Dear David & Karen:
We want to thank you again for everything you did to make our trip to San Francisco so special. We enjoyed our stay so much at your lovely apartment. It was truly our home away from home for a week. The fresh flowers were beautiful and we enjoyed watching new blooms open each day. The wine and fruit were also wonderful. We appreciated all of the great information and books provided in the apartment and enjoyed looking through them each night in front of the fireplace. The location of the apartment was perfect and it was easy to go all over the city by bus. We really enjoyed returning in the evening to our neighborhood shops, restaurants, and "Ben & Jerry's" just out the door. We were a little concerned that the location might be noisy, but it was very peaceful and truly an oasis in the city! We will definitely stay again if we are fortunate enough to be able to return to San Francisco!

We absolutely loved the apartment. And, I was so pleased to finally
meet you. Emily had already told us you were handsome and charming, but when she told us you said our grand daughter was beautiful, I
knew you were a wonderful guy! We, of course want to stay with you whenever we are in San Francisco. We are now trying to co-ordinate
a trip now for next year with our special daughter who is a national
rep. She's trying to set a national sales
meeting in San Francisco. Of course we'll be working with you as
soon as she gives us a date. Until then, stay healthy, along with
your dear wife, who keeps the apartment pin-clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Thanks to her care, we felt like we were at home.

| This flat is lovely. It was nice to have some room to spread out instead of being cramped in a hotel room. It was alittle distance from alot of the touristy attractions but once we got the hang of the bus system it was fine. The fruit at the local market was unbelieveable and worth the stay there in and of itself. Mr Crommie was very helpful- in fact when he felt he had given us the wrong amount of time to reach Fishermans Wharf where we had a tour planned, he personally drove us there and along the way gave us a mini tour. We had fun when he drove us down Lombard st- the crookest street in the world. |

The accommodations you provided were better than we could have imagined. The location, the lodging, your style as hosts, have all been perfect. | The pleasure was all ours! Such a beautiful unit and a great location. It was wonderful to be able to return to our beautiful apartment with our son and his girlfriend to discuss his sustainability event at Golden Gate Park and other "weighty" issues over wine and cheese. I can see why you are booked so consistently. It made our visit to The Haight fantastic. |

| I loved the apartment and have recommended it to several friends. Great location, quiet, roomy, well-appointed, and full of character. | We stayed here in Nov 2007 with our 8 month old and it loved it! Wonderful, warm, welcoming apartment with many nice touches. We especially loved the fireplace and the many fluffy towels provided. The owners are very hospitable and everything is as it states in the listing. We even rented the second bedroom for a few night for Grandma and she was very happy as well! |

We stayed 9 days at 626 Ashbury Street. We really apppreciated the nice welcoming of the owners and this comfortable, charm, very clean and quiet place; We have been pleased to find such a nice place after a long flight.
We also enjoyed the Internet access which gave us the opportunity to stay in contact with our friends and family in France, to find more informations about SF and to book some activities (moreover there're some very interesting books in the living room).

The past month of August I´ve been with my family 10 days in that wonderful city of San Francisco. Our stay has been a true delight, of a very important way has influenced to have been lodged at this beautiful house. The house is very comfortable, perfectly equipped and decorated with an exquisite taste.
Only to throw the amiability demonstrated by its owners, Karen and David. Their efforts make of the stay an authentic pleasure. Their welcome and of course the help that they always give to you, are fantastic, all these details make of the stay a wonder. It would fantastic return soon and I´m pretty sure we would repeat this perfect experience.

We traveled to San Francisco with our 20-year-old daughter and choose 626 Asbury for its prime location in the heart of Haight Asbury. While the area was alive with activity, easy access to restaurants, shopping and public transportation, the flat offered a refuge from it all. It was spacious, immaculate and surprisingly quiet, given its location. David and Karen were attentive to our needs (although given the abundance of information they shared at the beginning of our stay we had little need to bother them much), and even welcomed us with a bottle of great zinfandel and fresh fruit...a nice touch! If traveling with another couple or with children, the location of the two bedrooms offers all great privacy as they are located at opposite ends of a very long hallway. The linens and bedding were first class, contributing to a great night's sleep. We highly recommend this accommodation and thank David and Karen for sharing their beautiful property with the rest of us!

