October 13, 2007, my husbnd and I took both sets of our parents and our 2 dogs on vacation. We stayed in the grist mill and found it to be very lovely and quaint. The area is beautiful with the mountains and Christmas trees. Our host was very understanding when we told we had to leave earlier than planned due to an illness in our family. At the time she was dealing with the same, but went out of her way to bring her minister to us to pray for our relative. We would love to go back and spend more time in this area. |

My humans and I spent a wonderful week in late August this year in the Grist Mill house. The house was perfect and very accomodating to both four-legged and two-legged houseguests. I spent countless hours frolicking with my brother and his friend through the many beautiful and grassy acres of the farm. I enjoyed following the chickens around and listening to the roosters crowing. I relaxed by the fabulous in-ground pool while my humans swam. While I only went down to the river a couple of times, my family spent a lot of hours down on the dock and tubing on the water. The shade trees and soft grass were a delight and I had many blissful naps outdoors. Sandra and Peter offered my mom and dad a tour of their incredible home and they were always so nice and obliging. It was my best vacation ever and my humans are planning another vacation there next year. I hope it's for two weeks this time.

We stayed in the grist mill for a week with four children ,two adults and a very cute dog(She made us say that). We had a wonderful time. The mill and farm enviroment provided us with fun, restful and unique place to stay. It was nice that many of the things you usually must pack were provided by our host.We used the pool ,the canoe and biked every day.We enjoyed the fresh egg breakfast from the chickens in the barn that was next door. Since we had a gas grill we had BBQ's just abount every night on the nice patio. We toured and hiked the areas around southern Vermont every day. My children received a extra special treat from the owners son who took them under his wing.I am sure they will always talk about his help in making it a awsome vacation for them.Thank you for all the extras, our entire family loved it.

My wife, 3-month-old son, and I just returned from the most glorious mid-August stay at the Grist Mill. Aside from the near-perfect weather we had for biking, swimming, and grilling, the setting was postcard-perfect and the open layout of the large kitchen/ living room on the ground floor made for a wonderfully social vacation with my wife's 2 sisters and their husband/boyfriend. The house was well-appointed with everything we needed for a perfect week of delicious meals, good company, and relaxing outdoor activity. We capped off the week with a swim across the temperate river to the New Hampshire side and a breakfast of eggs from the chickens right on the farm. A perfect, utterly relaxing week...only wish it had been 2 weeks!

We stayed in the Grist Mill with our friends, the Ericksons, Sept. 3, 2006 for a week. The farm is both beautiful and peaceful. Our hosts were gracious. This was just what we all need to wind down from our busy New York schedules. We highly recommend this getaway for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of vermont.

My husband and I spent a long week end in September at the Grist Mill. What a beautiful peaceful spot. A place to relax and take in the scenery. We took a long walk on the country road and around the Christmas tree farm. The Grist Mill is charming and quaint. The Conn. River runs in front of the property for canoeing and fishing. A few things we did in the area--we took a train ride on the Green Mountain Flyer down in Bellow Falls, VT and we enjoyed a day at The Fort at No. 4 across the river in Charlestown, NH. We also enjoyed dining at several good restaurants in the area. Other attractions in the area are the Country Shop at the Robb Family Farm in Brattleboro, VT, Harlow’s Sugar House in Putney, VT, and Wellwood Orchards in Springfield, VT. We hope to plan another trip up to the area to take in more of country living in Vermont.

I had the opportunity to spend the week of August 19th at the Grist Mill, and it was wonderful. My son, daughter and their families joined me and a good time was had by all. The lovely views and the CT river right by the Grist Mill were beautiful too. Also enjoyed the beautiful scenery and many historical sites in VT as well.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Grist Mill with two other families. We each had a 3 year old and the house accomodated our three families well. Sandra and Peter suggested some excellent day trips for us; particularly memorable was our "hike" to the top of Mount Ascutney. We hope to return again.

