| My husband and I stayed at the Nakano apartment in November and December 2008. It was the best vacation we've ever had! The apartment was wonderful and had every amenity we needed. We were especially pleased that we had our own washer and high-speed Internet access. The location of the apartment was so convenient. It is in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood yet just a short distance away you could go to the Nakano Broadway or take the subway to any one of Tokyo's other neighborhoods. Makoto was a wonderful help to us. He gave us a lot of information about the neighborhood and helpful tips for how to use the rail system and the Suica cards. We had such a wonderful experience that we are definitely planning on coming back for Summer 2010! :) |

| My husband and I stayed in the 1brm apartment for only 4 days in October, it could have easily been more. Everything about our stay was great. Contact with Makono made getting there very easy, he he was also very generous with his time and information for us. The apartment was a pleasure to stay in, so much better than a hotel. After long days getting around Tokyo it was lovely to have our own place to come home to. The supermarket nearby was bonus, wondering through looking at all the Japanese ingredients, love the variety of mushrooms.I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a bit of an authentic stay in Tokyo. |

Highly recommend this great apartment in Nakano - excellent location, close to fantastic shopping, resturants, and railway station, Makoto was very helpful. We would definitely stay at this apartment again, it's compact, but has everything needed to make your holiday a comfortable one.

I stayed here for almost 2 weeks with another adult and a 12 year-old child. I had been to Tokyo before and stayed at a hotel in Shibuya, but I must say that staying in this apartment was such a better experience.
Makoto was amazing - he met us at the Nakano station and walked us to the apartment (which was only about 5 min away). He answered all of our questions and even showed me where I could find a yummy veggie restaurant.
The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable and feel at home. And having the washing machine is a huge bonus.
The area itself is incredible - loads of shops and restaurants and a great grocery shop on the walk from the station to the apartment.
And the public transport system is easy, safe, and super accessible. You can get anywhere you want to go with ease.
I am already planning another trip back and will definitely stay here again. |

The apartment was well-equipped and located in a great area. Nakano has an abundance of shops & restaurants, but is quieter than other parts of Tokyo. Rail connections are excellent, both towards Tokyo and westbound (a trip to Lake Kawaguchi to see Mount Fuji took just over 2 hours). We appreciated Makoto's hospitality very much and he answered our questions extensively. We would highly recommend this apartment and will definitely be back on our next trip to Tokyo! |

2 adults and 2 children (11, 13) stayed here for 1 week. Had a great time. Makoto was very helpful, he picked us up at the station and dropped us off. Location was very convenient. The condo was clean and the washing machine was especially helpful. My son liked the television. The 7/11 downstairs was handy to get money from the ATM. BTW there is an inexpensive sushi place in Nakano about 5 minutes away called Standing Sushi Bar, north exit from the Nakano Station.
Would highly recommend staying here. Will be back next time I am in Tokyo. |

| Great place to stay. Far better than the rate you will get at a hotel and there are washing facilities, kitchen, etc. It is nearby the train and plenty of shops and eateries. Makato is very helpful. He provided maps and made suggestions of places to go. He even brought a gift upon my arrival. The unit is cleaner than some hospitals I've seen and I'd definitely recommend. I went in Oct 2008 and plan to go again in April 2009. Arwann |

Our family of four (which includes 2 teenage boys) stayed at the Nakano property for a week while on vacation last August 2008. Our experience was extremely positive and Makoto was a very gracious host and resource during our stay in Tokyo. The apartment was comfortable and within a short walk of the train station and other amenities. It was located in a quiet neighborhood and we felt safe during our entire stay. We plan on returning to Tokyo soon and again staying at the apartment in Nakano--hopefully it will be available for us! |

| We (4 adults and 1 baby) stayed in Nakano Apartment 2BR for almost 2 weeks last December. It was a pleasant stay for us all! We enjoyed the location very much - being away from the busy areas but at the same time being very convenient for travelling within Tokyo. Makoto was extremely nice and helpful to us in every ways. We will be back again in the near future =) |

| The rental experience was very positive. We were greeted at the Nakano metro station and walked a short distance to the rental property. A helpful welcome package included information about the metro system, the rental amenities, and local events. My wife and I found the rental's size and amenities (stove, refrigerator, shower/tub, toilet, bed, table, television, etc.) to be very comfortable. We would highly recommend this Nakano rental to anyone planning to vacation in Tokyo. |

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Nakano apartment for about 2 weeks - what an incredible experience! We immediately fell in love with Tokyo. Staying in the apartment was very convenient and comfortable. Great location and privacy - it provided us with a much needed place to rest from walking around all day or dancing all night! Makoto is an incredibly helpful host. He made all the transactions very simple and straight forward. Knowing that he was around to give us guidance or help whenever we should need it was very comforting. The apartment came with all sorts of gadgets, but the washing machine especially was a lifesaver! Thanks again Makoto!! Give us a shout if you ever come to Vancouver!

