My husband and I really enjoyed your place at Clayton. We tried to see and do everything we could while we were there. The cabin is in a wonderful location for a home base -- so much in the surrounding area. If we can arrange it next year, maybe we can see and do all of the stuff we didn't have time for this trip.

| What a relaxing visit. CradleCrest offers all the comforts of home, but is away from the hub-bub of crowds, traffic, and the flurry of life in general. My favorite was enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck (either early morning watching the clouds settle in the valley, or in the evening during sunset). Comfortable breeze. Even an occasional humming bird. Soooooo quiet & peaceful. We enjoyed the Rhododendron Festival in Hiawassee, the Mountain Laurel Festival & parade in Clarksville, shopping, and several area restaurants with really good food. What more can one ask? Thanks for providing such a nice environment for a much-needed get-a-way. |

FROM THE HAND WRITTEN GUESTBOOK at CradleCrest: This was a wonderful location for enjoying May Day. We hiked the Forrest Cove Trail in Rabun Gap (Just off Patterson Gap Road, park by the creek). The Trillium were out in large numbers. A rainy Saturday made for a good antiquing day in Dillard, and lunch at the Cupboard Café (try the Reuben). Then it was a beautiful 1½ to 2 hour drive through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, on Sunday. We treasured our walk on the Little River Trail, at Elkmont Campground. CradleCrest made for a relaxing home base for this long weekend. Yes, the views are great.

We drove the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway - Beautiful, and Ruby Falls, in Tennessee. The area is beautiful and so close to other locations. Like everyone else, we hate to leave. P.S. It was such a pleasure to awake, have coffee, make a fire, and watch the sun rise in the eastern skies. And then, at the end of the day, sit on the porch and watch the amazing sunsets. God is so good!

It was great. We had leftovers to eat the rest of the time here. It rained all day Friday and Saturday, so we did not do any hiking. We went to Helen and Cleveland to see the Cabbage Patch Babies. We hope to come up another time to do some real exploring. Thank you for sharing your place with us. P.S. The twins had a great 5th birthday party on Thanksgiving.

Wonderful clean cabin with a view to heaven. We went horseback riding at the Dillard House Stables and White Water Rafting with Nantahalla Co., then tubed the Chattahoochie River at the flea market in Helen, GA. We also visited the waterfall at Cove Crest Retreat Center. There is still more to see and do next time we come here.

FROM THE HAND WRITTEN GUESTBOOK at CradleCrest: It is Wednesday evening now, our last night we will be here. We are going to have some delicious, fresh trout tonight that Tim caught this morning. Yesterday we spent the day at Cherokee, and had a wonderful time. Tim and I have an empty nest now, and this is only our 2nd time going off alone. We have two wonderful sons, Mark and Jonathan. I know ya'll got to meet Mark when he was here with Tim. Mark started back to school today.
Monday, late in the afternoon, Tim called me to come out ont he porch. There was a big black bear coming from the right side, and heading down your property. This was really exciting! It was the first one I've ever seen in the wild. We wanted to get a picture of the bear, but he was too fast.
We have enjoyed every minute staying here. It has been so relaxing, and you have made it so much like home too. Your place is so beautiful and cozy. Thank you so much for letting us be able to share in your wonderful home away from home. I think of CradleCrest more as a cozy cottage than an cabin. We can't wait to come again.
