We spent a long weekend getting the house ready for next year. We painted the downstairs bedroom and removed the fence between the pool and the house. We are very happy with the way the bedroom looks, and the pool area is much larger. Now you can get relax under the deck out of the sun, and still watch the kids in the pool.

Samantha and Dan,
We are back to reality now and can't sun ourselves on the deck while eating breakfast or have pool volleyball tournaments anymore but I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful, relaxing week we had . This was our first house rental vacation , but it surely won't be the last. We always came back exhausted from previous vacations because you just don't want to be cooped up in a hotel room. We came back refreshed from this vacation. Thank you for all of your hospitality and all of the treats that you had waiting for us. When I tell people about it they are just blown away.
For people who may not have visited your house before, I would suggest bringing a 4x4 vehicle if you want to see the wild ponies( we didn't because of gas prices). The cost for rentals is most likely far more than you would spend on the difference between your 4x4 and a more economical car. We were familiar with the wild ponies in Maryland - where you can drive to an accessible area and then just walk on the beach where they are and did not realize that it was baja city to get to these ponies. So we did not get to see the them this time, but hope to return in the future, a little wiser , with our 4x4 ready to find them. The vehicles that they rent only hold 4 people, so we would have had to rent 2 vehicles -well over $300- but we'll be back... My grown kids have already said that they would love to return. By the way - your beaches have the most beautiful smooth white sand and your water temp and clarity is far superior to the beaches up north.
Thanks again Joe, Kathy, Joseph, Cara, Karissa & Matthew |

Enjoyed a beautiful week with family (Mom, Dad, brother and family, sister and family and ours makes 15). We didn't do any work, just enjoyed the beach every day! Drove to the Avalon Pier for a day of fishing, saw horses in Carova and played on the beach. The water was nice (64-73) and the surf was fun. We got takeout at the new Mexican place (Bad Bean Taquiera) and it was pretty good. although I still miss Starboard's Deli.
We parked two Suburbans in the yard, one car and two pickups in the drive. The long term plan is to expand the driveway, but that'll have to wait until next year.

We've been doing spring cleaning (carpets, windows, painting, kitchen, etc.) the past few weekends and have even been able to get out on the beach. March 22 was beautiful! We played softball on the beach and it was warm enough to break a sweat and actually put your feet in the water. We saw more fish on the beach than usual - mostly small (12" and less). Too many people to find really cool shells.
March 15 weekend was raining again and we drove up to Carova to see the horses. We only saw two, but the kids loved driving through the puddles and over the dirt roads. Got out on the beach between the rainshowers and was able to find some neat shells.

I just enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the house. It rained hard on Saturday, but we enjoyed the fireplace and watched videos. Not much to choose from off season for late dinner (8:00). Very windy Sunday, so we drove on the beach to Carova. Almost lost the Suburban in a few puddles! Saw about 15 horses, some right next to the road as we drove by. Even in the winter we had a great stay!

The house is big enough for the whole family. It is a great place, close to the ocean.

The house is big enough for the whole family - That's good! We supplied the house with pot holders, dish cloths and towels. Sorry for the oversight! Also, we are looking into expanding the driveway to fit more than 4 cars at a time.