The apartment was great! You have everything you need and the rooms look exactly like they do on the internet. Makoto was extremely friendly and helpful and he gave us a lot of important information. Thank you very much! :-) The location of the apartment is perfect, only a few minutes from the station and it takes only 4 minutes to Shinjuku by train. The supermarket is also very close which is very convenient. We were definitely content with everything and would stay here again! :-) |

The apartment itself has everything you need. The kitchen and laundry facilities are very convienent. The unit was also very quiet. Makato is very helpful and will make sure you are settled in properly. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Tokyo. |

We've just returned from a Month's stay in the Nakano apartments and have to say that we were more than pleased with the accommodation.
The aprtment is small but perfect as a base for exploring the city, and is only a couple of minutes from the station making it quick and easy to hit either the overground or underground easily.
Makoto was fantastic and extremely helpful, the information he gave on events during our stay was great and used to full effect :)
We would definitely recommend and will hopefully be using again in the very near future! |

Our 2 week stay in the Nakano apartment was the best vacation we've ever had. Makoto was very friendly and extremely organized and helpful to us during our stay. Nakano is a great neighborhood with lots of places to eat and shop, and it's very easy to get to other parts of Tokyo using the JR train lines very near the apartment. I would recommend this stay to anyone who is visiting Japan. Our favorite part of Nakano was the Broadway Mall (part of the Sun Mall), with 4 floors worth of a toy collectors dream. Thanks, Makoto! |

| Four of us recently spent a week in the Nakano apartment. Makoto warned us beforehand that the place would be too small for more than three, but there were two extra futons in the closet and we only used the place to sleep, so we found it perfect for our needs. The best part about the apartment is that it's close to the attractions of Tokyo yet in a peaceful neighborhood, making it an appealing place to return to after a long day of exploring. Many thanks to Makoto for all his help! |

| We stayed in the apartment for a week and found it a perfect base for out Tokyo visit. We were greeted by the very friendly Mr. Makoto and given all the information needed. The apartment is well located near great restaurants and a supermarket, but best of all is how central you are to anywhere in Tokyo thanks to the great train/subway system. We felt at home immediately and will stay there again. |

This is the perfect place to stay for one or two people. The apartment is small, but very cozy and functional. Save yourself the hassle of packing shampoo, conditioner, soap... it's all there for you to use. Makoto is terrific! He picked us up from the subway station, helped in explaining the subway system and answered all of the questions we had. The week spent in Tokyo was fantastic and the apartment was the perfect place to go home to at the end of every busy day. Thanks Makoto! |

I stayed at the Nakano apt for 4 nights in May 08 and was very happy with my stay. The apt was spotless and had the convenience of an internet connection, a washing machine and detergent, all kitchen appliances you could need, and even towels and shampoo! The Nakano metro station is next to a shopping mall and an area with numerous cheap restaurants. The apt is a few blocks away from the busy district and is very quiet at night.
Makoto was extremely helpful and informative, and was accessible by phone throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this apt for 1-2 persons. It was a nice alternative to staying in a hotel and felt like home. |

| My husband and I stayed at the Nakano apartment in mid April 2008. Contacting Makoto upon our arrival and him meeting us at the Nakano station all went very smoothly (especially for our first trip to Japan!) Makoto showed us the way to the apartment explaining the area to us on the way. He showed us how to use things in the apartment. The apartment was nice and clean with all the amenities you need. We took advantage of traveling light by using the washing machine and then hanging clothes out to dry. This apartment is in a great location. Only a short 5 minute walk to the train station and then you can get absolutely anywhere in Tokyo and beyond. We had rail passes and used them all the time. There are hundreds of restaurants nearby as well and a good sized grocery store. We enjoy the convenience of renting vacation apartments and feel they are much more cost effective than hotels. Makoto came to the apartment for our departure and we told him of all our travels! A very nice guy indeed. Then we headed out for our week in Kyoto. All in all, a great vacation in Japan. |

