We're here in New London shooting a feature film called "Party Like It's A Verb." We started at Ocean Beach at 6 am and it was sunny - then the fog rolled in - and so did the foghorns!! The sun came out and then the Carousel started. The cast and crew are from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. We got a photo with my head in the mouth of the whale at the mini golf course.
Please donate to support independent film! Thank you for letting us stay here! The cast and crew of "Party Like It's A Verb"

Dear Carolyn and Randy, Our two families had a great time! The five kids (ages one and a half to seven) enjoyed the beach. We went every day from about 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm because the weather would cool down by then. We spent a full day at Mystic Seaport - an easy drive from here. Most nights we cooked, including one BBQ in the backyard. The house was very homey, with all the supplies needed for folks like us on a simple budget. Thanks so much for your very personal touch of hospitality!

Dear Carolyn and Randy, We would like to thank you for your nice and warm welcome. We enjoyed a lot in New London County. We did appreciate your pretty house and we were very comfortable. Ocean Beach is beautiful despite the jellyfish. We have had a nice BBQ dinner in the garden. Thank you so much!

Dear Carolyn and Randy, We really enjoyed ourselves! Our boys loved the beach and caught two jellyfish! For some odd reason, our kids turned into fish and wanted to go to the beach everyday! Thank you so much and "we'll be back"!

Randy and Carolyn,
We had a wonderful week at your home, thanks so much. We have rented many homes and have never seen one so well equipped and supplied. There was everything we needed for big dinners and entertaining and the kids had a ball with all the toys, stuffed animals and videos.
We were two small families for most of the week and really enjoyed all the different seating areas between the two porches, living room, dining room, kitchen and backyard.
Being just a block from Ocean Beach Park kept the kids busy and excited all week! We did everything from relaxing on the beach to miniature golf to the water slide to the Olympic size pool, splash park, arcade, playground, amusement rides and ice cream!
Day trips to Mystic Seaport, Block Island and Watch Hill were also a breeze and highlights of our vacation.
Thanks again for thinking of everything!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 50th anniversary all month. We enjoyed the house and thank you for the snack basket. The house is close enough to Ocean Beach Park that we walked quite a few times. We had small groups of friends join us for lunch on various days to celebrate and the back room was great for eating out, playing cards, etc.
It was a pleasure meeting you and we wish you well in the future.

The house was beautiful, and kayaking was awesome! Caitlin I had a lot of fun at the house; it was really cozy! I loved kayaking and all of the restaurants around. Stash's is a really good place to eat; they have really good food. Thanks for everything! Becca The house was very cozy and felt sort of like a second home. Kayaking was great, especially with all of the sea life we saw. Travis The house was amazing, and all the restaurants were so good. Stash's was good. Kayaking was so much fun! Jordan As you can tell from the previous comments our grandkids made, we really enjoyed our 15th annual grandparents-grandkids vacation. Everyhting was great and we appreciated the things you've done to make this a home; i.e. basics in the cabinet so we didn't have to go to the store as soon as we arrived, snacks, etc. We hope we get to come back!

It was a bright, warm spring day as we watched Rodney A. Brown - ESN, USCG receive his commission and B.S. degree at USCGA. The museum is open to the public and is fascinating. Our favorite restaurant is The Daniel Packer Inn in Mystic. This was a lovely, quiet home to enjoy with all our family and friends!

This house was a wonderful retreat for our 4C cadet on Parent's Weekend. It gave us an opportunity to "be at home" without the 10 hour drive. Thank you, Carolyn and Randy, for thinking of absolutely everything from ironing board to corkscrew. We will be back!

| This is the second year in a row that we have spent our two-week summer vacation at 53 Park St. It is a lovely home with lots of room and so convenient to the beach, shopping and tourist attractions. We brought along our kayaks and had lots of fun out on the ocean and Alewife Cove, the great blue heron, snowy egrets and other birds that flocked to the Cove were spectacular to watch as we paddle by. As always, Randy and Carolyn were the perfect host and hostess leaving snacks and drinks upon our arrival. The nice thing about the location is the easy walk to the beach. This year we purchased a pass to the WOW gym within the beach gates and started our morning working off our previous day's indulgences. It is a very nice facility. Grocery shopping is very close by in Waterford, only 8 minutes away which makes it convenient to shop when you get there. Our weather was spectacular and the two weeks went by so quickly. This vacation home has everything you can think of provided, and it's owners are a treat to experience. |

It has been a wonderful week here! We've made the most of our week - going to the beach, sprinkler park and pool during the day. We visited the boardwalk at night for ice cream and entertainment with some kiddie rides as well. We found Michael's Dairy a few blocks away (Mitchell College). We took a day trip to the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI, about one hour away off I-95. Carolyn and Randy's hospitality is outstanding! Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. Thank you for creating a wonderful memory in your home for our family.

