My wife and I joined our good friends, Tim & Jane, for six nights at Marlene's Villa Star July 19-25,2008. After a week touring the island and visiting most of its 37 beautiful beaches, we all agreed that, for us, we could not have found a more perfect place to stay on St Martin/St Maarten. Its location on the island at Guana Bay, its bright, relaxing and comfortable decor and furnishings were just what we were hoping for. Next door on the beach was the Iguana Grille where John and Johan served up great meals and cold beverages all week long. Regardless of what the forecasts were, the weather during our stay couldn't have been nicer. The beach was clean, the pool and grounds well cared for and everyone we met was like an old friend. As for Marlene, the owner, she went above and beyond the typical call of duty as the Villa's owner with a full package of information, tips and recommendations which really added so much to our vacation. Thanks, Marlene. Next time we visit your little island, we'll be sure and hook up with Villa Star again. Jim & Mary, Port Charlotte, Fl USA |

We just stayed in Villa Star April 2008 and loved it. It is very nicely decorated and YES, the beds and pillows are so comfortable! View is excellent, pool and beach/ocean right ourside, stars galore, a nice beachbar with great food right at the end of the beach by the Villas. We spent one week at Guana Bay and the next week at a timeshare on the other end of the Dutch side at Simpson Bay. We much preferred staying at Guana bay. Not only were the accommodations more comfortalbe but there was much less traffic, fewer people and it was easier to get on the road and head over easily to the French side. The villas are not crowed, noisy or touristy, it is in a laid back area of St. Maarten. We had another couple stay with us here our last few days and there was plenty of room for the 4 of us also. Magna and Simon (maid and groundskeeper) are very nice and helpful with information etc. (we had never been to St. Maarten before) It also felt like a very safe area and we certainly had no problems of that sort. I would definitely reccommend this place to anyone and we would definitely go back! Jordan & Fraser Brunswick Maine |

We stayed in Villa Star in May of 2008. Everything was as advertised and we really enjoyed our stay. The Villa is adjacent to a very quiet beach and while all beaches in St. Martin are public, we never had more then 10 or 12 people present and a couple of days were completely ours. Guana Bay is out of the way and if you enjoy peace and quiet it is a great place for you. That being said it is also easy to get to some of the more popular beaches and locations.
Marlene the owner is a great resource and provides a healthy packet of information with tips that saved us money as well as provided experiences we would have never otherwise found on our own. She is great.
I have a few friendly tips. Lobster Night is Friday at the Greenhouse in Phillipsburg (go during happy hour!), the Dutch side honors the Dollar, the French Side Euros so shop in Phillipsburg (5 mins from Villa), Max one of the property managers routinely does a pool side BBQ on Mondays and it is really fun, bring or buy mosquito spray this is a persistent problem away from the beaches where the wind keeps them away but only a minor nuisance, eat the beer-battered scallops at Baywatch on Orient Beach at least once but more if possible. Pyrat Rum = Heaven even though it is blasphemy to say so. Enjoy. |

| What a wonderful vacation on St. Maartin!! Villa Star was so beautiful and perfect for any family, couple, or group of friends. Everything that we could ask for was supplied and it was a surreal location! It was a pleasant surprise coming in from a long flight to a nice welcome gift and the most comfortable beds and bathrobes imaginable. The villia was in a great location out of the craziness, but close enough so that we could go out, shop, and get some great food at the local and high end restaurants at any time. Next time any of us go to St. Maartin we all want to stay here! The caretaker, Simon was great and answered any questions we may have had. |

Awesome place! Just returned from a week at Marlene's villa (over Thanksgiving, 2006). Very quiet location, access to two rather 'private' beaches. One has good waves, best for adults, the other has small-to-medium waves, great for young kids and adults. This is the ideal place to use as a quiet retreat and basecamp to explore the amazing island of St. Maarten / St. Martin. In my opinion, best for adults seeking romantic getaway, or a small family looking for wonderfully portable adventure.

We just returned from our week at Villa Star, and we are already trying to plan a return trip! The view from the villa deck was magnificent, simply breathtaking! The villa is nicely decorated, with all the comforts of home! Marlene has wonderful suggestions on where to dine and on special day trips. I would suggest that anyone going to St. Maarten for the first time try to make it a two week vacation, there is so much to do and see! Thank you Marlene for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
Best Regards, Ladora, Mark and Zoe |

| We had a lovely stay at your villa- the view is absolutely spectacular! We could not have asked for a better place. The villa is a comfortable, secluded retreat with more ammentities than the average: well appointed kitchen, lovely furniture, great master bed and bath rooms, refreshing pool, wonderful deck, access to the beach and great AC. Its furnishings are fabulous as are the weather, oceanside scenery, and starlit skies at night. It is a place to suit many moods- we look forward to vacationing here again. |

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon of 9 days at Marlene’s villa in Guana Bay. The villa and surrounding areas are everything that she claims and MORE! The villa is spacious, immaculate and beautifully decorated. The views of the ocean and island are spectacular. We had our coffee on the verandah every morning, looking at the waves breaking below us. Every evening, when we got home, we relaxed on the verandah again and looked for shooting stars.
There is a gas grill on the verandah for dinners at home, and a small cooler available for days at the beach. The air conditioner is quite powerful and provided more than enough cooling for us.
Guana Bay is on the Dutch side of the island, less than 7 minutes from dining and shopping in Phillipsburg, but light years away in terms of peace and quiet.
Marlene has quite a gem in Guana Bay and we look forward to visiting again.
Thank you, Marlene, for making our honeymoon truly a trip to remember. |

| I have been to Villa Star on several occasions and at different times of the year. Every visit has been wonderful! The villa is most comfortable and the perfect setting to return to after a busy day out and about on the island. I will be back again soon! |

| The owner of Villa Star has just remodeled the villa inside and out. The place looks great! The views from the deck are outstanding. It is the closest villa to the pool and has a nice dsl internet connection for guests. The caretaker, Simon makes you feel like you are family. |
