| This was our second year at this wonderful cabin and we are already planing for next year there. The cabin is clean, comfortable, close enough to town for convenience but isolated enough for privacy and wildlife. There are numerous things to do at the cabin and in the environs or just sit back and take it easy. |

Ellen and Pat,
We had a super time at the cabin. It was everything that we prayed that it would be. The cabin was so comfortable, the setting so peaceful and beautiful, the snow and river recreational opportunities so complete, and the time for peace and relaxation unencumbered. We have just come through several months of challenge and this time away was so needed. Your Memory Maker cabin was “just what the Doctor ordered.” Thanks for all your attention to detail that left us with nothing more to request. We look forward to enjoying your property again.
All the best,

My husband and I have been going North for many years and have stayed all over the Northern Michigan area enjoying everything that Michigan has to offer. By far this was the most peaceful - scenic place we have stayed. The cabin is in such a wonderful setting - complete with anything you would want. We are grateful to those who share such a beautiful place. If you've never had a Michigan experience this cabin will keep you coming back for more!

| Thank you for a wonderful week-end. It is such a beautiful and relaxing place. When we first arrived there was six inches of snow or more on every part of the land. It was so gorgeous and it felt like no one else was around for miles! We especially liked the tree that grew over the dock. Almost the perfect resting place to watch nature. The stars were amazing on Saturday night. We don't get to see stars like that often. We were expecting it to be a great place just from the pictures and are happy to say that our expectations were exceeded. The warmth from the fireplace and the peacefulness of the area were amazing. The 3.5 hr. drive there and the almost 4 hr. drive home were well worth it! |

| This was our first trip with two under two. This cabin was so well equipt it was amazing. The kitchen is wonderful and perfect for staying "at home" for home cooked meals. This is the most amazing cozy little retreat. Great fishing right from the dock just feet from the cabin. It is worth the drive for this rustic but comfortable cabin! |

| We stayed 3 nights at the cabin. This was my 3rd visit and my husband's 1st. It was great!! We went kayaking on the river behind the cabin, and saw a Great Blue Heron at 2 different times. We wandered around Grayling. The best breadsticks ever were at Bear's in the old part of town. The cabin was our base for 4 days. We actually drove to Mackinaw City and took a boat across to the island. We spent the day there (8 hrs.)It was only an hour and 25 minute drive from the cabin. Another day we went to Petosky to look in the water for the "Petosky Stones", check out the unique old houses and the lighthouse. We were back to the cabin before dark in time to swing on the front porch. The screened in back porch was our breakfast nook. WE HAD FUN TOGETHER! THANKS, DOURS! |

| We stayed in Memory Maker the third week in June -- just in time for a spate of very nice weather. What a great vacation retreat! The woodsy seclusion also keeps the house shaded and comfortable and we had a very good time just being there. We caught fish in the river, tubed down to Pollack Bridge, and spent a great deal of time on area playgrounds. The newest, right across North Down River Road from the fish hatchery was a particular delight. All in all it was a perfect vacation. Highly recommended. |

| We just returned from our 63rd annual trout trip and our first at the Memory Maker. Your hosts are nice folks that deliver on promises. The cabin is very clean, well-equipped and restful. The huge, screened porch allows a large group to enjoy the evening outdoors sans insects. The location is proximal to many fine trout streams, hiking and golfing opportunities and the town of Grayling for shopping. It is an exceptional value in today's environment as it's fairly priced and provides an "up North" experience without having to drive forever. |

We just had a great snowmobiling week-end at the Memory Maker Cabin. What a beautiful location. We all had a wonderful time playing in the snow, and found some great hills on the state land. Also, the snowmobile trails are so close and available. It was a wonderful family week-end ! Thank you Ellen and Pat for sharing your wonderful "Home away from Home" with the Crist gang !! It was unanimous that we all want to come back in the summer to enjoy canoeing and fun in the Au Sable ! Thanks again for your hospitality!!

Had our best family vacation in years at this secluded and beautiful log home. Plenty of entertainment provided. Tons of indoor and outdoor toys for children, as well as a great selection of games, movies and music CD's for rainy days. Cabin is extremely comfortable and clean with a relaxing northwoods lodge décor. We enjoyed several wonderful trips down the AuSable River on the provided kayaks. Spent hours watching many deer with their fawns, raccoons, turkeys, chipmunks, squirrels and many beautiful birds. I would highly recommend filling the feeder with seed corn. Surrounding grounds and river are picturesque. The owners have thought of absolutely everything!! We hope to spend at least a week here every year.