Dear Carolyn and Randy, The house was perfect for our daughter's graduation week from the Coast Guard Academy. It allowed all of us the comfort of the home. Everyone enjoyed the daily walks along the beach and boardwalk. We were able to relax each evening in the warmth of your home. Arriving on Friday and having the complimentary snacks and beverages was a wonderful surprise! Thanks so much for making our stay so nice. We enjoyed the friendly neighborhood, the New London vicinity and festivities. We will certainly come back to the area, long after our daughter's graduation. Thanks again for the use of your home.

Randy and Carolyn, Thanks so much for a great week in New London! We found the house suited the needs of our family, including 4 children ages 7-14, perfectly. Close to Ocean Beach and the activities at the Park there, as well as golfing, Misquamicut Beach, and visiting family in Waterford, Groton, and Westerly! Everything we needed was provided at the house or very close by. It was wonderful to not have to worry about towels and linens, or going to a laundromat. And, we would have to say it was one of the cleanest houses we have ever rented. Thanks again and you'll be seeing us in the future! |

Dear Carolyn and Randy,
It was a pleasure staying in your home on 53 Park St. the first two weeks of August, 2006. The welcome note, refreshments and snacks were a very nice touch and created the feeling that we were stepping into a bed and breakfast. Our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a wonderful time at Ocean Beach. The weather was hot, hot, hot our first week and we were very thankful for the air conditioning. It was a blessing to be so close to the beach and we took full advantage of it every day. Even on the hottest day (over 100 degrees), we took our chairs and umbrellas and sat down by the water and you’d never know it was that hot. We also enjoyed using our kayaks at Alewife Cove. During midmorning the tide allowed us to make it through the cove and out into the ocean where we paddled our way along the coast. The evening kayaking was absolutely beautiful and we saw a variety of birds, from great blue herons to little white egrets. We had a blast. Ocean Beach was hopping with entertainment the entire two weeks of our stay. Your home was very cozy and tastefully decorated. It was nice not to have to lug all the linens, towels etc. with us. We made a beginning of school shopping trip over to the outlets on the one over cast day of our vacation. Our teenagers really enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. See you next year.

Dear Carolyn and Randy, We've enjoyed our stay in Ocean Beach very much. The beach, the waterslide for the kids, our trip to New York City (very convenient with the commuter trains), and Boston. The trips to the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Museum and the Mystic Aquarium were very interesting and fun for our children of 14, 12, and 10 years old. The fireworks in New London July 8th were a great bonus; we had a great evening! This is the first trip to the US for our children. Our youngest, Hanna, shared her experience this week with me. "Mama", she said, "I have learned one thing about the Americans. They are very friendly people!" Just so you know.

We stayed at 53 Park St. for the months of January and February, 2006. This well-appointed bungalow with three bedrooms and two bathrooms was a comfortable home away from home. It has an entertainment center in the living room, a kitchen with all the appliances necessary for baking a turkey or making brownies and goodies for our grandchildren, as well as an attractive dining room done in shades of cream and soft green. The attached summer porch was perfect, while the washer and dryer in the basement added to our feeling of having everything we needed!
My husband, Dave, settled in by getting his sweatsuit on each morning and getting a newspaper from the receptacle at the corner. He then took long walks for exercise along the boardwalk of Ocean Beach or along the beaches that front Long Island Sound on Pequot Avenue. We could just imagine how delightful the location would be in the spring, summer, and fall.
Our stay was most enjoyable. Randy and Carolyn checked in with us to assure our comfort. You or you and your family should certainly consider renting this nicely located property!

| What a lovely, roomy house! Clean, well-appointed, and just about everything you would need for a wonderful stay. This is a great area to stay in if you want to make day trips - there's so much to see and do! And you are just blocks from 2 lighthouses, too! We would definitely recommend these landlords and their very nice house. Thanks, Randy and Carolyn, for a great vacation! We love CT!! |
