You have a truly lovely cabin in an absolutely beautiful setting. Our time here was very enjoyable and we enjoyed the peace and solitude. Everything we could have possibly needed is here and you have thought about even the little things, that while not absolutely necessary, can make for that little extra plus. You are both very gracious and we felt like we had known you all our lives. We particularly enjoyed kayaking on the lake and into one of the streams that feeds the pond. We also found the eagle's nest and saw the two offspring from our vantage point on the pond. Thank you for everything!!

Words can never thank you enough for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. It was such a blessing to be in the midst of such beauty, especially the beautiful fall foliage. Also such a pleasure to visit with you guys and Mrs. Pat.
Thanks again for your kindness to us and your hospitality. The trip here was truly a dream come true.

Your cabin is terrific! We loved the games and movies you had - we weren't expecting them! We also really enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the pond; it's the perfect size. You have made the cabin very comfortable - the kitchen is so well "stocked". It's a great base to explore the area - we enjoyed biking in Acadia & hiking at the Petit Manan Wildlife Reserve. Thanks for everything!

We really enjoyed our stay here in Maine. The lake is really beautiful and the whole family had great fun exploring the islands in the canoe. We caught some good fish too (bass, pickerel). Thanks for the fishing tips. The cabin was a great base to explore the area - we made day trips to Winter Harbor, Corea & Bar Harbor. We had only one rainy day, but we kept ourselves entertained with the games & books you have here, our daughter enjoyed checkers & dominoes. Love the screened porches & evenings on the porch with some wine, listening to the loons. Also appreciate how clean & well maintained the cabin is. Hope to come back again.

We really enjoyed staying here at your cute, comfortable cabin in the woods! Even though the weather wasn't ideal, it didn't keep us from doing a lot of fun things; we went canoeing, a bit of swimming, Dean used the kayak and got one rather large fish on the line, we cooked and enjoyed lobster twice (thanks for hooking us up with the four for Friday night!). We played Monopoly and Pictionary and read a few books too. We also went whale-watching in Bar Harbor, which was so awesome! We played putt-putt golf, went shopping and browsing in many shops and also enjoyed the breathtaking views of Acadia National Park. Thank you for your kind & friendly hospitality. We're so glad to have come to Maine and spent some time in your charming cabin.

What a beautiful and tranquil place you have here. We loved the quiet calm and peaceful sound. Cody loved the kayaking & canoeing and swimming in the lake. I'm glad the cabin was available when we planned to go on vacation, it was last minute but a good decision. At night, sitting on the porch, the moon lights on the water, when you're looking at the water line ahead, you will see a big "smile", that's exactly how I feel after staying here a week.

We had a lovely get-away in this cozy cabin on Flander's Pond. We heard the loons at night; enjoyed swimming & kayaking each day. Our boys spent hours in the pond. What a peaceful, tranquil place this is. Thank you.

We truly enjoyed this cozy cabin. Thanks for your help & instructions on the kayaks. It was great to get right up on the bald eagle on the island. Too bad I didn't have enough confidence to take the camera on that first kayak trip. The area was lovely. Good luck on your future endeavors.

Thank you again for a wonderful stay. The weather was perfect with rain at night, sun in day. We had lots of fun canoeing & kayaking on the lake and even found and beached on the uninhabited island out to the far right. Jonathan was so excited when he caught a small mouth bass. Thank you Jay for all of your fishing tips to Jon & how to fillet & cook the fish. It was delicious! We visited Acadia, biked trails & sunned at Schoodic Point, watching the loons practice swimming in strong waves. But with this wonderful log cabin on the water, the lake & your hospitality - Acadia comes secondary to all of this.

We spent a wonderful week on Flander's Pond. Great to meet Jay & Cheri & Gracie. The only problem is there is so much to do in the area. Everything from Acadia to Quoddy State Park, that we couldn't spend more time in the pond. Not a big problem, but I didn't get the chance to spend an entire afternoon floating in the pond! We'll be back!