For up to 2 people this is an excellent place, an easy to get to location without the constant noise of other parts of Tokyo. Prices around the building are also very reasonable with a good enough selection. Makoto is super nice & helpful. We spent a few nights here at the beginning of April & we were satisfied with everything. Another great thing is that there are small courtesy things in the apartment that are provided here (not so at other places): dishwasher liquid & other kitchen items. They would cost a lot to buy & not to be used up during the stay. We highly recommend the place. |

| Just spent a week at the Nakano apartment at the beginning of April - right on time for the Cherry Blossoms. All I ca ndo is reiterate what the other comments have said so well, this place is fantastic. Every thing you need in the apartment is there, the internet access was perfect, the neighborhood is lively during the day and dead quiet at night... you couldn't ask for a better base of operations in Tokyo. My brother and I stayed at the 1 bedroom apartment during the New Year holidays and we couldn't have had a better time. Makoto was super helpful in getting everything prepared for our stay, including providing a futon for my brother to sleep on, and his responses to my emails or telephone calls (I live in Japan) were always done in a timely fashion. If you are staying for a few days, I would follow Makoto's advice in purchasing a SUICA card for the subways and trains, it saves you the hassle of buying tickets at every station and it's easy to refill with money.
I will be making another trip to Tokyo in the near future and I am definitely going to stay at the apartment over a hotel, it's affordable, convenient, and the location is great. |

We stayed here during Christmas this year for a couple of days on a layover to Thailand. This place is conveniently located close to shops, a market, pubs, and the rail station. The station was our means of transportation and having it conveniently close was awesome. The place is small but it did everything we could possibly need and Makoto went above and beyond to make it a great experience.

We stayed in Nakano for one week. The apartment is as described on the web site. It is small but very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We were greeted by Makoto who gave us a detailed description of all appliances and how things worked, this was really great as we didn't have to guess. There was also detailed instruction. He was very helpful and very cordial. It is very easy to get to once you have your bearings from the station.
We got good advice from Makoto prior to our trip re NEX Suica card (card purchased at Narita, similar to London Oyster card) and this save us a lot of time and hassle on the Train.
The apartment was very well equipped down to iron, sewing repair kit etc. We hope to stay there again. |

I recently spent 9 nights in the 1-BR apartment and highly recommend it. Nakano is a vibrant and charming neighborhood. As many others have noted, the streets around the station and near the apartment are buzzing with activity and convenient shops and eateries, yet the apartment itself is on a quiet residential street. Nakano’s location just one stop from Shinjuku is excellent for getting around Tokyo.
The apartment is just as described and pictured – convenient location, spotless, and well-equipped with everything for a comfortable stay. It’s compact but worked well for me as a single traveler. Would be tight for two; couples may prefer one of LiveInAsia’s larger apartments.
One practical reminder for North American guests: Bring an adapter plug if you’re bringing any electric/electronic appliances. Japanese outlets are 2-prong.
Makoto provided an excellent tourist info packet and orientation to the neighborhood, and was extremely helpful from beginning to end. Thank you, Makoto and LiveInAsia, for a wonderful stay. This apartment will be my new “home in Tokyo,” and I’ll be back for another visit!

My brothers and I spent a week in this Apt. We have nothing but good to say about this Apt, Japan, and Makoto.
Our vacation was for 2 weeks, and the first week we spent traveling from city to city.
On a side note, I would advise all travelers: PACK LIGHT! There will be lots of train stops and transfers with no guarantees of escalators or elevators. The veteran traveler usually caries a backpack on wheels, and while that is not probable, a carry-on with wheels is the smart way to go. We packed suitcases that were slightly larger than carry-ons and they were the bane of our vacation.
Anyway, the apt was located in a quiet residential street. The neighbors were friendly and nice to talk to, and there is a bustling little mall near the train station.
The actual apt was meticulously clean and spacious. Makoto patiently met us at the train station, and answered any and all questions we had. Additionally he provided us with pamphlets that had maps and highlights about the city.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend first-timers and veterans to stay here. You will not be disappointed! |

What a wonderful place to stay. Having lived in Japan several years ago in a variety of conditions, I wasn't sure what to expect. But the apartment was beautifully kept, perfect for a vacation stay, and surprisingly convenient for metropolitan Tokyo. The apartment is buried in a quiet neighborhood, but many stores and (really good) restaurants are located a few steps away. The staff members are full of useful information for first-timers and are the kindest of hosts. I consider myself fortunate to have found this service, and will DEFINITELY stay with them again. |

| What a wonderful place to stay. Mr Kuno was so hospitable and the location was incredible. Staying in Nakano is like going to Tokyo in a former pre-20th century period. Small lanes, restraunts, bars, shops etc. have a dense village ethos. So convient to the station but a respit from the intense Tokyo street scene. We will be back to visit family and this is our new "home" in Tokyo. I more than recommend this location and accomodation. |

