THANK YOU! Summer 2009 was a FABULOUS SUCCESS! I was SOLD OUT until school started again in late August. The comments in my Guestbook were again, glowing. I'm so grateful to have so many wonderful, friendly people stay in my home for Summer 2009. THANK YOU! All of Texas suffered some historically hot days -- which made Mustang Island a great getaway. I hope you'll consider visiting me in 2010! Yours, Sonny

Well...it's time to start thinking about another summer for my guests! The calls and emails are starting to come in at a brisk pace now. I'm already booked a good 3-4 weeks of the three month season! Will YOU be my guest this year in 2009?
I'm so THRILLED by how my guests received the condo last year after it's NEW updates. It's so "artful" now! So many new things...furnishings! I love it so! But it will soon be time for me to jump in my little car and spend my summer up in Minnesota with beloved friends/family.
I HOPE YOU HAVE WONDERFUL SUMMER 2009! And I HOPE THAT I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH to HAVE YOU and YOUR FAMILY AS MY GUESTS!
Gratefully,

Thanks for checking out my listing!
I know you'll agree: this is a very special place. The moment I set foot inside this exceptional oceanfront condo, I knew I was "home." It took me 3 years, but I was finally able to leave Minneapolis, MN and make this my year-round residence. EXCEPT for SUMMERS! That's when YOU are invited to live here and enjoy the breath-taking view of the Gulf of Mexico. New in 2008: interior design by J. Victoria Mohr, an emerging local design talent and artist, who transformed this place from a run-of-the-mill condo...into a warm and inviting place; stylishly current and worthy of a "Coastal Living" magazine photo shoot.
I'm saddened how I must leave each summer (my work requires it)... but trust that remarkable guests...their friends and family will enjoy its beauty and be kind caretakers for me.
Enjoy the ocean while I'm away? Thank you!

| A breath of fresh ocean air and a marvelous view greets you at Sonny's place!! Our time in Port A was fun and relaxing, finding sea shells, walking the beach, watching the dolphins, and savoring the wonderful local cuisine. A very lovely place to stay!!!!! |

Sonny's at the Sea Gull is everything that was promised and more. This was our first year of traveling to Port Aransas. We are planning to go back to Sonny's Hideaway again next month for our third visit!
Sonny's Hideaway is like a home away from home. All you need to bring are your clothes, a good book, a favorite bottle of wine, or perhaps a kite or a bike.
I love to walk on the beach and look for shells while the surf rolls in and out. When I feel like lounging here is not a better view than from the balcony. Even if the weather should be inclement it is cosy to sit in side (28 ft of floor to ceiling windows as promised) with a good book while enjoying the sounds and the many changing colors and moods of the gulf. If you are lucky you'll catch a breath of Oleander mixed with the fragrant smells of the sand dunes and fresh sea air.
Although Port Aransas is a relaxing little fishing village we found a surprising variety of excellent dining experiences. My first trip a friend gave us some of their fresh catch from the day which was later served up with all the fixings at a local restaurant. If you prefer to stay and dine in with a view, ( and the view is just as it is in the photo) the kitchen has all you need to prepare a gourmet meal.
The people are very warm and friendly. If you take an adventure on the ferry to Aransas Pass you might catch the dolphins playing along side you. You are sure to see the pelicans and I hear in season the mystical little humming bird.
If shopping is your cup of tea you will find a variety of shops in Port A (as the locals call it). Also Corpus Christi has every shopping experience you might want or need.
With two bedrooms there is plenty of privacy. After a day of fresh sea air I enjoyed a good nights sleep. Next time I am going to have the room with the windows!
I would recommend this beach getaway whether you are looking for a romantic spot for two, a family holiday, or a getaway with the gal pals.