The cabin was a perfect location for a "home base" to explore the downeast Maine area. It was a great place to relax after long days of hiking and exploring. What an unexpected treat to be right on Flander's Pond and to be able to enjoy the sunsets and the peaceful water. We had never been to this area before, and this was an ideal mid-point to go from Schoodic to Bar Harbor, and all points in between. Thank you for your quiet and unobtrusive hospitality!

How absolutely perfect is your cozy getaway on Flander's Pond! All of the rave reviews are quickly proven once you arrive here: a roomy, clean cabin with wonderful accommodations and well thought out tiny touches; a peaceful, quiet location; easy access to the pond (lake??) and kayaking; friendly, charming hosts. Not to mention close proximity to Mt. Desert Island and the hidden gem... Schoodic! Right now our only questions is - what week could we reserve next year? We came from congested Connecticut to get away from noise, and your place is the perfect, peaceful oasis for us! Thank you for sharing this with so many!

Thank you so much for one of the most wonderful weeks we've ever spent! We can't say enough about your friendliness & hospitality - you go beyond being merely hosts & turn into instant friends. We feel so at home here. My husband & son have continued a cutthroat checkers tournament all week & we are constantly challenging each other with Trivial Pursuit questions. Out 11 yr old hasn't even complained about missing his cable TV - a miracle!
The day we spent swimming & canoeing on the pond was unforgettable (even the sunburn!), followed by a leisurely cook-out here at the cabin. We were looking for a way to slow down & reconnect as a family and this peaceful oasis provided all that and more. Please, can we come back soon? All our best.
PS - Your personal guidebook was so helpful. We tried several of your suggestions & found each one a treat.

We lucked out again! We had a good feeling about coming here, and we were right. Your hospitality and friendliness made our stay as much as the beautiful pond (lake?), or the mountain view. As you know we're getting married after 16 years together. If this was a preview of what's to come, life will be great!! Thanks for helping us restart life together.
PS - The cabin was so well equipped and clean. Everything taken care of in such a thoughtful way. We really appreciate that! A rare quality these days.

Dear Jay & Cheri,
We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at your cute little cabin. It was our most enjoyable stop along our New England driving tour in the fall. Thank you so much for all your help with recommendations in Acadia & Bar Harbor.
We had a lovely time! I also appreciate your organization & responsiveness throughout our "booking" process.

It is with great regret that we leave this wonderful experience! We've spent the last four days hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and a great deal of just relaxing. Jay & Cheri's hospitality is so much more than we could have expected. They are so welcoming, so helpful and are just a joy to be around. We needed a place like this to come to for a vacation and we're already thinking about next time!
It is so quiet around here. We've seen bald eagles, an otter, many other birds and of course, Jay & Cheri's little Gracie. She too welcomed us!
I knew there would be one thing that I truly wouldn't like about this place... the fact we had to leave! We do love it here! May God bless you both.

It is always with a bit of sadness that we end our time in Maine. We have experienced a wonderful two weeks in this delightful cabin on Flander's Pond. It was the perfect place for us to escape the many noises of our everyday living and relax in Maine's quiet beauty.
The cabin was perfect for the two of us. It provided everything needed for a relaxing stay and its location between Schoodic and Mount Desert Island is perfect for any lover of nature. If you awe at God's creation, you will love this place.
I keep thinking of the words of St. Augustine, "Beauty ever ancient ever new". Thank you Cheri & Jay for providing a place for this Silent Beauty to be experienced sunrise to sunset to the delight of seeing the magnificent stars of Maine's sky. God is good.

Out trip to Maine was wonderful and we got the chance to do everything on our wish list - golfing, whale watching, exploring Acadia and gorging ourselves on huge amounts of seafood - Thanks again!
After a long day of fun, the cabin was a comfortable place to return to. Both of you were terrific hosts and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Flander's Pond was great for canoeing & kayaking and just relaxing.
Loved the entire week!

