We stayed at Rose & Gene's condo at #115 Ke Nani Kai from May 28th until June 4th, 2009 after spending a week in Poipu on Kauai. Our impression was that, while Kauai is becoming ever more touristy, Molokai is becoming less so.
If you want a vacation in which stress melts away entirely, then do yourself a favor and visit Molokai. Better yet, stay at Rose & Gene's place on the sunny west side of the island.
The condo overlooks the 3-mile long Papohaku Beach, light pollution is minimal so that the night sky is illuminated in a way that few ever see (you can see the Milky Way galaxy head-on), you are visited on the lanai by wild turkeys in the early morning and late afternoon and by bufo toads in the evening, and the fully-equipped kitchen, furnishings and Rose's decorative sensibilities make you feel right at home on this island paradise.
Some of the most pristine and secluded beaches are on the west side and within walking distance from the condo (we especially liked Kepuhi Beach located just off the "back 9" of the Kaulakoi Resort and the two Mauliuli Beaches directly north of Kepuhi Beach). Also, within a 5~10 minute drive is Dixie Maru Cove, which is ideal for snorkeling and swimming.
Be sure to take the mule ride down into Kaulapapa and to drive to the east side of the island to see Halawa Valley. Also, people told us that the guided hike through the Halawa Valley led by Eddie Tanaka is worthwhile. Rose provides information on how to contact Eddie to schedule a tour.
We can't wait to return.

Vacations are almost always a great thing. The one that my husband and I took this year to Rose's #115 condo on Molokai was one of the best and most relaxing ones we have EVER taken. We stayed for a week in the first part of April and couldn't of asked for anything more!
The condo was very well stocked (in fact, don't go to the store before you go there and check!), the location is great, what more could one ask for? The only thing that we can think of is....to be able to come back!
Thanks to Rose and all the information she shared with us regarding the island, we felt like we were home. We've all heard the saying "home away from home" and I can honestly say that Ke Nani Kai #115 condo is truly our "home away from home" and can't wait to go back again.

| Molokai was a "big unknown" to us, being the only island in the chain we hadn't visited. But what a nice surprise! Not only was the west coast just the perfect setting, but your condo was cozy and beautiful, and so well equipped...like finding homey comforts in a heavenly wilderness. We loved the pristine beaches, rolling green hills, and our trip to Halawa Valley with Eddie Tanaka, a truly educational experience. We'll return. |

Awesome! We really enjoyed our stay on Molokai. The condo surpassed our expectations. Home away from home. The weather was good, we swam, played golf and tennis! Not enough time, we will have to come back!

Mahalo Rose! Loved everything. Had perfect weather the whole 7 days; sunshine & wind or breezes from the NE. The many beaches and tide pools are very special. Thanks for giving us Eddie Tanaka's name. His tour of the Halawa Valley & falls was fabulous and educational too. We learned so much Hawaiian history from him; his dedication to cultural tradition is inspiring. We hope he has his way and that Molokai remains un-spoiled. Oh yes -- loved watching the humpbacks breach, from our lanai! We'll try to return!

As we sit on the lanai watching our last sunset on Molokai (for this trip), we are already planning our next visit. The peacefulness and tranquility of your condo and the island are a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Maui. All we want is to find a private beach where we can watch the waves and the sun move across the sky. The only problem here is deciding which beach to go to each day. Unlike most of your other guests, we did not do any of the "tourist" activities on Molkai. Everyday we packed our cooler and went to Papohauku or Make Horse or Murphy's Beach and let time pass as we relaxed under the Hawaiian sun and were soothed by the sound of the ocean. For us that is a perfect vacation and that is exactly what we had. Mahalo.

