Thanks to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this wonderful house for the week. The house and yard were wonderful and made our family vacations one of the best ever! The children enjoyed crabbing and fishing off the dock. We all got accustomed to their screams of "we got another one!" as we relaxed in the hot tub and the pool. The house layout was perfect and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen was great and contained all the kitchen tools necessary to cook great dinners! We definitely would like to return to this house next year and enjoy the relaxation as we did this year. I plan to tell some friends about this home I am sure they would be interested in coming here as well. Thanks again to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this home for the week.
PS. Jake and Chelsea "Bark" their thanks as well.

from the guestbook:
We had a lovely time here. We made good use of the pool and spa, enjoyed the view and took the kayak out every day. Brian (9) loved checking the crab cage 4 or 5 times a day. Blackwater Refuge is beautiful. We bought the driving tour tape from the very nice visitor center there. Its a very informative tape and we left it for future guests to enjoy. If you decide to hike at all from May to Oct buy some bug spray from head to toe is a must. We tried with spray on everything but our heads and it was awful. The university of Maryland's Environmental research center tour at Horn Point is very extensive. Its on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We learned about jellyfish, sturgeon, oysters, and clown fish. Oxford is a quaint little town with pretty houses from the 1800s. There's no real shops to speak of though. We brought our sailboat over and docked it easily. That was great to have it right here. Sadie, the chocolate lab from across the creek came to visit. That was a big hit for us - we love dogs. We loved watching her dig for crabs. Very funny. Thanks so much! We really enjoyed the house. Ester and Walt (80) Lisa (41) Dean (43) Dylan (14) Brian (9) Keegan (5) from Pennsylvania.

From the guestbook:
Thank you for a fun time. The house certainly was large enough for our group of 9 people. Although it rained most of the week, we were able to dodge raindrops to swim in the pool, go fishing off the dock, and enjoy the following:
-The visitor center park for children -St. Michaels "The Crab Claw" -Riding bikes at the Blackwater Refuge -Emilys Fruit stand had nice fresh fruit/veggies -We found that Snappers had better food than Portside if you want to stay local for restaurants. Both had great outdoor dining since they are on the water near the drawbridge -"Waters Edge" at the Hyatt was good for lunch - Very good pina coladas
The Ramsey's were very accomodating to our needs.
Thank you The Purcells

from the guestbook: Ken and Kathy Hennon Juan and Gail Araya Barbara Stark Courtney Trusty Douglas Charland Tally Hayley Our group rents houses for long weekends two or three times a year. We live in the DC metro area and this house was much closer than most of the other houses which made for a great convenience. There was ample room for all 8 of us and we made great use of the pool and hot tub. Sunrise was our favorite time to be outside by the pool, looking at the water and watching our dogs play like kids. For the money this house offered us a great bargain with so much space. For Golfers, cambridge country club is right around the corner but the $52 is a bit pricey for a low quality course. Probably should have gone to Hog Neck and paid the extra $$$. The Blackwater Refuge is very nice and a great place to ride bikes. The quickest was is to go back out at Rt 16 and make a left then right at Egypt Road by the high school. Follow that for 6-8 miles to the dead end and make a left and you'll be at the entrance for the walking trails and bike trails. We ate lots of good food, drank lots of wine, and had lots of fun.

from the guestbook: Thank you for renting the house to the Navy Boys. I'm visiting from California to be a date to a dance for one of the boys. This is one of the few times I've been to the east coast and it was beautiful. Your home has a beautiful location unlike any in California and I love how much personality it has inside. You've done a great job, it was such a pleasure to stsay here. Thank you! - Jen

This was Derrick's 1st family vacation. He enjoyed sleeping in the loft with his parents. There was plenty of room up there. He slept quite well considering Auntie was in the family room telling all kinds of stories. Fun was had by all ! We loved the Jacuzzi! Kitchen well equipped! Jackpot, the dog, loved the freedom. We tried crabbing and fishing but to no avail. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation. Darryl & Jessica and Derrick Hillery, Grandma and Grandpa Hillery, and Bill and Debbie Evans & Jackpot.

(email to owner from Guest after their stay) FYI everyone *greatly* enjoyed your house and we all had a wonderful time together! I think Bayberry Cove is easily one of the best stocked vacation homes I've ever been in -- I think just about *everything* we wanted/needed was right there. And it's so peacful and quiet. We had a very hard time leaving. One guy insisted that he's going to make it his life's goal to someday be able to buy and live in a house just like that. As you predicted, Oscar the dog LOVED being outdoors there. He raced back and forth between the house and pier/beach, ears back, fur flying. And we all got a big laugh when his owner took him out for a walk late at night... and apparently a buck snorted not too far away in the darkness... and Oscar about yanked his owner's arm off, tugging on his lead to get back into the house as quickly as possible :-). We enjoyed it so much, there was also some interest in making this a regular annual get-together -- so it's quite possible that you'll be hearing from us again in the future. Thanks again very much for your hospitality and for creating/sharing such an excellent vacation space!

(from the hand written guestbook) August 20, 2005. It's Saturday morning and we are all so sad to leave this lovely place where we have had such a week. Sitting on the dock with morning coffee, floating in the pool with a glass of wine - divine. The house is so great for family getaways-plenty of room to spread out and plenty of room to be together. Love the dining Room! It's been a great week-our best bets: Higgens soft crabs (call and they'll have them cleaned and ready to go)
Lunch at the Hyatt's water's edge-great food
dinner at Out of the Fire in Easton -ditto
massage at Five Gables in St. Michaels - less expensive than Hyatt (thought not as close)
Saturday & Wednesday, Easton farmer's market.
Silver linings jewelry in St. Michaels
Watching movies at night
hard crabs from Spicer Seafood - just up the road, $20 good sizes
Golf at the Hog Neck Easton Club, nice and well priced, though for a perfectly manicured course, with cold almond scented towels brought around (plus drinks and snacks and you name it) go to the hyatt, first 2 course around $50 a head Hyatt, $110 but it's nice!
So Neat Cafe on Tilghlman Island for breakfast or lunch - delicious and darling.
Just hanging with the family.
Enjoy and thank you.

(from our hand-written guest book:) Aug 12, 2005. We come from California and New York. There are 12 of us in total. We also brought along two dogs. We rowed in the boat, played in the pool, went to D.C. twice, and Assateaque Island. We weren't impressed with Ocean City, but loved this area around Cambridge.
Alyssa, "the wild ponies were great and the DC tour was fun" Anna, "swimming was fun" Becca, "Assateque Island was the best" Laura, "the house was nice" Samie, "just being with my cousins was best" Oma, "I finally got to see our nations capital after immigrating here 47 yrs ago" Sandra, "air conditioning!" Chris, "watching the meteor showers from the jacuzzi" Eileen, "the pool" Mike, "the pool" Rich, "peace and quiet - loved the water" Connie, "family, good times, great views, interesting sights" JP-was very helpful with the dogs, please thank him again for us. If we ever decide to come back to the Eastern Shore we will definitely stay here again. (The Spreitzers, Runsons, and Seymours).
