La Creche was small but perfectly formed & had everything we needed. Brittany has some stunning beaches & we did have some lovely weather to enjoy them. On rainy days we went to Oceanopolis, Morlaix (beautiful buildings) & further afield to Carentec & St Brieuc (worth a visit so don't be put off by it being 'industrialised'). Beware the local supermarket doesn't open on a Sunday though & some restaurants close the odd day. Our 3 year old loved the animals & the gardens, he also loved the toys in the house.

We stayed in the Long House during the last two weeks of August 2009. There were six adults and five children under seven years old. We found the facilities in the property to be ideal and it was good that we could leave the youngsters to roam the gardens as there was very little that
they could harm themselves with. The problem was usually with each other. They all loved feeding the rabbits and eating the raspberries which were beginning to ripen (sorry Debby).

Debby was always available for advice when we needed it.

The single large room downstairs was good as we could keep an eye on the children while preparing food. In the evening the only sounds to be heard were those self inflicted following the compulsory glasses due to the French wine taken between the children's bedtime and ours.

A morning visit to the bread shop next to the supermarket was compulsory (it opens at 0700) and the Casino supermarket was also handy. If we visit again we would have planned the food shopping a little better and
used the Le Clerc in Morlaix as the meat is substantially cheaper there. The Tuesday visit to the market is compulsory as you can buy huitres (oysters) for about £3.50 a dozen. There is a stubby knife in the kitchen drawer to enable you to get them opened up.

We would not hesitate to use Kerdalidec again or recommend it to others.

Winter stay. It is so quiet here and especially the silence at night and the starry skies are remarkable. We liked the simplicity of the way of life and the authenticity of this region of Brittany. It was also wonderful to have an English speaking hostess to arrange trips for us as we struggled with our hopeless French. Debby looked after us perfectly and was of assistance to us many times.

Brittany for the first time and we loved it. We didn't go far because the surroundings near and in Plougasnou are magnificent. Our tips: the beautiful garden around the cottages, Plougasnou beach, Locquirec harbour and restaurants, Tuesday market in Plougasnou.

2nd January 2009......what a "Bonne Année" in Kerguélen. The house was perfect for our gang of 14. The weather was great too....crisp sunny days, bitterly cold nights but the house was very warm. Shopping and cooking for 14 was challenging but good fun. Morlaix is a stunning little town with some lovely restaurants. Looking forward to coming back. The Bright family.

28 October - 4 November 2007 in the Wellhouse.......Very enjoyable week blessed with almost non-stop sunshine. Debby was immensely helpful and welcoming. Highlights include:
- Coastal walks north from Térénez at sunset,
- Jazz concert and drinks at the café/bookshop Caplan & Co on the coast near Beg an Fry,
- A walk in the woods at Huelgoat where my daughter went for an involuntary, impromptu bathe, fully clothed, while attempting to cross a river,
- Guerlesquin, atmospheric village with an austere, granitic charm,
- Locquirec, with its picture-postcard prettiness and slight whiff of high society,
- Sunset walks at Carantec beach under a dramatic sky, the sea dotted with myriad rocks and islands, the darkness pierced by the lighthouse on the Isle de Batz,
- Tuesday market at Plougasnou, convivial atmosphere, good produce,
- The night sky.

If Paradise is half as nice ... From 3-10 june 06: 16 hrs a day sunshine ... deep blue see; so many lonely beaches; what a fun in our MG were the many corniches along the coast. Plougasnou is excellent as a centre for trips.
The gite is very complete and comfortable. Debbie and especially Phil are good hosts. What would be more to long for?

Our 2 week stay in September this year fulfilled all our expectations; the house (Longhouse) is comfortable and spacious and the garden area is safe and great for our kids, who enjoyed the animals and slide/swings etc.
The area is beautiful with plenty of nice beaches and it is also very convenient to the Roscoff ferry, we will definitely be back.
The house we were in is one of four together including the owners Phil and Debby’s house. For us this was a great positive as we made good use of Phil and Debby’s baby listening service and restaurant booking service! Phil and Debby are great hosts, always available to help in whatever way but not at all obtrusive. Being beside the other two houses was great too as we made good friends during the time with the people staying there.
We would highly recommend Kerdalidec to anyone looking for an enjoyable family holiday.

The 2 weeks here have fulfilled the high expectations of all concerned from the youngest 17 months, a toddler and two young pre-schoolers to the older children (also known as parents) as well as a highly tolerant friend without children. Positives for those with under-5s
- Garden with great selection of climbing frames and animals to commune with
- Beaches with sand a great rock pools which are perfect for toddlers who like to potter around and the older ones who like to go crabbing and just generally explore
- Strong possibility of the other houses having children too so as to entertain your children
- Polo the donkey
Positives for the adults
- Walk to the boulangerie for that ultimate French breakfast
- Excellent dining facilities al fresco and within
Recommendations - Le Diben to see the working side of Plougasnou and the fishing boats (also buy fresh fish and seafood) - Great chees in Plestin les Grèves Sunday market - Watching shooting stars - To entertain your children try stuffing the soft animals into the rafters! -

Looking forward to our return stay in August 2006.

Brittany was full of unexpected pleasures. We adore the house and garden and appreciated the hospitality of Debby and Phil. The walk to St Jean du Doigt was a favorite. The four artists in our group were very succesful with their work and held a little exhibition at the end of the week to which all the other guests were invited. We liked the wine store on the corner. If you fail to enjoy some muscadet with local oysters or shrimps then you shouldn't have bothered to come! The beaches are amazing, so incredibly unspoilt. Everything tastes better here too...yogurt, chocolate, Breton cookies, beets really everything. Nice diversity of birds. The donkey across the lane makes amusing noises. We are so glad we came and we leave healthier and happier with better moods and better tans. We hope to come again.

Thanks for a lovely relaxing Easter holiday. Kids constantly entertained in the garden, loved feeding the animals, specially Billy the goat and the rabbits, and playing pirates. Adults appreciated the footbal pitch too! Children want to smuggle Billy home with us, unfortunately no room due to all the wine we've bought. Coastal path from Beg an Fry a spectacular walk. Dourduff en mer has a great restaurant Café du Port with fresh sea food and you can sit out on the terrace watching the boats, very un-pretentious. All beaches amazing - even in the rain. A great place to stay with lovely hosts. Thanks.

A lovely house,we've been made to feel very welcome by Debby,Phil and the girls and have found some wonderful places to visit. Morlaix is a beautiful town with amazing architecture and an interesting history and some lovely café-bars; our 3 year old enjoyed what he described as the biggest ice-cream in the world! We've managed to find some great beaches, very safe for children and clean but the local one at Plougasnou remained a favourite all week for it's rock-pools teeming with life. We enjoyed a really interesting festival at St Jean du Doigt the next village, seeing dancing, a bagpipe/drum band and procession in local costumes which happens once a year in honour of St John the Baptist whose little finger is kept in a silver box in the church! We were lucky to be in the right place at the right time. The market on Tuesday morning in Plougasnou's pretty town square was well worth a visit too...we walked in from the house and nought lovely fruit and vegetables, freshly cooked paella and a gorgeous local delicacy called Kouign Aman made of buttes, flour and sugar. Not good for the waistline! We made a trip to Brest (45 minutes) to visit Oceanopolis the sea-world centre. It was a really wonderful day out as interesting for a 3 year old as for us, especially when a diver fed the fish from inside the tank (another bonus was that under-4's go free) All in all it has been a really amazing week in a truly beautiful, unspoilt part of France, full of very friendly locals and we've also been pretty lucky with the weather.
