We spent a weekend at Incommunicado and had a very good time. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. It is an excellent place to get away from it all. There were six adults in our party and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is excellent and the master suite is one of the most extravigant rooms I have ever seen. I would highly recommend this rental.

As we entered the house to explore our vacation residence, our jaws dropped to the floor. Throughout the house I heard echoes of "Wow! You have to check this out! Have you seen the master suite yet?" My family and I had just discovered Incommunicado. The house was incredible, like stepping into the pages of a magazine. There was a perfect amount of space for us - 2 couples and 1 family of 3 - with the 3 bedrooms and the den. While we enjoyed our separate spaces, we also enjoyed coming together for dinner and breakfast at the large dining table, sitting around the kitchen bar chatting as someone prepared dinner, and staying up late talking as we stretched out on the huge comfy couch in the living room. The porches offered views of the Gulf framed by palms and oaks draped in spanish moss - a pictoresque setting to watch the sunset. This home and Cedar Key offers the perfect family retreat for those seeking a peaceful vacation in a quaint coastal village setting, with many opportunities for kayaking, birdwatching, and lazy afternoons. Thank you for sharing your house with us. We are already dreaming of our next visit.

Thanks for building and adorning such a spectacular home in Cedar Key. It was truly the highlight of our much needed sabbatical. Clean, convenient, and very comfortable with plenty of great amenities. Thanks so much again. God bless you all.

This house was spectacular with breath taking views, and the best of every concievable amenity possible. Each room was meticulously decorated capturing the essence of Floridas charm. I have traveled extensivley throughout the world and this house with it's careful planning of every detail, and it's location makes it one of the best vacations ever. Thanks again for a most memorable time! |

We recently stayed at Incommunicado with another family and had a great time. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The owner provides all the comforts of home in a place that is truly a dream house. We would love to go back and enjoy it again.

WELCOME TO INCOMMUNICADO
Back in 1984 or so I found this island city by flying my Cessna C-140 (2-seat tail dragger) to the island. I had just bought the airplane and my goal was to fly to every airport in the state of Florida, from Key West to Pensacola and everything in between. It took me a year, but I did succeed.
On one of my first stops was to an airport in Cedar Key. I had heard about this island that jetted into the gulf from a James D. Mc Donald novel, as well as from Jimmy Buffett. Its little municipal airport has a concrete strip left over from WW II; back then it was used as an emergency landing field.
I landed that day and was greeted by the island taxi service, which drove me into town. I rented a bicycle and went about exploring the island. I had planned to stay only an hour or so, but I stayed the whole day. I ventured about the island, and as I biked I found this piece of land facing the Gulf of Mexico. It was right at sunset, and the setting sun was beautiful. I saw the for-sale sign on the lot and bought it that night. I knew then that sometime later in life I would build my dream home on that lot.
Well, fast forward to 2004. I had reached another goal. I was now an airline pilot, and it was that time in my life to build a house. I have been all over the world and to many countries in my travels. I have seen many sunsets and sunrises at 35000 feet and at sea level. But I still remember the sunset I first saw on this property in my early 20s.
I love coming here when I have time. It pains me to rent it: That was never my intent when I started the house project. But, things change in life, just like the sunsets.
Welcome to my dream. I hope your stay is as peaceful and fulfilling as it is for me when I am here. When you look up into the sky and see a contrail (the white exhaust) from a jet, think of me wishing I was here in Cedar Key.
