| We have just returned from a week at this fabulous home. Our group included 6 adults and 2 children. We had a glorious reunion with the family, and everyone was most comfortable. This is a fabulous property. The ones watching tv in the lower level one night did get a close up of the bear, peeking in the window! The home is clean, comfortable, convenient to everything. We could not have been happier. Thank you! |

Our family had such a wonderful time in your beautiful home in the mountains. Everything was just perfect the entire stay. During our stay, we went to the Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Olympic Training Center, and Denver, but wherever we went, this was always a wonderful place to come back to every night. We all enjoyed Esther's Trail and we waited in anticipation of the mysterious bear! Last night htough, we found the garbage can dumped over, so we assumed he had come for a visit. Tomorrow we will venture home to Phoenix - 110 degrees!

The cabin was fabulous! We had a great time and kept busy! The size of the cabin was perfect for 7 adults and 3 children. ...We were up with the sun everyday with those big beautiful windows, and we even saw a bear one day! Thank you for allowing us to have a wonderful time.

We're back home and I want to take a minute to say "thank you." Even though it wasn't free, your house felt like a wonderful gift for our 40th wedding anniversary gathering in Colorado. It was very nice without being pretentious. It made us feel at home right away, with familiar books for the two year old, extra space for the twenty six year old, and attractive, comfy furnishings without a "do not touch" feel. The views are spectacular and made even our down times special. I spent a long time one morning just swinging on the downstairs swing and singing with my granddaughter as we watched birds and enjoyed the mountain breezes. Way better than any tourist attraction! Here is what my son wrote in your guest book: "It wasn't always certain that our family--fighting both a wide variety of health issues and Colorado's unpredictable weather--would be able to ride to the top of Pike's Peak. There were many moments when it seemed unlikely to happen. But in the end, when we stood together at the summit, looking down at the beautiful vista below, it was worth every moment of doubt and struggle. Similarly, it wasn't always certain that 5 adults and a toddler would enjoy one another's company for an entire week. And frankly, here again there were some moments when it seemed unlikely. But in the end, we were glad to have had the time together, looking back on our family's history, while looking forward to its future. Of course, it didn't hurt that we were able to return to this beautiful home at the end of each busy day. Everything here--from the giant mountains outside the windows to the tiny details within--was exactly what we needed. We never learned to take the magnificent view for granted, but we soon came to assume that this would be a place of constant security and ease. For some of us this trip to Colorado was a homecoming. [My husband grew up in Colorado Springs.] For others a new adventure. [My daughter-in-law had never seen western mountains.] For all of us, it was a wonderful experience and we wouldn't have wanted to share it anywhere but here at the Kulsa House."

We were all entertained by the activities available to us. The house was very convenient and allowed much room for the six of us and the dog. Colorado Springs was very dog friendly the entire time which allowed the whole family to enjoy the stay. We ventured out and drove to Pike's Peak (don't attempt if your vehicle is not in good condition). The Olympic Training center was a great experience and we hit up about every gift shop in a 30-minute radius. Thank you so much for allowing us all to stay -- we enjoyed it very much!

| We stayed in this house for our son's May '08 graduation from the Air Force Academy. It was a wonderful gathering place for our family. The house is comfortable and clean and the views are incredible. Distance to the Academy for graduation events was not bad -- it was pretty easy getting to everything on time. Great location also for Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs, a great little town! (Check out Adam's Mountain Cafe .... yum!!!) |

The house is great, completely stocked with everything you would ever need. The grounds are beautiful, just be careful of the rock stairs. The house heats quickly so keep the heat on low or you will boil. We will be back next May and can't wait to see the beautiful mountains again.

This was our third visit to the Kulsa home. We always enjoy our stay! We didn't get to see any bears or mountain lions, but did get a glimpse of some deer and rabbits. There were some type of animal tracks in the snow though. And the snow is beautiful in the mountains this time of year.
Katharine is a pleasure to do business with. We always appreciate your cabin while we are in Colorado. Thank you so much!

This is the first time that our family has not celebrated Thanksgiving in Texas. What a joyful experience in the mountains! This house is perfectly situated within short distance to so many family activities. Tucked neatly in the pines, it offers the most amazing views morning, noon, and night. Somehow even coffee tastes better here!
Our children really enjoyed exploring the hilly terrain and we adults loved the solitude offered by the huge deck. What surprised all of us is how roomy the house is on the inside -- ideal for sleeping, curling up in front of a television or lounging. Sunrise each morning was an added treat. We will return!

Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home. We have just been in AWE of your area -- it is so gorgeous! It was 85 degrees Friday, so it was a little warm for us until we realized open windows could do WONDERS! We saw no wildlife except for one little rabbit, but we are headed North to Estes Park, so I think we'll see lots there, and maybe, hopefully a little snow. Thanks again. I hope people here appreciate the beauty in which they live!

There is also a good [swimming] pool in Green Mountain Falls. Enjoy!

What a great vacation we've had in a beautiful location close to all the area attractions. Our accommodations have exceeded our expectations. The altitude has affected some of us but we recovered quickly. The brief, almost daily rainshowers were refreshing - we did allow time for afternoon naps and leisurely activities of games, cards, and reading. We particularly enjoyed the book "ghost Stories of the Old West" which we all took turns reading aloud. One night we gathered downstairs around the outdoor swing and read it by flashlight -- it was downright spooky! The other tenants' comments helped tremendously by giving us clues on where to go and what to do -- a tip: do have breakfast at the Hungry Bear in Woodland Park and take time to hike Esther's Trail. Most of our evening meals were prepared here but we did go to the Flying W Ranch to celebrfate the twins' birthday. There were no actual sightings of the elusive black bear, but sometime last night he left his calling card in the driveway, so the snow shovel came in handy.
Reality is facing us now -- back to the grindstone. We will certainly look forward to and plan for our next Colorado vacation. You all enjoy yours!

We enjoyed white water rafting, the Royal Gorge, Santa's Workshop, the gold mine tour, dinosaur museum, Garden of the Gods, the cog railroad, and more. The cog railroad [up Pike's Peak] was awesome, everyone had a great time. I will recommeend this house and area to everyone. Thanks for the memories. We had a blast!

We all had a great time visitingg Colorado. Your house made us all feel like we were at home. It is a beautiful place and very peaceful in the morning. The scenic views are awesome, the weather was so enjoyable, especially for us being from Louisiana (the low humidity was quite nice for a change). It did snow once while we were here on June 27th, 2007. thanks again for sharing your home with us.

This house was very nice with the plasma TV, the big deck and the mountain view. We saw a deer and then the next day we saw it again. It was awesome. The Esther trail was tough for the first 45 minutes. It was all uphill. At the top of that trail you could go up to the top of Mt. Esther or you can go through a field. We went through the field and everyone got very itchy. We also went to Santa's Workshop [The North Pole amusement park]. We rode every ride...My family and I went to the zoo; we saw every animal. I can't forget the Pike's Peak Cog Railway. It took 1.5 hours to get there. It was a wonderful view. On the way back down I saw two marmots and 1 chipmunk. Another place we went was Garden of the Gods. I was climbing a boulder and I slipped and thankfully my Dad waas there to catch me or I would have broke kmy leg. I shall LIVE! This will be a week I will never forget.

Our family had a great and relaxing time in this house. Great views and a very open living space was just perfect. The house was very secluded and offered good opportunities to see the surrounding wildlife. I even ran into a black bear on the Esther trail. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing for a great place to stay in the Colorado Springs area.

We saw eight deer and by the balcony me and my mom saw two hummingbirds. Also a blue pigeon. We love this house and the deck and porches. Most of all the space. We have three levels. On Pike's Peak I met a friend, so i know how Colorado is very frienndly. We also saw two marmots at the cog [train ride up Pike's Peak]. At all the places it was awesome. My favorite part was the wolf sanctuary. I also like the zoo. The giraffes were cool. But this house is cool.

Saturday started off with snowflakes and a two-hour power failure. We were pleasantly surprised how fantastic the house and its location is. Lots of things to do. We didn't see any animals around the house, only bear footprints in the snow near the garbage. We certainly recommend this house to friends. Thanks!

What a fun vacation! Being from Illinois we all really appreciated being in your hills and mountains. It was beautiful. This location was a perfect home base for everything we wanted to do. Our two highlights were the drive to the top of Pike's Peak (not bad at all with 4WD) and our rafting trips (we went twice because it was so much fun!) We never did find the elusive black bears, so I guess we'll have to come back. Thanks for such a clean, comfortable house!
