House and garden more spacious than photos suggest. Most agreeable house to stay in especially eating outside at night watching the light change. Location is in elegant hillside area beyond town but just within walking distance - bus half way down hill usefully available to get into centre (fare 1.10). If driving into Aix, park outside/above the ring road and walk. Two supermarkets and boulangerie not far away half way down road into town. Fans in every room. Difficult to find house especially at night when you should approach via centre-ville not round the back. Aix smaller than maps suggest.
Try bathing places just west of Marseille at Niolon, La Redonde etc. Different. Martigues very dull. Carry le Rouet pleasant.
Bring a kettle. Some midgies. Few shops open on Sunday. |