Unfortunately our time here is almost over. We had such a nice stay in your slice of heaven. Thank you for being so generous with your “stuff”.
Some of the hi-lites of our trip were:
#1 - Kamakou Preserve. We were so lucky to book this early (6 months ago) as they only take 8 people, once per month.
#2 - Damien Mule ride to Kalaupapa. This is a must do!
#3 - Finding the fruit stand to the left of the airport exit. Bananas 4 for $1.00, Starfruit 4 for $1.00, Medium Papayas 75 cents. He is on the honor system. Box was full of $$. If we did that in California, not only would they steal your fruit and $$$, they would TAG your table. Love this place!
#4 - Adobo at Oviedo’s in town - Great take out. Saimen and Fish ’n Chips at Hotel Molokai.
#5 - Walks on the many beaches.
Thank you - Mahalo, Bob & Marilyn Wise, Novato, CA

Your “Hale” far exceeded our expectations; it was warm and inviting with a view to die for!! It’s funny being home again - so many changes yet so much unchanged. We were not able to get down to Halawa Valley but will on our next trip. We had wonderful weather - sunshine balanced with rain. Nights so beautiful it takes your breath away. I ran into Bruce from Air Inc and he remembered my dad “Uncle Ralph & Aunty Abigail”. We’ve left so much undone but we’ll make up for it on our next trip. I loved your “Fish”. We will put in our next reservation in a few months.

Rose, Thank you so much for the use of your home away from home. Everything was lovely. The weather close to perfect and we had a great time exploring this beautiful island. We did the mule ride -lots of fun- drove from one end to the other (several times!) and even had a few days of just sitting and reading. Loved the sunsets, floating in the warm ocean and meeting the friendly people. Saw deer, mongoose, wild turkeys and birds galore! Have to wonder what is up with the pancaked frogs!! Surf came up near the end of our stay. Amazing sight (though the locals tell us this is nothing yet!)
We are off to the big city and Oahu for a few days before home. Driving there will be a shock after Molokai!
Thanks Again!

| Once again a wonderful time in Rose & Gene's condo. This is probably the nicest, best furnished unit we have ever stayed in anywhere. The hosts are great and provide their guests with great local information. If you want peace and quiet in a wonderful setting this is the place. We just got back and are already planning our return. |

We stayed in Ke Nani Kai 115 for a week in January 2008. It was certainly a delightful stay in this well equipped and well cared for unit. Rose has done a great job setting up a "home away from home" for visitors like us. I was particularly surprised and pleased at the personal interest she took in knowing that we were happy and all was well. She sent so much information ahead of time that was very useful even for people like us that had been to Molokai three times before. The views out of the unit are great both of the ocean and the golf course. Kaluakoi Golf Course right on the grounds is a true gem. An ocean front golf course that is reasonable in cost and easily availble to play. The unit has all the tv channels you could want, internet access that was fast and consistent, and all the gear for outdoor activities you could want. My wife and I stay in condo style lodging in a lot of places and usually have a routine of stopping at a grocery to stock up before we ever go to the resort, so we can settle in when we get there. That proved to be a bad routine this time as the unit was so well stocked that we purchased several things that were already present. I encourage anyone to check in and check out the supplies then head down to Friendly Market (and the Kanemitsu Bakery) for the persishable food and the few things not already present in 115. I almost hate to put this review in as I want the unit to be available to us but truly, Rose deserves all the business she gets. It's a great place to stay and we'll certainly try to do so again. |

| This was our 8th trip to Molokai and our first stay in unit #115. This was the best unit we have stayed at in the complex. It is very clean, updated and is equipped with every possible utensil. We have reserved it again for another stay later this year and early next year. |

My husband and I were there in Sept. for one week. We were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We fell in love with the Island Molokai. This condo # 115 made our stay a beautiful experience. This condo is immaculate, well stocked, comfortable, beautiful tropical furniture and appliances well taken care of and views with trade winds that you will never forget! The Island of Molokai and Ke NaniKai # 115 go hand in hand for a memorable stay. We would highly recommend to everyone. The price for this condo is very reasonable for what you get. Roses is so good with details to make your stay the best! Feel free to call me with any questions. You will not be dissappointed in Roses and Condo #115. We have plans to go back again in 08'. |

| Wonderful views and sunsets. The condo was just like home and a great place for a quiet, relaxing vacation. The information packet Rose sent allowed us to enjoy the island and activities. We didn't miss a thing, which we may have done without her information. Rose treated us like her best friends. We even enjoyed the turkeys! |

