Enclosed please find the keys to Moose Creek Lodge. Sorry for the delay in returning the keys. Life happens, I guess. We had such a great time in October at the lodge. The location was perfect. The sounds of the creek lulled us to sleep so many nights--it was great. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thanks!! Paul and Helen Stellricht

Marlene,
I have misplaced your address so that's why I'm writing you here, I need to send you the key back and would appreciate getting your address so that I can.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was nice weather. We ventured to Piegon Forge and ate dinner at the Old Mill Restaurant. I highly recommnend this restaurant it was fabulous. I know it's a bit of a ride but well worth it. We did not get to go to Ghost Town because we were having so much fun especially in the hot tub.
Thanks again for a wonderful vacation.

May God be with your brother, you and the rest of your family! Moose Creek Lodge is a very special place for us as well. We chose this cabin after years of visits to the mountains, knowing what we would like in a vacation home in the mountains. I'm very happy that your family was able to find peace in our cabin. Take care and God bless! Marlene

Dear Marlene,
This was our first trip to Moose Creek Lodge and our very first family vacation. My sister and brother in-law came in from Mississippi, my brother from South Carolina, me and my parents from South Carolina and of course Duncan our 5 year old Westie. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. We had the most wonderful time ever. We got in the hot tub and my sister in-law says she laughed so much her ribs hurt! It wa so relaxing, peaceful and serene.
We had a rainy day on Sunday but we stayed in the Lodge and watched some old movies and drank coffee.
It was nice having everything right there. We had a nice cook put on Friday night and went to J. Arthur's for dinner on Saturday night.
My family wants to reserve the Lodge again for next year except this time we want to come in the summertime so we can get out and explore the creeks and waterfalls closely.
Thank you again for your hospitality. It was GREAT!

PS Duncan says "thank you for letting me come with my family I had a great time."

Dear Mari,
We have had the BEST time with you, at both of your cabins. Brittany thinks that Carolina Nights was AWESOME!!!!! She can't decide where she had the best time. Kelly said that she had a lot of un in the hot tub with the bubbles. And she really liked seeing the Elk. She thought it was cool when the one elk was right next to the car. She really enjoyed being here with you and Jorge, we all did.
Thank you SOOOOOOO much for the wonderful time. Britt said you showed us many exciting things. I want to plan for a family vacation next summer, including you and Jorge as part of our family. So, we will have to chat and make plans to reserve a week at Moose Creek Lodge for a week next July.
We love you and can't wait to see you again!!!

We had a wonderful time in the Smokeys, Thanks for having us. A good place to horseback ride is end of the trail. With Goodlow Bark. This was our first to Moose Creek Lodge. I am sure we will be back soon. The kid's playhouse was wonderful for the kids.

Dear Marlene,
Our weekend in Maggie Valley was great! This was our second time here at Moose Creek Lodge. So we went back to some of our favorite spots and discovered some new ones.
One thing that we really enjoyed was our trip to Dillsboro to ride the train to Bryson City. The ride was fun, especially with the open windows and nice breeze. Bryson City was a nice old fashioned little town--almost reminiscent of the 50's or the town from Back To The Future. We especially recommend Pop's Soda Shop. It was great! Another new sight was the Biltmore Mansion in Asheville. It was 8000 acres, and quite an expensive house...if you can even call it that. It has 250 rooms. However, it's a very thorough tour and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with small children or really under 12ish. We also went tubing again in Cherokee, and my sister and I were glad that after a year of pondering, we finally learned (rafting boy's name). We're teenagers, so it's ok. :) Rafting, itself, was fun, too, and we recommend it to anyone, even young families.
We also did more hiking this year, once hiking upward all the way to Sky Drive in search of a good view/photo spot (there wasn't one :() My sister and I also hiked to the waterfall near the playset, and it was pretty. Also slippery. It was an adventure. All in all, it was very beautiful and a great week! Thanks so much! God Bless!