Our visit to San Francisco more than lived up to expectations, and the icing on the cake was this wonderful apartment. Somehow the website description of the apartment did not do justice to what we found when we arrived. David was there to greet us and to show us the basics, fresh fruit had been thoughtfully provided and a complimentary bottle of wine kicked the holiday off to a good start.
We appreciated the spacious, spotlessly clean accommodation and all of its facilities. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay had been provided, even including blocks of smokeless fuel so that we could light the open fire when the evening turned chilly. Access to the fully-equipped laundry room was a bonus and enabled us to prepare for the next stage of our trip which was to involve ‘roughing it’ in motels! David and Karen could not have been more hospitable and, with their local knowledge, were able to point us in the direction of the best grocery markets and places to eat. They were particularly helpful to us when a family emergency arose, back in the UK, and we owe them a big vote of thanks for their concern and kindness.
Haight Ashbury was new to us, although, like most visitors, we had read up on its quirky charm. It did not disappoint and when we wanted to travel to other areas of the city there were several bus routes just a stone’s throw from the front door. Being near to shops and bus routes was certainly useful and yet there was no intrusive traffic noise in the apartment itself. Traffic noise is always the big unknown when booking holiday accommodation in a city.
If we are lucky enough to be able to visit SF in the future we would return to this apartment without any hesitation. Angela and Colin, England.

We have just returned from a great trip to San
Francisco and the surrounding area. Great town,
good food and then there is 626 Ashbury. We
could not have chosen a better place to stay or
been blessed with more gracious hosts. The
apartment was tasteful and comfortable and one
would be hardpressed to want for anything while
staying there, your hosts will make sure of that.
Cannot praise it or them enough. Look forward to
staying there again on our next trip to San
Francisco. Just in case you didn't get it, we highly

Hi David!
We have received the refund of the security deposit last Friday. We would like to thank you for your promptness.
We would also like to thank you and Karen for everything you did to make our holidays wonderful: flowers, wine and fruits at arrival. Although we arrived early, the apartment was ready and available when we came. We have found a well decorated and well furnished apartment, that is sunny in the morning and very quiet at any time. The square is easily accessible, has many markets and restaurants and it was easy to find a parking every time we had to find one. We particularly enjoyed the use of the computer with its Internet access which gave us the opportunity to stay in contact with our children and to plan our activities each day.
We have been in holidays with the same feeling and pleasure we have when we are living home. We will be pleased to recommend your apartment to anyone that would like to go to San Francisco.

What can I say about our stay? It was perfect. From the moment David Crommie agreed to our last minute booking, and escorted us up the stairs of the flat to the hallway leading from the front bedroom of the flat to the back bedroom, we were impressed. The flat was impeccably clean. There were so many special touches, from the bottle of wine waiting on the kitchen table with a corkscrew nearby, to our own nameplate on the brass plate above the doorbell. The flat is beautifully furnished, but still very homey and comfortable. We thought the original handle to open the front door for guests without having to climb up and down the stairs was very charming. David was very helpful and nice during our stay. His wife also wrote us a very nice, thoughtful note at the end of our stay. We highly recommend this rental, and would love to stay there again - soon.

We thought we were going out on a limb by renting an apartment for our honeymoon in San Francisco because, from experience, we have learned that pictures do not always show the truth. We were more than pleasantly surprised that the pictures, in fact, do not do 626 Ashbury its full justice! We arrived very tired on the morning after our wedding and found that we had absolutely made the right decision in booking the apartment. Aside from being in a very colorful & fun neighborhood, the apartment was beautifully decorated with antiques, very nice linens, and georgeous wood paneling. It was so nice to have a "home" to return to at the end of our long days exploring the city, rather than an impersonal hotel room. The Crommies were great hosts, we knew they were there if we needed them, but also that we had our privacy, and they absolutely respected that. As the Crommie's recommended to us in their very helpful book of tips, we strongly suggest The People's Cafe for breakfast, and for a night cap, Magnolia's serves very tasty beer. The apartment made our honeymoon that much more special & comfortable, and should our travels take us back to San Fran, we hope that it is available again!