The only thing that prevents me from giving my whole-hearted recommendation for these apartments (I stayed in two of them) is the fact that I was charged for a total of seven nights and two $65 cleaning fees despite having stayed only six nights... four at the beginning of my trip and two at the end of my trip. I don't know what the misunderstanding was, but they have been quite unwilling to give me a refund. If you break up your stay like I did, you will not get the weekly discounted price either, apparently. Just so you know.
Other than that unfortunate situation, I loved staying in Nakano. After exeriencing the unrelenting hustle-bustle of Tokyo during the day, I felt a sense of relief coming back to Nakano which has a friendly, small-town feel by comparison – and yet is still pretty lively itself, with a plethora of restaurants, bars and shopping. Coming from the States at the beginning of my trip, the apartments seemed very small, but then after two weeks of traveling around Japan and staying in various hotels, it seemed extremely spacious when I returned! Nakano is very well situated on the JR Chuo line, which connects to Shinjuku (1 express stop) and Tokyo stations (where you catch the Shinkansen). For me, the location is the strongest selling point for this place.
I hate giving a negative review... but being overcharged is not a pleasant feeling. Prior to coming to Japan, I had originially booked a hotel in Ueno for the two days end of my trip, but asked Makoto to help me cancel that reservation after arriving, so I could stay in the apartment instead. And this is how I was rewarded for giving them the extra business. Too bad. |

My daughter and I stayed in this lovely apartment in Nakano for almost two weeks in May. We were the first to rent this particular unit so everything was brand new! It was a perfect location. The train station is a short walk and the area, although residential, is close to everything....shopping, retaurants and convenience stores. Nakano is only one train stop from Shunjuku one of the busiest areas of Tokyo. The apartment was fully equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. I will certainly be returning to Tokyo as my son lives there and I will definitely stay at this Nakano apartment again. |

My partner and I were very glad we decided to stay in this apartment as apposed to a hotel in Tokyo. Taking the Chuo line into Shinjuku was very convenient as it is the next stop from Nakano. Nakano is a very cute neighborhood in which to get an authentic experience of Japanese life in Tokyo. There is a great market not 2 minutes walk from the apartment as well as many other stores. The apartment is perfectly suited for two people and very quiet. Makoto is probably one of the nicest people I ever met, and is obviously well traveled. I would recommend this apartment with no hesitation to anyone looking for an alternative to the usual hotel environment. Thank You again Makoto-san!

| We stayed in the apartment for a week in February. It's in a great and safe neighorhood, with a supermarket that is open until 1 am, with great supplies, and a bakery that has fresh bread and pastries every day. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around for food and other needs, but make sure you have Japanese cash, because they do not take dollars or credit cards. My U.S. ATM only worked at the Nakano Station post office or the Shinjuku Station post office, but the local banks machines pushed my ATM cards right back at me. We felt like we were in a very clean and civilized part of Tokyo, and in many ways our stay was accentuated by the fact that we were in an authentic Tokyo neighborhood. Another pleasant surprise was that Tokyo is not expensive if you stay in this neighborhood. Before we went there, we were told that a cup of coffee it $10, etc. We had heard about how expensive it is to be a tourist there, but the prices in the supermarket were just like in the United States, and in the clean and fine neighborhood restaurants we could find plenty of entrees in their menus for $8 - $15 per plate. We rented 2 apartments, and they were both clean and free of any odors that you may find in rooms that get occupied by many people over time. Makoto's service in incredible. He has a special gift in learning your needs, and in helping you within his abilities. |

Fantastic apartment. Compact but with all the needed amenities. Loved the sunken bath. I'm a middle-aged woman who was traveling alone. Felt very safe in the neighborhood, coming and going at all hours. The apartment location to the subway line is ideal. Access to all the sights in Toykyo.
Mr. Seiji was a delight. Lots of good info on local groceries, restaurants, internet, etc. And he generously lugged all my overloaded bags back to the station when I departed. Thanks again. |