Marlene,
Thank you so much for letting us use your home, it's been a blast!
Every year, my family gets to hang out for a week. We especially love the mountains. This was the perfect place to spend the week. It's remote enough to be quiet, yet in the middle of several "tourist" spots to keep us busy.
We love the creek out front. It's just so relaxing sitting out on the front porch on the swing or in the hot tub. This house is in the perfect spot. I really like this comment book based on what we read in here, we went in search of elk. We made a small mistake and went to Cataloochee Ranch which was at the top of the "hill" next to Ghost Town. It was beautiful at the top but not a place for elk. Luckily the people who worked there gave us a map which we will leave here for future use, that led us to the right spot period. Wow, was that a twisting winding long drive, but totally worth it. Thanks again for letting us stay.

Dear Marlene & Jorge,
The weather was just perfect! We didn't see much wildlife--just the wild turkeys at the Elk compound--no Elk though.
Thank you for sharing your home. The shortcut down Huckleberry is definitely a plus! (to SR 19)
We had many hummingbirds--lots of pictures! Maggie Valley Restaurant was especially tasty! We had an orphan Lab-mixed doggie that we adopted while we were here. We fed and watered her and left the extra food. Hopefully she will regain her strength. Our own Labrador--Ebony (a 14 year old) did great. The hot tub was pure heaven! By the way, the Ebbers was totally at home here. We had the windows open all the time--the creek's rushing was so peaceful. Gregg and I got to play the guitar and flute (He's the guitar :)) Well, all in all, we had a great time and love NC.

It has been a good week, although the weather did not cooperate--cold & wet. We did tour the Cherokee Village & Gardens and our favorite was riding the Old Smokey Mountain Railway. The cabin is lovely--wish we could have played outside more! A bad storm came through our last night and blew out the power and apologize to the folks coming in behind us! Isaac (3) loved the little playground, the mini ponies and the sweet Bassett Hound that visited! Thanks!!! The Hauts, Lexington, NC & The Woodlands, TX

We have had a wonderful time here at the "Moose Lodge". The 1 1/2 year old and the lab had a ball in the creek!! You should thank your past guests for the advice about the short cut down Huckleberry Lane. It was so much nicer. We went two times to see the elk at Cataloochee. We WILL BE BACK! The cabin was beautiful and we found everything we needed. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!! :)

Dear Marlene,
Thank you so much! This was a perfect week. We spent Tuesday in Cataloochee, visiting the old cabins and saw several elk. Wednesday we went to Cades Cove at sunset and saw the animals feeding. Thursday and Friday we slept late and stopped in Maggie. The creek and hot tub are wonderful at night and the drive up was lovely! Thank you again, Robert, Maria, Lisabeth and Michael & Veronica

This cabin is beautiful, very clean and well equipped. The view is beautiful and the stream with waterfall was incredibly relaxing. We built a bonfire and made s'mores. I loved just sitting on the porch reading a book and listening to the waterfall. The kids had a great time in the playroom. We had such a great time, we plan to do it again next year. It was definitely a home away from home. Thanks!

Dear Iris,
Just to let you know, we're from Florida as well and we do not bring a 4-wheel drive to our Lodge. My husband puts his SUV in 2nd gear instead of "drive" and we're fine. As a matter of fact, when you are traveling in the mountains, you want to use 2nd gear, especially if you are going down the mountains rather than using your brakes. That way your breaks will not burn out. God bless, Marlene

Well Marlene,
The week went so fast. Our entire family, kids & grandkids (we ranged in age from 10 months to 88 years!) love the cabin. It was incredibly relaxing. To the kid's delight, we even had a cat and her kittens show up from nowhere to join the family. I left the porta-crib for your future guests.
We did Cherokee, Cades Cove, Cataloochee Valley (loved the elk), fed the bears & so much more. We had a great time around the campfire but never had time to go in the hot tub.
All in all, a wonderful vacation. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. Bill and Eileen Cyrus, Myrtle Beach, FL

Great week! Loved the stream! Wonderful sleeping w/windows open and stream rushing.
Everyone loved the hot tub!
The Old Stove Inn in Waynesville is superb! Specialty is Beef Wellington. Also crab cakes some of the best.
Wish we had discovered "Frog Level" in Waynesville earlier. Didn't have a chance to go to any of the shops there.
We've enjoyed the peace and quiet--Hate to leave.