| Wow. After a scary and hectic day being lost in our rental car on the streets of San Francisco, we called David who stayed on the cellphone with us until we found the apartment. He hadn't met us yet, but that didn't matter...he was such a kind and charming host. Once we entered the apartment, we were both stunned at its beauty. This restored Victorian had been beautifully decorated yet had all of the modern conveniences we rely on. To top it off, we were met with a bowl of fruit,a bottle of fantastic Californian wine and a very handy guide to travelling around the neighbourhood and city created by the Crommies. In the midst of historic and bustling Upper Haight, this spacious suite of rooms fast became our retreat. The kitchen was outfitted with everything one might need, the bed was very comfortable and the decor just made us feel as if we were in one of those expensive hotels. The location was ideal with plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby. Cabs were easy to flag down and the transit system was quite convenient. We found this apartment to be very affordable and our only regret is not getting to know the Crommies more during our stay. We can't say enough about this experience! Well we came in for my daughters wedding. It was a
wonderful place to come back to after days of
family and fun. The living room is cozy and
beautiful and the Hawaiinas had a log fire a few
cold nights. We cooked and enjoyed the beautiful
back yard,We also love the neighborhood and the

Sometimes happen that you find a couple of
landlord like David and Karen Crommie. Sometimes.
Not so often. They really care of you. You will
surprised when David, one of the dearest
gentleman I knew, will open the door of this
wonderful apartment in one of the best quarter of
San Francisco. You will be astonished when you will
talk to Karen about he delicious manners and her
gentleness. We was happy for more then 3 weeks
there. We like it a lot. And if you think that we did
everything by Internet (God Bless Craigslist) you can

From the start, our stay at 626 Ashbury was a delight. Host David Crommie met us on the porch of the beautifully-restored home he shares with his wife Karen, showed us the mailbox with our names on it, and took us up to "our" flat. The place is gorgeous!
Wonderful art and fresh flowers in every room, fascinating books and great tips on the San Francisco area, a charming wood-paneled sitting room with views out back into the wisteria-trellised garden, a fireplace, and even a computer in an unobstrusive corner.
There's a cozy eat-in kitchen, which we enjoyed for breakfasts and one carry-out dinner from a great near-by place the Crommies recommended. And how convenient to have a washer and dryer with all necessary supplies right there.
The bedroom is stunning, with huge bay windows, a charming vintage wash basin, and beautiful linens.
In short, 626 Ashbury is an exceptional rental property and made our visit to this amazing city even more special. We can't wait for a return visit! |

At the beginning of May my daughter ( a young
adult) had five wonderful nights at the 626 Ashbury
flat. The photos, as one other guest mentioned, do
not do full justice to the beautifully appointed,
completely renovated spaces. But, that was part of
the fun, because it allowed for the !Wow! take. We
have lived in San Francisco twice and visited often
usually staying at boutique hotels. It was a genuine
treat to experience the comfort of this space and
the quiet friendliness of the owners. And on the "n"
Judah, one can be dowtown at Powell & Market in
about 20 min. |

| What a wonderful oasis after a long flight - the pictures, although seductive, certainly don't come near the reality of this peaceful, beautifully furnished and spotless appartment. We had never stayed in the city proper before and with so many options, we hoped we had made the right choice of neighbourhood - again we were delighted with the mix of "funky" Haight/Ashbury charm and quiet, leafy streets with amazing architecture. Transport was a breeze but we were also able to walk to places of interest if we wanted to. Hosts were welcoming and available if needed but discreet. Couldn't reccommend it more highly! This is an absolutely perfect apartment in one of
the very best locations in town. We were welcomed
by friendly hosts and felt instantly pampered with
all the special little details. Cooking meals "at
home" was made easy with a fully stocked kitchen
and a natural market right around the corner. We
were also pleased with the accessibility to
transporation options along with nearby parks and
shops. The apartment itself is an absolute jewel. I
give it my highest recommendations and will be

| This spacious, incredible Victorian home in the heart of the Haight is simply breathtaking! The location is spectacular, the decor impeccable and the property almost impossibly quiet, bright, cheery and well kept. Every room was spotlessly clean, and beautifully furnished. Once our bags were unpacked, we felt completely relaxed and at home. No small detail has been neglected; even the pillows, luxurious towels and bed linens were top quality. The owners are warm, gracious and accommodating hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and comfort of this wonderful home. We vacation often throughout the year, and are already planning our future visits to the city around the available dates at the Haight Ashbury. Our highest recommendation possible! |

I recently had to travel to SF for business and I looked into staying in an apartment instead of a hotel. I was so lucky to have found this Victorian gem in the middle of Haight Ashbury. The apartment is beautifully restored, but by no means do you feel like you are staying in a museum. Cozy, and well appointed with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fireplace, great reading material and most importantly high speed wireless internet, this apartment seemed like home in short time.
On top of all that, the owners were super nice! Friendly, helpful and sweet. I would definitely stay here again!