We had a WONDERFUL time at this beautiful and spotlessly clean and charming cabin! It was peaceful and private and perfect. Fill the birder feeders to take advantage of all the wildlife viewing available. The river is gorgeous and easily accessible down a pretty little path behind the cabin. The water is crystal clear and cool. Turkey and deer strolled through the property. Birds everywhere. Everything you need is provided by the owner - for children and adults alike. We had only three nights there but would liked to have stayed three weeks. We followed all the owner's recommendations for places to eat (lots of info provided in binders at the cabin) and were very happy with all of them. Bear's Den pizza is FABULOUS!!
Can't say enough good things! Thanks, Ellen! |

| We had a great week in the woods and on the water in a wonderful log cabin. We especially enjoyed the quiet setting and the kayak trips upstream through the unspoiled forest. Thank you Ellen and Pat for opening your Grayling home to my family. It was everything we expected and more. We enjoyed all the options you made available to us: peace and quiet, comfort, all the things we needed but forgot to bring, secluded yet convenient to town, rocking chairs on the front porch, equally large screened-in back porch to save us from the mosquitoes, lots of cut wood for campfires, a short walk to the AuSable River with private dock and chairs, many books, TV/DVD player with several DVD's, comfortable beds, washer and dryer, pet friendly (Dakota our 1 yr/old Choc. Lab. had a blast), and professionally cleaned. My personal favorite on hot days...putting a chair from the dock in the river, sitting back listening to the river and watching the mink play. The log home is so well built that closing the window and doors on 90+ days keeps the living area so cool you would think it was air conditioned. After dark, we opened the windows and enjoyed the evening coolness while sleeping under a warm quilt...it was great! See you soon, Hal 6-17-07 |

| Great Cabin. Seven guys stayed for 2 weeks and were very comfortable. Very quite, fireplace was geat, especially since the owners had seasoned firewood available, which was especially nice when it snow appx 3-5 inches. Owners were very nice to work with, All appliances worked well, and the covered spacious front and rear porches were especially useful. Rear porch is screened in, with beautiful mature forest with hemlock, and balsam evergreens surrounding the cabin. |

To anyone contemplating staying in the "Memory Maker" log cabin owned by the Dour family:
My wife and I just returned from a four day stay to celebrate our 10th Anniversay. I can personally attest to the fact that the cabin is as nice as it is represented on the website. We found it to be clean, comfortable, quiet and very relaxing. It is about 1.25 miles from the nearest paved road; far enough out of town to enjoy the serenity of a "Northern Michigan experience," yet only about ten minutes from the comforts of downtown Grayling. The river is tranquil and wildlife sightings were common (deer, turkey, grouse, woodcock, coyotes (2), red fox, and a month before we arrived, there was a nearby report of a black bear sighting).
The cabin was all we had hoped for. You will not be disappointed.

Just back from a great week at the cabin. WOW! It was everything we wanted and much more. It is by far one of the best cabins we have rented in Michigan. Location, location, location, secluded from the world but not from nature. Enjoyed the early morning walks, watching the birds feed daily and a glimpse of a deer every know and then. Not only is the screened in porch great for eating, it was the favorite spot for each one of us to claim first for our afternoon naps. It was a short drive to exercusions to the many State Parks and a day trip to Mackinaw. The town had just enough to offer without being too populated. The only regret we have is that we only took one week!! You can not go wrong staying at Memory Maker - and that's exactly what we did - made a lot of great vacation memories! |

This cabin had it all. 31/2 hrs from our home. Wilderness flavor (saw deer & turkey). Ate our meals out on the screened in porch & were able to watch some beautiful birds having a feast in their feeder. Kayaking & tubing on the river & then a short ride away wonderful swimming in Lake Margrethe. The cabin was beautifully decorated yet child-friendly. Books, games, & videos for our quiet times. It was all there. Then the icing on the cake was shopping in Grayling (I bought a beautiful quilt at the Ice House) & of course ice cream every night a Wimpie's on Hwy 72. Our grandchildren ages 3,7,10 & 17 are still talking about it. We all had a wonderful week. 5 Stars!

| I am happy to say that my husband and I were the first guests to stay at Memory Maker and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. It was awesome to have a roaring fire going in late June. Yet, it was nice enough to take our bike in town to ride the bike path. We enjoyed that stay so much that I booked the cabin again in October for a birthday surprise for my husband. If I have my way I'd be at the cabin at least once a month. There is no better remedy for a stressful week than a weekend in peace and quiet. We look forward to our next visit. |

We rented the Memory Maker cabin for the family to share a special weekend. We could not have asked for a better place and we will certainly be back! The pictures show only a small bit of this beautiful cabin. Everything we "forgot" was there. We are animal lovers so we found wonderful books there to read. I sat in front of the fireplace early one morning watching the birds eat, as I drank my coffee and watched the snow fall just in time for our skiing that day. The deer also came up to eat the bird seed we had put out. The deer would bed down eaach evening on the right side of the driveway. Thank you for allowing us to visit... see you this spring. |

We loved the cabin! The scenery is beautiful. My favorite thing was kayaking. It was awesome making memories and relaxing with our whole family.
