| We just got back from spending the weekend at "The bird's nest" and had the most wonderful time! The owners are very organized and lay out everything you need to know about how to get there and what to do when you're there. We went with another couple and we all agreed the home is so beautiful. We can't wait to plan another trip next year! |

| Great House. Perfect set up for a couples getaway. We had 3 couples for the weekend. Great that each had privacy of own floor and private bath. Common areas were great for the social times. Beds were very comfortable. Well equipped. Would choose again! |

| Thank you Steve and Maria for a wonderful stay at The Bird's Nest. The house was perfect. The New Year's was a memorable one. Loved the nature trails, the amenities of the house, and your prompt attention to details. Will definitely stay with you again. |

| We just returned from a long weekend with another couple at the Bird Nest. Remarkable! Quiet, charming, the perfect home away from home. From hiking in the morning to stargazing at night it was a special place. We will definitely return in the future...Thank you Steve and Maria for a beautiful weekend! |

| We stayed at the Bird's Nest for a long weekend as 3 couples. It was great, plenty of bedrooms and baths to accomodate us. One evening we saw a couple of adult wild turkeys and 5 or 6 chicks. The next morning we saw a parade of 11 turkeys walk right up the driveway. We definitely plan to come back. I can only imagine how nice it would be in the wintertime. |

| We stayed at the Bird's Nest the first weekend in June and were very pleased with the location, the layout of the home, and the accomodations (comfy beds and plenty of bathrooms!). While washing dishes one night, I looked out the window and spotted a deer walking through the woods- now how cool is that?!? We will definitely be returning. |

| May 30, 2008 Steve and Maria have created a delightful retreat with great attention given to every comfort and convenience. The furnishings are lovely, the beds are very comfortable, and it was a fabulous home away from home. It is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The birds, turkey, and other wildlife are just an extra bonus! |

| My two girlfriends and I celebrated our 50th birthday year by going to Galena for a few days. The Bird's Nest was perfect! We each had our own bedroom and bath, the house was clean and very comfortable and only a 10-15 minute drive from the heart of Galena. We spent our days hiking, shopping and sight seeing, and our evenings talking, drinking wine and playing board games in front of the fire. Why would you want to stay anywhere else? |

| We have stayed at The Birds Nest on 3 separate occasions, and have yet to be dissappointed. It is a private, quiet location, but still close to everything Galena has to offer. The house is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities one could ask for. We will definitely stay here again! |

Our group was two couples and a single and we were extremely comfortable in this quiet house. We couldn't have asked for anything more. I'm looking forward a return visit. Thanks. |

| I would like to thank you for letting us stayed at this place. We had very relaxing time and we really enjoyed staying at your sweet home. That is a great place that I would highly recommend to everyone. If you are the kind of person that would like to be busy by doing a lot you can and if you just want to lie dawn and regenerate your self you will be thankful for that place that exist. THANK YOU!!! |

My cousin and I took our Mother's to Galena May 11 - 15, 2006, for Mother's Day. We chose the Bird's Nest for our retreat and were very pleased!! It is a beautiful setting and the home is immaculate and well stocked! We took a wonderful bird hike, the Trolly tour of Galena, toured Grant's Mansion and enjoyed a 2-hour ride on the "Spirit of Dubuque" paddleboat for Mother's Day Brunch. We were constantly trying to identify the birds that would arrive at the many feeders available. We would recommend The Bird's Nest for a special get-away! |

We were priviledged to stay at the Bird's Nest the weekend of February 10-12, 2006. This is a beautiful home, very clean, cozy with every amenity possible. I would highly recommend booking this rental and the owners are very accommodating and nice people to work with. We hope to return very soon. |

| We gathered at the Bird's Nest over Christmas, 2005 for five wonderful days. When we arrived, twinkling lights on the tree and screened-in porch welcomed us. We knew then that we were going to feel at home--and we did. We enjoyed all the extras the house provided for cooking and entertaining and sleeping. We also enjoyed all the extras the outside provided--making snowmen, sledding, hiking, and exploring (woods and Galena!) We are definitely coming back to this beautiful home away from home. |

My wife and I spent a week here for our honeymoon in October. It was beautiful and very appropriately named. The trees around the home are populated by a number of birds who enjoy the many bird feeders hung outside the windows. We saw a number of wild turkeys running around too.
The house was very comfortable and clean. We took a few short trips (House on the Rock, antique shops in the area) but the best times were spent in front of the stone fireplace, grilling on the deck and relaxing in the Jacuzzi tub. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed (including spices) to prepare some nice meals. The home entertainment system was also fun but unusually we were entertained enough just paging through the books and magazines in the home. |
