At Woodberry I had the odd sensation that I was spending time at a friend's home. The owner and the house were so welcoming. Lovely decor, wonderful view. Loved the little details like the firewood and the games closet. The screened porch is great. Close enough to Acadia for a day trip. . .plenty to do on Deer Isle. Wish we could have stayed longer. I hope to go back soon.

We are 2 married couples who visit Maine each year. We spent a week at Woodberry Cottage last fall. In a quiet, private, wooded, oceanfront location, the home is very attractive, comfortable and well equipped. If you want an authentic Downeast vacation amidst great beauty, this would be an excellent choice.

A note received from a satisfied rentor.
"I never felt like I had the opportunity to let you know just how much we enjoyed our experience in Maine last week. The Woodberry Cottage was beyond our dreams for a place to enjoy a longed for vacation with our grown sons and daughter-in-law. WE LOVED IT. Even the way the owners have furnished it was so our taste. It was [as] if we had picked everything out ourselves.
Your office was so accommodating and friendly. We hope the towel bar that came loose was not too difficult to fix.
I only wrote a quick note in the guest book [at the cottage], but wondered if you would please pass on to the owners, how gracious we feel they are in sharing this "home away from home" with strangers. We hope to return. With sincerest thanks, Mary Shingler"

"Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us! There is a lot of missing wine, lobster and blueberry pie on the island - we consumed all possible. Also, the mail boat [out to Eagle Island] is great fun."

"What a beautiful place. Love the floor plan and all of your details. We would recommend Old Quarry for a kayak tour ... lots of fun on the 1/2 day tour ... swam at an old quarry on one of the islands. Added a piece of blue to your sea-glass bottle. Thanks again for sharing your home."

"We had a wonderful relaxing week in your lovely home. Maine showed us almost all its weather and we loved it. We looked over Maine Maritime Academy, where our daughter hopes to study."

"Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Unfortunately, the rains never stopped. Don't miss Carter's Cockatoo - loads of fun and great food. Great time in spite of the rain. Thanks for going the extra mile."

My wife and I spent a wonderful five weeks in Woodberry Cottage last year. The setting is idyllic; the Cottage immaculate, well designed and fully furnished. Everything you would need for a carefree vacation stay has been provided. Without a doubt, Woodberry Cottage is the loveliest vacation rental we have ever enjoyed, in Maine or elsewhere. We plan to return this summer for another five weeks . . . and hopefully many times after that.

(From the Guest Book at the cottage) "Thank you for opening your beautiful home up to visitors. Lovely and peaceful here. Enjoyed meeting some of the locals. We highly recommend the Fisherman's Friend restaurant and Suzie Q's, both owned by the same people. Everything there is delicious."

(From the Guest Book at the cottage) "We wish you a happy and prosperous 2005. Thank you very much for opening your house for us this winter. It was comfortable, convenient and entertaining. We saw your resident red fox, listened to the wind and the waves, and rang in the new year in our accustomed style — quietly, with our family, in Maine."

(The Kao's, with their four children, were our first rentors. They wrote us a note at the end of their stay. We started this Guest Book 6/15/05)
We had a fantastic time - too little time - we were all crying when we left.
We hope we can come back!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We loved it.
