It was a great pleasure to stay. My FIRST trip was 16 years ago here in these wonderful cottages. This is my eigth visit and the first in the last four years. The pond is great for swimming and catching turtles. (difficult) both snappers and small sun turtles. They never bother bathers so you can't see them. These cottages with tall trees and pond are an ideal contrast to the ocean and bay beaches close by. The gentle breeze and smells from the trees give the impression of a pond in Vermont or New Hampshire. But in less than 5 minutes! you can drive to the National Seashore beaches. It is a wonderful mix for an enjoyable vacation. The Flynns

Another great year at the Cape! After 18 years right here at the cottages, it is great to just hang out on the pond and let the kids play in the water. The new row boats are nice. This year we went to watch the seals on Monomoy Island. It is a MUST DO if you are on the Cape. It was even better than whale watching. The seals are amazing and ther were so many! The Red Barn is great for gifts and a fun morning or afternoon. The food is good just about everywhere. The Church next door has a great chowder on Thursday night. Thanks again for another great year and we look forward to many more. See you next July.

An excellent escape from a very busy life of Boston city. The weather became friendly by today, 30th May and particularly thrilling had been a mysterious animal-like something in the waters that produced a bit of adventure in us.
All the facilities and requirements at the cottage were perfect to details....and we would remember, Debi, your shell-lamp fixing along with your other words of greeting and personal care. You added a lot more humour to our already wonderful stay. Hope to see you again! Riti

These cabins are trully a vacation resort of their own. Ron's big highlight was to let your daughter catch her first fish!
If this is what retirement is..........keep it coming.
See you in June!

The most wonderful bird watching this morning.
Clouds have blown off with blue skies.
Wonderful off-season quiet, light - and peaceful walks.
We enjoyed our tree-house stay - be it brief, enough to restore our souls.

2nd time here. Didn't do much this time - lots of chilling out. Caught the sunset at First Encounter Beach. Cooked filets and chicken and hot dogs on the grill. Enjoyed a nice white zinfadel and spent the night in front of the fireplace! Scott and Kaylee had a nice row on the lake and then hunted numerous frogs that were our neighbors. Going to P-town to browse. Can't wait to come back- Debbie is an extraordinary host.

Today is a rainy Thursday morning, the first rain of the week, so I thought it was the perfect time to share our experiences at the cottages. The problem is conveying in words how perfectly wonderful this place is for us. With three children under the age of 8, convenience is everything. We have been to every beach on the Cape Cod Bay in Eastham - just a hop, skip and jump away! We highly recommend buying the weekly beach pass - most days, we spent the morning at one beach, came "home" for lunch, and then went to a different beach in the afternoon. It was nice not to have to worry about the fees because we had our beach sticker on the window! Ath the same time we also bought a clamming (shellfish) permit. Monday afternoon we hiked down the trails to the Salt Pond to dig up our quahogs. Make sure that you wear old clothes (or swimsuit) and sturdy sandals. The bottom of the Salt Pond (not here at the cottage, it's fresh water) was thick and gooey! (perfect living environment for clams!) But, it was so worth it! We made the best clam chowder with our fresh quahogs - we will never use canned clams again. As for the cottage - it is the perfect place to be! We thought that cottage #8 was beautiful but we are much happier with #5. The kids spend all of our "home" time in the pond swimming and Mom & Dad liked to sit on the beach at night when the kids were asleep - we wouldn't have that luxury in #8 because it's not directly over the beachfront although it is on the water. The porch is our reading nook and we love to turn on the "shell" lights at night! We didn't spend our time at the National Seashore this year becasue the surf was too rough and the water too cold for our little guy, but we like to go after dinner to walk along the shore. We discovered that you don't have to pay after 5 pm. We liked Nauset Beach for a stroll, but then "discovered" White Crest beach in Wellfleet yesterday afternoon. It is the perfect beach for surfing...but be prepared for a workout. There is a 90 foot dune from the parking lot to the beach - lots of fun going down, but quite the climb when it's time to leave! Bottom line, we just love it here and in Eastham. We have had an incredible, relaxing time and are looking forward to our next visit- even though we haven't left yet! Enjoy and be happy! The Harshaws

