Cherri,
I was going to email you and let you know how it went.
We greatly enjoyed staying at your place. Being on a groundfloor unit was in our view a benefit, as we had a patio rather than a deck, and closer access to birds in the trees nearby.
We left all the sheets and towels in the laundryroom, and a bit of a mess in the kitchen. We also left about $10 for the maid, though we know clean-up was included in the rent. We hurried to get out by 12 noon. Nothing I'm aware of was broken or lost...will you be returning the deposit? I noted that the property management office also took a deposit on my card upon arrival...I was alittle surprised at having to do both.
The condo you have there is very special. Just the right size for us, good layout with separate bathroom for the second bedroom and fold-out in the living room. It felt roomy, but more importantly, it felt more like a home than a hotel. We rode the vans through the villas below, and remarked to ourselves that we were glad we weren't staying there...it seemed too institutional and crowded.
We bought some plastic breakfast bowls...there was only one in the kitchen, and we left some food (rice, cooking oil un-opened, etc) in the cabinet. Nice to have a dish washer, a garbage disposal would have been an extra benefit. The blinds, as you mentioned, seemed to need some work. It would have been nice to have a key to the bedroom door to access outside directly. The brochures in the basket were handy and helpful.
THe beach and resort amenities were top notch. One of the best beaches in the area at Conchal, for sure. We were spoiled being able to access it directly. And the pool was fun, except for the somewhat inebriated Americans making fools of themselves...the exception, not the rule. And the staff and TICO's were supremely friendly and receptive.
Costa Rica reminded us of Hawaii say 50 years ago. It is a real state of mind, and such an easy place to be...might be a different story in San Jose. THe place definitely grew on us, and we already long to go back. I'll admit I bought a book on retirement in Costa Rica at the airport, to pull out on the rainy Oregon days and dream.
You've got a nice place there, and we were glad you were able to let us share it for awhile.
Regards, Ross

| My wife and I had a wonderful time. The condo was beautiful, the 5-Star Resort was great fun, and the people were very friendly. We spent quiet times on the patio over looking the golf course, jungle and ocean. We saw holler monkeys, iguanas, sloths, alligators, many types of birds, and gorgeous sunsets. We took a riverboat ride, jungle canopy tour, golfed 3 days, enjoyed live music each day by the resort's swim-up bar, and chose one of six different resort restaurants available for dinner. Each night had live entertainment and usually ended with a trip to the casino. It was truly a royal experience. Never bored. Very romantic and exciting. To quote California's Governor..."I'll be back!!!". Thanks for such a wonderful time. |