The Grist Mill made for a wonderful two week vacation. The setting was beautiful and allowed for quiet morning strolls along the Conneticut River. The kids loved riding their bikes and swimming in the pool. Peter and Sandra were perfect hosts and offered helpful suggestions as to the local area attractions. The scenery was breathtaking. We left with many wonderful memories that will be with us forever.

This is the second time that we have enjoyed a family vacation at the Grist Mill and look forward to the opportunity to come again. Everything about the place says "Relax"! So we did! We read by the fire, visited a maple farm in the countryside, and rode bikes along the river road. We take with us many warm and happy memories. Thank you, Sandra and Peter!

The Grist Mill is a great place to stay! There is beautiful scenery all around and close to a lot of Vermont sites. We couldn't be more pleased. We'd recommend it to anyone. Peggy's two sisters, JoAn Schrock and Brenda Haley feel the same way.

The Grist Mill is a wonderful vacation home. The Mollica's are wonderful, helpful hosts. The area is a great place for children to play and bike. It's close to hiking trails and many local attractions. It's also a great place to relax and read in front of the fire. The time flew by and we wish it could have been longer. This is our second stay and recommend it highly, but the best way is to see for yourself.

Our stay at the Grist Mill was WONDERFUL! The location is not only beautiful but very convenient to many local attractions. The fresh-water fishing on the river was great! The Mollica's house is a historical delight and Sandra and Peter were terrific hosts. They made our family (including our dog) feel very welcome and their restaurant recommendations were fabulous! Our only regret is that we did not have more time to stay and explore this serene, green getaway!

The grist mill is a wonderful vacation home. Peter and his wife are wonderful hosts. The tree farm is a great place for kids to play in. The hay ride is a highlight which my kids remember 1 year later. Canoeing, swimming (their pool is beautiful and private), great biking and nearby hiking. We plan to return this summer!! Beleive us but don't take our week. Mitch and Jenny Lazar

My brief time at the Grist Mill was most rewarding. How can it be otherwise with such a beautiful place to get away from all the hassle of a busy daily routine. On my morning walk, the locals waved at me while they passed in their trucks/cars and made me feel very much a part of the area. Sandra & Peter are a wealth of knowledge about the buildings and the area on their farm, and such charming people to get to know. Thank you for a delightful 48 hours!

Three friends went up to Vermont for a peaceful and restful week, and thats exactly what we got. Our hosts were wonderful and very helpful. We stayed at the Grist Mill which was very comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. It was also fun to be at a working Christmas Tree farm. The Grist Mill is near several attractions. The towns in the area are fun to explore. I would definitely rent there again. Thanks for the hospitality. |

I am adding this comment a little late but the week that my family stayed on Peter and Sandra's property was fantastic. The grist mill was nicely furnished and was everything we had hoped. The whole property was amazing and so convenient to the best Vermont has to offer. The hosts know the area well along with the history of the house and mill. We are thinking about going up again during a different season, although the fall will be hard to beat. Thank you Sandra and Peter for sharing your property.

We just returned from our stay and the Grist Mill, and I can't say enough good things about the house and our hosts. The house is beautiful, and has every convenience of home, everything we needed was there. Peter and Sandra are lovely people and made it a pleasure to stay there. Peter always had suggestions about good places to go, and nice places to eat. And the property! How could you not have a great time surrounded by thousands of christmas trees! There was also so much to do that we did not even get to it all, there a bicycles there to go for a ride and even a rowboat to go for a ride in on the river (which is right out in front of the property). I highly recommend staying here (and I am very picky). If you are thinking of going to Vermont you should definitely check this place out.

We had a wonderful week at the restored grist mill. The property is gorgeous. We stayed the first week in August and our family made good use of the beautiful built in pool. Good fishing is literally steps away in the Connecticutt River. While out for an after supper row, a Bald Eagle flew right over our boat. The Mullica'sa perfect hosts and could not have made us feel more comfortable. There is so much to do from cycling (bicycles provided),swimming, fishing, taking a short ride to Woodstock or Quechee or simply enjoying the sights on the Christmas tree farm. Definitely a family friendly vacation. Thank you Sandra and Peter, you made our stay a great family memory. |
