ocean. Great view. The game room was nice for our 10 yr old. The weather was
absolutely gorgeous. We spent a lot of time on the beach, and caught a

"This was our eight March at North Coast Village and our second year at Pelican Place. The weather was the best we have ever had (and last year was great)! We enjoyed the new sofas and the new refrigerator - particularly the ice maker. We also enjoyed watching "March Madness" on the big screen TV and surfing the internet on our laptop.
But, alas, it's time to return to the late winter coldness of the North Land."

I cannot say enough good things about Melinda, and unit C304.
I inquired about a unit literally on Christmas Eve, and received an immediate response from Melinda. Despite short notice, and the holiday, she made the process as painless as possible, and it wasn't 2 days later that my family and I arrived in Oceanside and were greeted by a lovely condo.
The unit is stocked for whatever you may need, and extremely comfortable. The HDTV and sound system made me not want to leave, as did the lovely view of the ocean.
I hesitated to write this review, only because I'm afraid that it may lead to the unit not being available the next time I want to visit.

| We stayed at Pelican Place from Jan. 2-13/07 and had a fabulous vacation! No lumpy beds, frayed towels or chipped dishes in Melinda's unit - it's a perfect balance of good quality and comfort. We love Oceanside in the off-season - this was our second visit to NCV in January. The sunshine is warm enough for us to wear shorts & sandals during the day. Not quite warm enough to use the pool, but we loved sitting on the rooftop deck listening to the waves and feeling the sun on our winter-weary Canadian faces. The pier and harbour are both charming and we had a couple of great meals at Jolly Roger. We find Oceanside within easy driving distance of Disneyland/California Adventures and we made great use of a 3-day park hopper. Our favourite is still the Wild Animal Park - this year there were lion cubs - we could have spent an entire day watching their antics. Outlet mall shopping is fabulous - Canadians will be amazed at the deals to be found on Rockport, Nike, Jockey, etc! We highly recommend an Oceanside holiday at Pelican Place! ~The Frizzleys, Calgary, AB, Canada |

"We've had a great week here at Pelican Place! We celebrated a 50th birthday and surprised my husband with this vacation location as well!
Family came and we had a beach party for the 50th down on the beach.
Then we all walked to the Harbor, road bikes around "the Strip' area, went to the pool, and fed the huge Koi fish in the pond.
It is our last morning hers, and the weather has been wonderful the past few days - we will be sad to go back to our own home where it is much hotter in this "heat wave" we're having.
We will all miss the sounds of the ocean gently rocking us to sleep tonight."

-Helgrens sportfishing (Oceanside Harbor) - deceptive pricing, RUDE service, no fish
-Sailing at Mission Bay.
-Sandwiches from Con Pane bakery corner of Rosencrans & Shelter Island Drive on Point Loma, San Diego. Incredible!!!We drove an hour just for the food. Then SeaWorld all day and cocktails on the deck.
-Pizza and movies - teenagers, parents: sailing in the bay in San Diego
-Played "PIT" in the evening"

"This was the seventh year in a row that we have spent the month of March at North Coast Village, but our first at Pelican Place. It was the best month of weather we have ever had, and we ate lunch on the lower level balcony nearly every day. We appreciate the multiple TV sets and high speed internet access. All in all, a most enjoyable month."
Owners note: The Gaucks will be returning to Pelican Place in 08 - even though I can't guarantee the weather! ;)

As fellow vacation rental owners of three mountain homes, I have to commend Melinda on her attention to detail. Melinda has the best of everything—you won’t find rust of cheap/garage sale cast offs here! Pelican Place has luxury quality beds and bedding, nice towels AND quality beach towels, good dishes (not Goodwill!) and kitchen equipment,. The gorgeous view and sound of the ocean waves was much appreciated.
The kids loved the giant TV, and unlike another vacation home we stayed at recently, we could actually figure out how to work it! Taking my office on the road, I appreciated the easy WiFi Internet access to work while away. Asking the kids what they liked, they just said that they felt like Melinda had set everything up just for us! She’s definitely a high-touch hostess who knows how to make her guests feel cozy and welcome.

This is our third time spending a week at North Coast Village, we've had a great time each year, but this was the best of the three. We really enjoyed "Pelican Place" as it is centrally located in the property and is nicely equipped and decorated.
We particularly enjoyed the plasma television in the living room and the wireless internet connection.

| We have stayed at North Coast Village for the past three years and this is by far the best rental experience we've had. Loved the upper deck area and what a view of the ocean. All of the provided extras were of good quality too, beach chairs and towels; also a nice touch to have a little cooler to take to the beach. I also really appreciated the comfortable mattress' in all of the bedrooms. We slept like babies after a long day at the beach. We highly recommend this unit! Thanks Melinda. |

| We stayed for 3 days in February and found the condo to be great. You have a great view of the beach, central location for Disneyland, Legoland and San Diego. It's a lot nicer than staying the in the typical hotel. Bring your own hairdryer and quarters for laundry. |

| 2/15/06 We were a bit nervous renting a place sight unseen. We were very pleasantly pleased upon arrival. We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Place! The condo had everything we needed and more. It is conveniently located to San Diego and all the attractions. The grounds and facility were very nice. Very relaxing to walk on the beach. A very enjoyable vacation! |

"We had a great time here and figured out that 9 days is not enough time to see everything one wants to. The condo is great and very well stocked, so late arrivals are able to survive a night. And enough china, what a surprise! A lot of condos advertise that they sleep 7 or 6 and you have chairs and china for four... We really can reccomend the trolley tour through San Diego. The price is steep, but you get the whole day out of it and see so much. The whole apartment complex is very nice. The landscaping is gorgeous and the kids went to the pool for 2(!) hours every day.

| Our family met in Oceanside to celebrate the 80th birthday of our beloved matriarch. Melinda's condo served as a beautiful home base for four generations, as well as the perfect spot for our traditional family enchilada pow-wow.