We could not imagine a more ideal location to spend the first few days of our marriage! This cabin is a beautiful blend of comfortable convenience and a rustic "tucked away" feel. (Exactly what we were looking for!) We appreciated not only the beautiful cabin but so much more the generosity and willingness to accommodate!
May God fill you both and bless you exceedingly! Love in Christ

We had a great week in our cozy lakeside cabin at Flanders Pond. The cabin was everything we hoped it would be and was furnished with everything we could have needed and more. We loved the kayaking and swimming from the dock as well as just kicking back and enjoying the beautiful views. We also liked the proximity to so much, like Schoodic Beach & Mountain, Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor and Acadia. It was a vacation we will never forget with memories we will always cherish thanks to Jay & Cheri's hospitality and thoughtfulness. Thanks so much!

The cabin is so cozy and well-appointed, we could stay year round! We loved it - want to come back again in the fall. Jay & Cheri are delightful hosts - they are the perfect welcomers and guides. They are willing to share themselves and yet respect our privacy. Views, sunsets and wind in the pines are glorious. This is truly a memorable place - God really blessed it!

Thank you so much for welcoming us into your cozy cabin. It had everything we needed for a perfect get-away from our grueling medical residences! We took many pictures with hopes that staring at them will bring us back to this wonderful place. In one week's time you've convinced me that I will have a "small place in Maine" that I'll have to purchase someday - until we become neighbors, I'll just keep visiting!

| We are a family of 5. We actually stayed at Cheri & Jay's apt. Which is just alittle bit closer to the water. However, we loved "Flander's pond". To us it wasn't a pond at all but, a pristine lake with small islands and loons swimming about. At the pond, we enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and fishing while exploring the hidden streams. Locally, we biked at the nearby fishing villages and, starting from the trailhead, hiked up Schoodic Mt.(What a view!) Therefor, it was truly an ideal spot to come back to after a long visit at Acadia Nat.Park. We hope to return someday(without the kids), and stay at the cabin. Cheri & Jay were very helpful and couldn't have been nicer throughout our stay. |

We enjoyed staying in the "Very Cozy Log Cabin" with our 2 children for 6 days. (It was too short!) The cabin is clean and comfortable. The cabin has everything we need. Our mornings were late every day there at the cabin, because it was very relaxing. Flanders Pond is so beautiful, especially in the evening. You can see the Maine view. The pond has 3 small islands, and big enough for canoes & kayaks. We enjoyed kayaks on the pond. Some areas of the pond are shallow and good for swimming. Our hosts, Jay and Cheri are nice and helpful people. You must read all part of the perfect guidebook by Cheri. We will highly recommend to stay there.

We stayed for 10 days with our two teenage children. It was beautiful and relaxing. Close enough to all the tourist areas, yet private and quiet. Our hosts, the Wallace's, were wonderful people. At night we could hear the loons on the moonlit pond. It was like something out of an enchanting story. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

We spent two lovely weeks there. The view from the dock is one of the prettiest in Maine; the lake is clean and swimmable and, on most days, blissfully quiet. You can get to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert in 45 minutes and the wild beauty of Schoodic point is only 25 minutes away. And our hosts, The Wallace's, couldn't be nicer or more helpful.

If you look for a relaxing and cozy place to spend your vacation in Maine, this cabin is an ideal place for you and your family. Sunset, kayaking, canoeing, bird singing, or just simply sitting by the lake, ... all brings you peace and the beauty of nature.
It is very convenient living there due to the full kitchen, local restaurants, the grocery stores, phone lines, TV, ... After a long day in Bar Habor, this cabin is the place to have lazy mornings... |

| We had a wonderful week at this cozy log cabin! The kayaks were wonderful and we enjoyed paddling around the lake in early morning fog as well as sunny afternoons. Sunsets were beautiful! The cabin was furnished with everything we needed, and the complete spice rack led us to cook up some delicious meals! Cheri and Jay were great resources, recommending some dynamite yet very simple restaurants. One of the greatest pleasures was talking with them and hearing that famous Maine humor! We enjoyed the privacy of this cabin and the beauty of the lake. |

| I have stayed in this cabin in the springtime, enjoyed it in the winter as well and can attest to the serenity that surrounds it and the lake. Very peaceful, the sounds of birds in the morning and the cry of the loons at night, not to mention the vast display of the heavens with the stars so close you can touch them. Will definitely be back again and again. Felt like it was home. Owners very obliging in everything to make my stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. |