Our time was spent mostly right here at the cottage....we were blessed with so many "nature" sightings and some funny sights too! We saw an Osprey right in the trees outside the porch...a turtle climbing the hill, finch, cardinals and a beautiful sunset that turned the pond pink and purple. Five boys (men) in a rowboat...(three men in a tub) So silly! We saw "Debi's)" beaver swim right close to the beach...heard the bullfrogs and big "splashes" at night! We also heard bumps in the night from late night fishermen!! They are not supposed to do that (in the Rules) but what can you do..maybe they did not read them!
So...all you that come after us...bumps and bangs at night are fisherman giving you fright....just close your eyes and go back to sleep! Happy 4th of July!
PS " I like it here and I want to come back for my birthday....I saw a beaver and never saw one before in my life...this is a great place." Nathanial - 5 yrs

We were lucky enough to get this cottage at the last minute. We needed a place to stay and couldn't have asked for anything better. Sitting on the porch watching the water at night. Waking to a beautiful view - then a boat ride and a swim. After we played basketball, badminton and horseshoes! Wish we were here for longer but we are definitely looking forward to coming back Laura Fuller

We had a great long Easter weekend here at the cottages. We have stayed here before and this cottage and the Cape in general hold some special family memories for us. We added to our memory collection this weekend. We especially enjoyed bike riding this weekend. We went on three different rides. First we hiked to Head of the Meadow beach in Truro. It was nice and flat and scenic. We stopped at a picnic table along the way for a rest and a snack. The kids loved the beach and we had it all to ourselves! We also rode the Coast Guard beach down the bike and rail trail from the Salt Pond Visitor Center right here in Eastham. That is also a nice ride. When we got to Coast Guard beach - we enjoyed s RANGER PROGRAM - given by Ranger Dana, about the marsh and the dunes. WE ALWAYS PICK UP THE SCHEDULE OF RANGER PROGRAMS AT THE SALT POND VISITOR CENTER as soon as we get to the Cape. We have done some great programs and we especially enjoy the one held at Great Island in Wellfleet - and also - the CAMPFIRE! (i digress sorry) I have left information about where to access the National Park bike and rails on the mantle under this book. Today we rode from the cottage to the rail trail (just cross the street and take a right and walk on the sidewalk until you come to a small cemetary) You can go in either direction but we went right and went thru the TUNNEL.We rode until we came to a big map on the left. We left the bike and rail trail and rode to Nauset Light Beach. We took a right off the trail...onto a street and then a left onto Old Orchard Avenue and a right to Nauset Road. We followed the sign to Nauset Light Beach. We didn't only bike, we also fished right here (didn't catch anything but had fun) played basketball in the driveway , went to Red Barn pizza, the Wellfleet Drive In and spent an afternoon in P-town. We ate at Clem and Ursies in P-town which was great for lunch. We enjoyed the Egg & I for breakfast. (they have a buffet for quick eating) On Easter we had steamed lobster and steamers in the cottage made FOR us at Stop n Shop (close by)We also made corn, potatoes, and apple pie!!!! We really enjoyed the warm hospitality provided by Debi and Ray and enjoyed meeting them. We hope to return in the future. Enjoy! The Turgeons

HI, this is the owner! We have more than one waterfront cottage. I encourage our guests not just to write about me, but moreover what they do, what they like and even what they didn't like....above all, their guest book comments are appreciated - as suggestions are all that much better from guest to guest. They share a common bond...to multiply - or improve their precious vacation experiences. Read on....above all, enjoy!
August 3-10
Despite rain! - we've had a good week. The cabin's a great location - enjoyed the fishing and row boats and imagine the swimming would be great too! We always enjoy a day in Provincetown with it's local color - lunch at Bubala's, Art's Dune Rides at sunset are fun and so is whalewatching (dress warm or with sweatshirts if you go early in the day) Chatham is a nice town for shopping; good view at the lighthouse, watch fishing boats come in at the town pier noonish to 2 pm. The Cape Cod rail trail is accessible without a car from the cottage! You can access it across route 6 - go n to 1st left - behind cemetary. A trip to this area is not complete without an evening at the local Wellfleet Drive-in! And a sunset at First Encounter Beach which is very close. Have fun - The Landaus
