was endless as far as you could see in either
direction-we watched the locals ride the waves on their surf boards from our balcony-on occasion cruise ships would pass by only a half mile from shore-the ocean breeze & the smell & sound of the waves were so relaxing laying in bed at night knowing the vastness that lay beyond our
imaginations-during the day there were many places to visit there in dorado, the surroundings were peaceful &
secure-our personal belongings we left at your house knowing they would be safe as we ventured into san juan to
shop the largest mall in puerto rico-the following day we
traveled to the quaint town of fajardo--there we boarded a
ferry that took us to another island called 'vieques'-there
we spent one enjoyable night walking the lovely beaches &
swimming in the pristine blue green waters that teamed with
marine life-that night we witnessed the wonders of the bio-
bay-a vintage school bus picked us up & off we were into
the night traveling a short 20 minute ride through the
jungles to reach the bay-it felt like a trip with indiana
jones, but knowing we were safe with our tour guides-the
following day we headed back to your house-there it felt like home-everything inside looked almost new-the kitchen
was very functional & the whole house was very well layed
out-we looked upon your home as ours & left it as pretty &
clean as we found it-I hope you & your husband al will
welcome us back some day soon-we surely plan to return-it
is very refreshing knowing that there are caring people like you & al who gave us your beautiful home during our
stay-you & al take care-we will meet again-thank you &
merry christmas!

festival on our final evening-we visited the rainforest and also drove the old mountain road (route 15)to arroyo-it

juan(loved it), took highway 149 to ponce & over to la paraguera for snorkeling-driving is a real challenge & we
missed quite a few turns, but always enjoyed the final
destination-la terrazza was our favorite dorado restaurant..we went back twice-edgar & norma were very sweet..the only thing we missed was bambi, & it looks like she is very happy with you in michigan-thanks again,

coffee & watching a cruise ship on the horizon from your deck-you're wearing shorts & a tank top-to your right you see the waves crashing over a small reef, but above their
sound you hear birds singing-off to the left you observe
surfers negotiating the breakers-the tropical breeze is
refreshing & you're planning an excursion for the day-this
is what it was like for arnie & I for eight days straight-
being on the ocean in dorado was an ideal winter vacation-
there wasn't enough time to see everything-but we did visit
charming old san juan(twice), the rio camuy cave park & the
arecibo observatory-in dorado we walked to the market, the
town square & the library-in the evening it was a 5 minute
stroll, past the kikita surfer beach to gloria's kiosko-we
loved sitting outside at her very local restaurant, enjoying a beer with our dinner-gloria & her husband frankie were so friendly & made us feel right at home-thanks so much al & diana for sharing your special tropical
destination with us! love,

your home & in dorado-having 1200 square feet of space instead of a hotel room of 150 square feet was heavenly-we
had everything we needed at your house & you were correct-
anything else we might need could be gotten at walgreens-it
was great being right on the ocean & listening to the mighty atlantic ocean each day-we also enjoyed meeting gloria & having some drinks at her very friendly bar-the
quiet, safe neighborhood was a nice reprieve from a noisy
hotel-we ate at some very nice restaurants & had some great
side trips, especially via the ferry to old san juan & the
bacardi factory-
it was great getting to know you & I will send some pictures when you get back-feel free to use our name &
email address to anyone looking for a reference-you give landlords a very good name!!! God bless!

because we've had a nice time in your house in dorado! we
love the sound of the ocean & the view-the house is a real
home abroad-we've done a lot of things, discovered bounty
beaches, explored the jungle & seen several interesting sights-dorado is a great place for discovering the island:
just 30 minutes away from the airport & central on the island-your house has lots to offer-we loved the BBQ-it has
a great view on the ocean combined with a cool ocean breeze:
GREAT-we didn't use the air because the ocean wind has just
a nice temperature with all doors & windows open-the kids
love bambi-bambi's really spoiled-she was brushed & fed a lot-it's a shame that puerto rico is so far away from the

we all loved bambi & left a bag of dog food for her when we
left-my, how the time went quickly but we were on the go most of the week-we went to the rain forest, the rum factory, deep sea fishing & then the kids went on a snuba
adventure-we did the bioluminescent kayak tour, toured old
san juan & rode horseback by the rain forest-then we left
your wonderful home & traveled south to ponce-by interstate-
we read what you wrote about the roads getting there!! we
stayed at the hilton but was not really impressed-the ONLY
place on the island that people were rude to us!! trust me,
the hilton will hear about it-we toured a coffee plantation
& then we went east to fajardo for more beach time & the kids did a scuba adventure on christmas day--keep in mind we
did beaches everyday too!! to tell you the truth, I had to
come home to rest-
we truly enjoyed the people of puerto rico & it was such a
good cultural experience for our children-more than once
they said they were glad to be from america!!
thank you for letting us rent your wonderful home-if we ever
get back there we would certainly rent it again if it were
available-I will definitely spread the word to friends &
family about your place if they go on an adventure to puerto
rico-here's hoping you have a safe & wonderful holiday season-thanks again,

we so enjoyed everything-I have never heard the ocean waves
so loud-we all enjoyed sitting on the terrace & listening to
the ocean-we felt so comfortable at your home-we definitely
hope to come back when we can enjoy it longer-we visited the
bacardi factory, enjoyed that-another day we went through
el yunque,then that evening we did the bio bay tour at fajardo,the laguna grande-we decided to do that one since we
weren't for sure about how long we would stay around the rain forest-both were so beautiful-the bay was awesome,& the
el yunque, wow!! we also walked & walked around old san juan-another day we drove to ponce-but we also just did the
beach around the house & took bambi with us-we met gloria &
got beer & snacks at her place-everything was so much fun,
we hated to leave-but will come back-we were at walgreens a
lot buying & developing film & getting things we forgot-and
the people at the grande market were so helpful too-
so thank you so much for everything-we did share our food
with bambi-it was cute...the people downstairs were real
sweet & they had bought dog food to give to bambi,but we all
noticed that it got left to the last,only after the people
food was gone-she was so sweet,always there to welcome us
home-everything was perfect & thanks so much for the suggestions in your black book-that really helped-we tried
different restaurants in dorado & they were good too-we look
forward to coming again-don't know when,but will definately
be back-thanks again,

on the horizon,it was much the bonus-edgar & norma were so
wonderful-it was hard to leave at all,come to think of it-
thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us-penny & I had
a great time there & in all our explorations of puerto rico-
we feel lucky to have found you,all the more so since it was
our first trip to PR & I'm sure it made the whole experience
all the more positive-once we got our bearings on getting in
& out of the neighborhood, the location proved to be an
excellent starting point-san juan would have been too much to deal with every day-we just had a fantastic vacation-the
timing was all the more awesome, as we returned to a foot of
snow in chicago...Yi!LOL.I think we left bambi a bit chubbier-that dog sure has the life-anyway, I could ramble
on forever,but the short of it is,we would both love to do it again-we are already sending out feelers to the rest of
our families about maybe doing the full house rental next
year-thats about the only way it could have been better.....
but then again it was peaceful with just the two of us-
thanks again!

of course, bambi-what a spoiled dog-we all pitched in &
helped clean up-we have rentals of our own, so we know what
it is to have to clean up after others mess-thanks again
