LOVED this little cottage. Six in our family, 2 dog, and this cottage was perfect. I have never been away from home and slept so well in a strange bed, slept all night. The beach was perfection and very dog friendly. Not once did we have the dogs on a leash. Great fishing off the shore. Dolphins fishing right off the shore also. One Dolphin was 15 feet away from me cornering a fish for supper. To the left of the cottage was a perfect spot to search for hermit crabs, blue crabs, sand shark, sting rays, shrimp and lots of different fish. The cottage is a short drive to George Island, Apalachicola and deep sea fishing at Indian Pass for $45 a person. (sons and husband caught black tip sharks, delicious) Such a lovely spot I can't wait to return. Missing the cottage already. |

My wife and I just got back from a 2 month vacation at Olde Carrabelle Cottage with our two dogs. The house was somewhat older but quite large and easily accommodated our friends and family when they came to visit. The back deck overlooked the beach which one could walk to via the path that started at the bottom of the deck.
The beach itself was wonderful. Carrabelle beach is a few miles long (I believe) and has a couple of public access points. However the house is near one end of the beach so if you walk to your right (west) you will cross public access points but to your left (east) there is about a half mile of white sand beach that is only accessible from your house and a handful of other houses on your street. We often were the only ones in are area (many times the only one on the entire beach) and could leave our dogs off leash the majority of the time. The waves where mild because of the barrier islands that you can see in the distance but there were still some 'rough' days where the wind would whip up some good waves and make the water kind of murky. Other days it would be very calm and clear where you could be in chest deep water and still see your feet.
The beach is crawling (litterly) with hermit crabs, starfish, sand dollars and conchs - all of which are very much alive but still neat to see.
During our two months (May and June) we saw the dolphins very often - so much that we began to recognize certain ones. On two occasions a dolphin came into shore so close and so fast that myself and one of my dogs were splashed by it.
All in all this was a very relaxing a peaceful trip and anytime we take a beach vacation in the future we will be sure to use Olde Carrabelle Cottage. |

| We have stayed at the Carrabelle Cottage two times and each time we loved it! Very relaxing. We especially love that we can bring our dog, who is a family member, on vacation with us. The 2Als restaurant serves up great food and a reasonable cost and it is within walking distance. Great place and we will visit again. |

| Our stay at "the olde carabelle cottage" was wonderful. Words wont describe how much this vacation meant to us. The house is great, the beach with the ability to have fires, and dogs added to our enjoyment. This will be a "do again" vacation... Thank you for the exposure to old Florida...which I have missed dearly over the years... |
