We had a wonderful time at the Walking Rain Guesthouse. We brought our year old sheltie and he loved being able to walk out the front door and into the snow, and also walks with Zoner and Cupid. We visited in January 2008 and Neal was so helpful in suggesting places to visit and even going with us on a hike. Great place to escape and we would definately visit again.

We had a fantastic 10 day stay at the Walking Rain Guesthouse The Guesthouse is located in a quiet locale above Arroyo Seco NM, up a private road & nestled into a mountain amongst pinyon pines and other trees. The location is perfect for a peaceful getaway and yet close enough to Arroyo Seco (a quaint 'old time' village) with a couple of restaurants, a grocery store and shopping. and the larger City of Taos. The Guesthouse has all the basic cookware, plus many misc food items presumably left by other guest....very handy if you forgot to bring something. Neal (and Ruth) were very helpful to recommend places to visit and responsive to our needs. The hot tub was an extra bonus! This guesthouse is a 'real gem' and is highly recommended by both of us.

Also, please thank Mike again for helping us up the hill the first night.
Take care and keep the hot tub warm for us.

Neal & Ruth - The guest house had all we needed. Thank you for making our first trip to New Mexico so fabulous. The hot tub and brilliant stars added so much to the experience and after hiking every day, the hot tub was just the medecine we needed for sore muscles. Thank you again! Ed & Marilyn

We enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable and private guest house. It's wonderfully located, secluded with a beautiful view of Taos, and yet close to town and the mountains. A great place to relax after a day of hiking or sightseeing. We also appreciated the fact that it is pet friendly. Thanks Neal and Ruth!

We have truely enjoyed our stay here in your place - it was perfect for us. Met all my expectations - I wanted a place where I could walk in the woods - a private place. Thank you for all the thought that went into furnishing, etc. - you thought of everything. If we ever come this way again we would hope to stay here. Alex & Julie M.

What a wonderful, relaxing week we spent at Walking Rain Guest House! The very private hot tub and the beautiful terrace in the woods were perfect touches after a busy day. And our little dog really enjoyed the long walks in the pines. We've rented several vacation homes from owners. This was the best. Close enough to get to everything but our own peaceful retreat every evening!

We so much enjoyed the peacefulness of this place - it felt like home. We enjoyed a hike with our host and learned alot about the area. You certainly won't feel like a tourist here, but rather a welcomed guest! So cozy! Stay among the locals and away from the touristy hub-bub.

Peaceful, Romantic, Quiet, Incredible Views, Clean, Comfortable. A perfect location! We loved being able to go walking in the woods, loved the isolation from neighbors & traffic, and the location with all the trees, mountain views and rolling fields was incredible. We would like to thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home with our family. And thank you for having a pet friendly home! We look forward to visiting in the future.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at the Walking Rain guest house. Neil and Ruth were especially helpful in providing us with local information to help us get the most out of our visit to Taos. The accomodations were delightful and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. You won't believe the clear night skies up there!

We came to the Walking Rain Guesthouse with plans to stay for a week.....we stayed for two! The Guesthouse has a wonderful atmosphere, warm and inviting with its SW decor. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quiet, nestled among the pinyon pines. Arroyo Seco is only minutes away with an assortment of little shops...don't miss an ice-cream cone from The Cow! The Guesthouse has all the basics, plus many little extras that make it special. Neal and Ruth are quick to respond if anything is needed, but also respect your privacy as a guest. We would come again, it feels like home! |

What a wonderful place to stay! We were not only happy with the beautiful and cozy surroundings, the owners were helpful and welcoming from the very start. We felt right at home, and I was pleased that my wife enjoyed her first ever trip to the mountains with style. Thank you for the great place to stay and sharing the beauty of Taos and the surrounding area, Neal and Ruth.
Sincerely,