Marlene,
We all had such a wonderful time at your cabin, wish we could have spent more time here but our time here was very exciting and busy. Sunday we went to the Great Smokey National Park, Monday we went waterfall hunting, Tuesday we went to see Thomas The Tank in Dillsboro, on Wednesday we went searching for more waterfalls and shopping. Thursday we went to Tennessee and did the rapids down the Pigeon river. One night my husband and I also enjoyed the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee. Then on Friday we traveled up over 5,000 ft. to see another waterfall. We are so happy that you opened your home to us. We are very sad that it is over. Thank you so much. Our whole family has really enjoyed our stay here. Bogth cabins are so nice and comfortable for EVERYONE! (kids and pets, too) Our night never ended early here between the creek and the hot tub. The children loved it. Especially when we lit a fire and made s'mores. We enjoyed such a high view of the mountains to start our day on the way out every morning. Sometimes nervous but always beautiful! Thank you for sharing your homes with us. We had the time of our lives! Thank you, Rebecca, Nelson, Austin (5), and Kierstin (3) Rose

Your house is beautiful-We had a great time. We enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing on the porch. We explored the creek, shot off fireworks.
It's not raining, it's the creek. Falling asleep by the sound of the creek was great.
If you go to the elk herd go early.
The guys went fishing and caught mountain trout in Cherokee and they tasted great. We all enjoyed our time here.

Dear Marlene,
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moose Creek Lodge and would highly recommend it. The accomodations were very comfortable.
We spent hours on the deck watching the amazing hummingbirds flit between the two feeders. I even made more food for them. They are voracious!
Our son and daughter walked to the top of the mountain several times and also enjoyed the hot tub.
The creek, rushing along below the house, helped us to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We felt close to our Creator and Lord of the universe.
We had several visits with my sister and brother-in-law who live in Waynesville.
We had a festive dinner at Maggie Galley to celebrate our 59th anniversary and enjoyed a huge lunch at the Jarrett House in Dillsboro on Thursday.
Our young people went to Saratoga's Wednesday night and loved the Karaoke. I was worried about them coming home in the dark, but they made it back safe and sound. The shortcut down Huckleberry is the way to go!
We've been to Cherokee and Deep Creek today. Our daughter tubed down the creek and we picnicked in the shade.
It's been a wonderful week and we hate to see it come to an end.
Your place is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. God bless--Lucille & Marion (also-Marty, Gayle and Nancy)

Dear Marlene,
We had a great time staying at Moose Creek!
The house is beautiful and the acreage is breathtaking. The pictures do not do the cabin and the setting justice. We had such a peaceful relaxing vacation with always something to keep everyone busy from wading in the creek to relaxing in the "hot bath" as our 5 year old called it!
We spent most of our days hanging out at the cabin, but did enjoy a day in Cherokee, one exploring Maggie Valley and lots of fun tubing down the river in Cherokee.
One of the nicest surprises was the day we discovered a "short-cut" down Huckleberry to Hwy. 19 not having to travel down Wayah-Zooshuga.
We enjoyed the fire pit one evening while make s'mores!
We can't wait to visit again!
Hopefully, we will be back next year.

What a wonderful cabin! Sitting on the front porch listening to the sound of the creek and watching the hummingbirds or sitting in the hottub with a book is my idea of heaven on earth. The cabin has all modern conveniences, is roomy and comfortably furnished. Maggie Valley is centrally located to all the things we enjoy such as fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and tubing. I would definitely return.

Well can I first state just how beautiful your place is. The pictures just don't do this place any justice. My entire family is having a blast. While you and I talked on the phone trying to decide which of your cabins to take, I truly enjoyed and appreciated your help when you explained to me about this cabin and how you and your husband have just completed the renovations. I was a little nervous being the 1st vacationer. But words can not describe just how beautiful your place is. I highly recommend anyone interested in one of your places to definately recommend this place. Now with that said, I also highly recommend everyone to know that the easiest way to get here is with a 4-wheel drive. I will definately be returning and had a wonderful vacation. Thank you. Iris L.