| Before I went to Japan, I had no idea what I wanted to see and I had no idea which hotels would be located near places I might want to visit. Now, after having gone to Japan and staying in different hotels as well as the Nakano apartment, I can say with confidence that the Nakano apartment is anyone's best option. If you're like me, you'll be completely amazed to find that anything you could want to visit in Tokyo is about 1 to 3 stops in either direction from Nakano. The rail lines are magnificent, as we traveled to our desired destinations with ease (without getting lost once). The kitchen, living room, quiet neighborhood (literally a few steps from shopping, eating, train station, night life, etc) all create a warm "at home" feeling that helps ease the stresses of traveling. I'm so compelled to give the Nakano apartment a great review because I'm not sure I could have had as phenomenal a trip without having stayed there. Japan is also not the same if you haven't interacted w/ Mr. Makoto. His personality matches anyone's style and it's quite a treat to have such a cool Japanese native just a phone call away. Thanks for everything Makoto and LiveInAsia. Words simply cannot describe the way a visit to Japan has touched my life and your hospitality is very much a part of that very positive experience. I am anxious to try your other apartments during my next visits to Japan. Makoto, I honestly cannot thank you enough. Please contact me if you ever come to Los Angeles and I will help you in any way that I can. Arigatou! |

| Before I went to Japan, I had no idea what I wanted to see and I had no idea which hotels would be located near places I might want to visit. Now, after having gone to Japan and staying in different hotels as well as the Nakano apartment, I can say with confidence that the Nakano apartment is anyone’s best option. If you’re like me, you'll be completely amazed to find that anything you could want to visit in Tokyo is about 1 to 3 stops in either direction from Nakano. The rail lines are magnificent, as we traveled to our desired destinations with ease without getting lost once. | Indeed it's a good apartment. An all-in-one which caters for small family vacation. Whatsmore its located near to the provisions and amenities. Two points to note on our apartment will be the washing machine and bed. The machine emits a very loud sound which may disturb neighbours. The bed, is a bit small for 2 'rolling' adults. Overall, ii desu. Very good place. |

| Incredibly convenient location, less than 5 minute walk from Nakano station, which is a quick five minute train ride to Shinjuku. Also very convenient to many shops and restaurants, including a grocery store. The apartment is small, but had everything we needed, even a washing machine. Makoto-san was very friendly and helpful. |

The apartment is very conveniently located, clean and well equipped. It's on the ground floor in a quiet neighborhood about 5 minutes walk from Nakano station. There's easy access to shopping, a grocery store, internet access and transportation. Kuno Makoto-san was very kind and helpful and provided me with things I didn't expect like toiletries, tourist information and even an offer to take me to visit some sites around Tokyo during my stay. The apartment is fairly small, but comfy—I was there alone and it was perfect; it would work for two if you're close! I will absolutely stay there again on a future visit—it's just ideal, and a good value for money. For the otaku out there, Nakano is a great place for shopping (Mandarake is nearby). Domo arigatou gozaimashita! |

| This apartment is in a great non-touristy area. Loads of food and shopping options, and a 24-hour internet nearby. Seiji the meeter/greeter was great. |

My girlfriend and I rented this apartment for a week and absolutely loved it. It's perfect for a couple and is located in a quiet, yet convenient part of town. It's a 5-minute walk from the train station (and just a 3-minute train ride into the main station in Tokyo). The neighborhood is quiet yet lively; there's a supermarket nearby, as well as a ton of restaurants and shops.
The apartment itself is fully furnished and extremely comfortable. There's plenty of hot water and the heat works really well (we went in the winter).
The manager, Seiji, is incredibly sweet and accommodating.
We highly recommend this apartment. |

Just want to say that this place is excellent, not just for the value but also for its location and quality of the apartment.
If you are looking for a easy stay in Japan then this place is for you as it is located 5mins walk from the Nakano Train Station. In between you will find the Life Store (For all your food needs, and the bakery makes the best melon bread). If you are into Anime/Manga you will love this place as the main Mandarake shop plus numerous other anime related shops are just up the road.
The apartment also comes with everything one might need, from cooking to heating to washing.
All in all, this apartment is an excellent place to stay and I will happily stay there again.

The Nakano apartment is in a fabulous location. Very clean and comfortable. Best for one person but two people may snuggle in and enjoy the close proximity to market and good restaurants. We would recommend it to anyone who prefers living in a an apartment over a hotel.

Your apartment in Nakano was perfect! Quiet and in a nice neighborhood, but mere blocks from some great bars and restaurants, and a five minute train ride from Shinjuku. We couldn't have asked for a better place - everything worked out marvelously. Even the kitchen came in handy - we cooked a wonderful dinner of Kobe beef and prawns from Tsukiji.
I'd like to thank you for showing us around town on the day we arrived. Again, thanks for everything.
Cheers, Jeffrey Contray
