We had a great week exploring some of the great Northwest from Birch Bay. This cottage is cute, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It's an easy drive to Vancouver from the Mermaid Hutch. We rode the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria--it was very easy (leaves every hour) and the ferry ride itself was as much fun as our time in Victoria. If you love mountains and the ocean, this is a great place to visit.

Wow! This place is magnificent. Thank you for having us.My girlfriend and I had the best time imaginable. Everything was nice and clean. Also everything was stocked up and ready for us. We were both extremely thrilled when we first came in, looking at every room and feeling excited and somewhat spoiled at every new thing we saw. We didn't spend much time here, because of all the shoppin she HAD to do. But every moment here was memorable. Thank you again for letting us stay here. Perhaps we will return another day.

Guest Comment Entered By Homeowner: We had such a relaxing stay. Lynden is quaint town. The "Dutch Mother" makes good food. On the rainy Sunday we slept-in, watched movies and just relaxed. This place has all one needs. The flooring (laminate) is such a nice change from carpets in hotels. It feels cleaner to walk on. Great job on decorating.

Burnt red sunsets, beach combing, many walks to the beach, drives to Lynden, exploring the area, fun in the yard, ice cream, hot/sunny autumn days which have been deceptively summer-like, "camping" in the livingroom on the sofabed while our 4 year old luxuriated on the queen sized bed and her little sister (1 year old) is wedged into her playpen...These are a few of the great memories that will stay with us.
Thank you Cory & Richard for a lovely 3 day stay at the Mermaid Hutch. Everything we could have wanted (and more) was at our disposal. The holiday by far exceeded our expectations (and you know how highly excited we were!) Many many Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid Hutch. This was a memorable weekend to share with both of my sons and son's wife. We played board games, made good dinners and breakfasts and went to the Blue Fish to sing Kareoke. My husband and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 5th and had a delightful dinner at the Semiamhoo with beautiful flowers he pre-ordered at the table. We took lots of pictures, laughed and loved evert bit of our stay. The cottage was warm and cozy. Love the fireplace. Thank you!

We enjoyed our vacation at the Mermaid Hutch. We had a great time. I'd never spent time in Birch Bay before and it really grew on me. It reminded me of how White Rock would have been years ago before all the development. The access to the beach is great and we really enjoyed the walks and the serenity of the place. We had two enjoyable meals at what used to be called the Dockside (I forget the current name) and had great food at Stephanie's as well. We did Chuckanut Drive, went to Larabee State Park, La Conner, Deception Pass and loved shopping at the Chelsea factory outlet stores in Tulalip. We drove to Lynden as well and had lunch there one day. We appreciated how well your cottage is designed and how well equipped it is. Everything was immaculate.

This was a wonderful place to decompress! We were attending "A Weekend to Remember" at Semiahmoo for couples and bettering their marriage. We have stayed at the Resort but we prefer staying here. It's your own little peaceful nest - not all the hub bub.
We enjoyed every facet of your little cottage. You've made it so warm and homey! It was also very nice to meet you. We will be referring you to others. My husband is a Pastor so many will receive info about your place!

The kids had a great time building sand castles, collecting shells and finding crabs(at Boulevard Park in Fairhaven). We also did the go-carts and thomas train ride here in Birch Bay.

The Perfect getaway for 2 to celebrate Vanentines Day.
We spent our first night by the fireplace and ordered pizza.
We spent saturday exploring the area-the coastline and up through Semiahmoo-had lunch at Stephani's Beach Cafe,which was incredible food. Cory cooked us an amazing dinner saturday night in the perfect kitchen. The cottage couldn't be more wonderful; with the perfect little touches.
We would love to come back during the summer monthsand will tell all our friends. Thanks for providing a wonderful escape.
