My husband & I stayed here for 2 weeks(April 8-24 2009). I can't say enough good things about the house, the village or the info provided by Peter. It is comfortable for a couple with 2 young children. We rented the house, not the studio which we never saw even though it is attached. It is a separate apartment. The house has magnificient views from the terrace to the lovely perched village of Bonnieux where we did most of our grocery shopping. It is well suplied with everything you need including lots of crockware, dishwasher & dryer as well as many pamphlets. If like us you need to spend time indoors because of poor wather, you can listen to many of the cds of 60's music, read the books in the library & look at at the splendid views from your window. It was very clean & had a good supply of linnen & towels. A word of caution, it is a steep climb on cobblestones to the house & one must park down below. While we always found parking, as the seasons progresses, it might become a chore. There is a small boulangerie & grocery store in the village but you must go elsewhere to really stock up. Also no evening meals at the time we were there(April) but Bonnieux & Apt or only a few minutes drive away. As soon as we agreed to rent the house, Peter sent detailed explanations & was also quick to ereply to any enquiries I had. It's a beautiful area & we are hoping to return next year. |

| My husband and I stayed at your lovely home this May. The house was as comfortable as you described, and the view across the valley was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. The location was perfect for day trips to Bonnieux, Gourdes, Rousillon, Menerbes, Avignon, Arles and Aix-en-Provence. |

We have just returned home from our trip to Provence and other parts of Europe. We ABSOLUTELY LOVED your wonderful home in Lacoste. It was perfect for our family. The views were picturesque, the house was very comfortable, and the owners' manager is lovely and even helped us to find an emergency dental appointment. We will definitely return to Lacoste and the Luberon and hope again to stay at La Tour de Babel. We will treasure our memories of our stay in your beautiful home. Thank you so much!

Having just returned from a wonderful vacation in the Luberon Valley, I felt I should leave a few words here endorsing "La Tour de Babel." This, quite simply, is a phenomenal rental. The town is lovely and quiet, the neighbors friendly and welcoming. In the evenings, we went to bed with fresh air flowing through the windows. In the mornings, we awoke to a fresh breeze and a view across the valley to neighboring Bonnieux. Another big plus is the ease with which one can get to other towns (Bonnieux, Goult, Rousillon), cities (Apt, Avignon) and wineries (particularly Girod!). In short, it was everything I hoped for and more for a relaxing and refreshing holiday. The owners' gracious hospitality made this an easy rental process to boot.
It was far better than a hotel and much more comfortable. It is rare to walk into a new place and feel at home. To see and enjoy the Provencal countryside, this property merits strong consideration. Can you tell we enjoyed ourselves greatly? |