| We visited Molokai in September 2006. We were happy with the condo and with all of the answers, information and recommendations Rose provided in advance of our stay. I had hope to add a link to our photos here but it is apparently not allowed in the comments - I'll send the link to Rose. A hidden bonus was that we used Rose's inventory to help outfit our daughter's first apartment! |

| My husband and I just spent 2 weeks here, 11/15/06 to 11/30/06 and really enjoyed it. The condo has a wonderful view and all the things you need for a great stay. The sunsets were awesome and the pool is first rate. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is friendly. Visit Kamoi Snack and Go for awesome snacks and ono Dave's Ice Cream, Purdy's Mac Nut Farm for awesome mac nuts and products and Kanemitsu Bakery for bread and cookies(get there early in the day, they sell out fast). The island is very relaxing and beautiful. Thank you Gene and Rose!! |

Everybody has written about the condo and how well it is furnished. We agree with that but want to add a (maybe) new approach:
From the start of my search for accomodations on Molokai, Rose's website was the focal point. There is no website that is more complete about this island.
Then comes Rose herself. By the time we arrived at Ke Nani Kai, we had the feeling that we were visiting a friend's place, not a rental accomodation. I asked a lot of questions and the answers always had a very personal touch that made us feel that Rose took a special interest in us.
And she did. We got to Molokai in one of its rainiest weeks for years. When I told her this, she felt so bad that she offered us the unit with three days off if we wanted to go again.
Rose is a jewel. |

| My husband and I just returned from a 2 week stay. Have never stayed in a nicer condo, the owners have made every possible effort to provide a luxury vacation. We enjoyed the Hawaiian CD's, comfy furniture, beautiful views, quality appliances, and large rooms with lots of closet storage. Upon booking the owner will provide you with a packet of insider info regarding activities and points of interest. Very useful. We hope to return again soon. |

| This was a fabulous vacation experience in an exceptionally nice condo ~ well maintained and decorated in a island motif. The view from the patio was spectacular without a building anywhere in sight. Owners were very accommodating and helpful to us on our first trip to Molokai. We have been to Oahu, Kauai and Maui several times and visited many beaches. The best beach hands-down we have ever found in Hawaii was about a mile from our condo and virtually private. If it is a relaxing vacation away from the crowds that you crave, Molokai is the place and this condo was an excellent value. |

| Gary and I have travelled to many places but we have never felt as at home as we did in Molokai. The Hartman's condo has everything you could possibly need. All you need to do is bring yourselves, a few clothes, your camera and plenty of film. Rose even helps with your travel connections if you are flying standby. The condo is beautiful and best suited for two. The other comments covered the beauty of the Island and what to do. We hope to return many times and will always stay at the Hartman's. It was a true Island experience and Rose was wonderful to work with. Aloha. Martha |

Where does one begin when she's arrived and stayed in Paradise? Forget the other Hawaiian Islands - Molokai is THE PLACE! From luaus on the beach, hula dancing by the locals, Hawaiian men singing songs in Hawaiian, Kuala pork and a cold drink, plenty of sunshine and the balmy tradewinds, the the "Ritz Carlton Suite" at Ke Nani Kai - who could ask for any thing more! Aloha until the next time. xoxoxo Trish |

Great place to get away from the typical crowded Hawaiian vacation scene...unbeleivable peace and quiet...not a single traffic signal on the island...unhurried local pace...very reasonable food prices in the local markets (the best-tasting red-ripe tomatoes ever) and a modern movie theatre at Molokai Ranch with, obviously, no waiting in line. We surfed, dove, snorkeled, ran on the old golf course cartways, explored beaches (watch for feeding turtles on the incoming tide) all by ourselves, took a few pictures at 'you know what' Rock, and watched the sun slide off the water's edge hundreds of miles from our back patio. Gene & Rose's place is first class with all the goodies....we're hooked and heading back for 2+ weeks at the end of the year!....Aloha
