| What a wondeful home! We had two families with teenagers and everyone loved the space. I can't remember a more relaxing vacation. The location is especially great for beach access and close proximity to trails and the park. We loved it. Thanks Erin for all of your help and sharing your home. |

| We had a wonderful family vacation at this beautiful home in May. Plenty of room for 3 families. The separate house is so convenient for getting the younger ones down for the evening. The pool was a delight. This is our second trip to Kiawah and thought this home was great. Thanks to Erin for all the info and making our visit effortless. |

| We had only been home 2 weeks when my niece said "I'm ready to go back to Kiawah." The 147 Hooded Merganser exceeded our expectations! The way the home is designed was perfect for 3 families and the kitchen was the ideal gathering area. As others have mentioned, Erin is always available to answer questions and help with any need. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful home with easy beach access and wonderful pool. |

147 Hooded Merganser was perfect for our family. The house is beautifully appointed and very well maintained. The separate guest house was great for our older son and his family with three small children. Our teenage son and we enjoyed the roomy main house bedrooms. While everyone liked being together for day time fun and dining, private sleeping quarters were appreciated. All of the bathrooms are beautifully done and the showers are huge and welcoming. The large kitchen is a great gathering place and the table easily accomodated our family of seven and a baby. Speaking of the baby, the house comes equipped with a pack and play and high chair. The extra we paid for heating the pool in April was worth every penny. Even though temps. were in the 60s, no one hesitated to get in the pool - so much fun! We also enjoyed bike riding and kite flying on the beach - a short walk (7-10 min) or even shorter bike ride (5 min or less). We had never been to Kiawah before and would definitely come back. We would definitely recommend 147 Hooded Merganser.

We have vacationed at Kiawah 15 times since the early 80's with this time being the first with our daughters and their families, including three grandchildren. The Duncan's home is overall the nicest accommodation that we have rented there. It is a perfect design for multiple families with young children, as well as a great location for easy beach and bike trail access.
Erin Duncan was excellent to work with, particularly her quick responses to all questions.
We were totally satisfied with this rental. |

We took our family of eleven to Kiawah June 16th to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The island, beaches, ocean and five golf courses were beautiful but the Duncan house was perfect. It lends itself to all ages - whether it be quiet time on the screened in porch, playing games in the courtyard with the young adults, swimming in the pool, getting something to eat in the gourmet kitchen, escaping to the game room or even doing a load of wash.
Erin Duncan was just a phone call away, she was so helpful and the booklet she mailed prior to our trip had many useful suggestions. Having the bikes delivered and reserving beach chairs and umbrellas were a great convenience. Erin thinks of everything.
This is a spacious, beautifully appointed home, complete with everything one needs and more. Such luxury! We talk about our vacation but the topic always ends up about "the house", the memories linger on and we hope to return. |

| My family spent a splendid week at this lovely Kiawah home. We brought three families from across the country together for a week and our experience surpassed our expectations. The home is absolutely beautiful and could not be in a better location with proximity to the beach and bicycle trails. The layout of the home is fantastic and accomodated 3 families so easily. The guest house is ideal for gatherings for children. The courtyard pool is beautiful and the covered portico area is so comfortable and relaxing. The main house is incredible...huge kitchen with all of the amenities, spacious dining room, beautifully appointed family room, and 2 master bedrooms with fabulous baths. Not only did the grown-ups love it, but the kids did as well. We sincerely hope to be frequent return renters!!! Erin Duncan and her family are delightful to work with, making the entire experience just a great Holiday!! |

| Our family just returned from a week at the Duncan's wonderful vacation home. The home went beyond our expectations. It was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. We had 3 separate families staying in this home and we were never in each other's way. If you wanted privacy, you could find it. If everyone wanted to spend time together you could do that too. | WOW! This was our first trip to Kiawah how lucky we were to find this beautiful house. The house was perfect for our two families. Kids enjoyed games at night in the guest house while adults enjoyed some late dining and good converation in the main house. The heated pool was important for a March vacation, Kids enjoyed many afternoon and evenings in the pool. Erin was a delight to work with. We are already planning our next trip back. Enjoy!! |

Our family has been renting at Kiawah for over 20 years now, and we all agreed that 147 Hooded Merganser is by far the best property that we've ever had the pleasure to experience. The layout of the home is wonderful, with the courtyard design, separate sleeping quarters, and large, open kitchen. As others have mentioned, it was a real treat to be able to gather in the kitchen / breakfast area as we prepared meals - keeping everyone involved and not having the cook(s) isolated from the rest of the family. The home is exquisitely decorated and in immaculate condition - definitely a much higher caliber home than the typical rental property at Kiawah. The Duncan's have thought of everything in outfitting the home, with a wide selection of games, books, and DVDs in the living rooms, and plenty of dishes, pots, and utensils stocked in the gourmet kitchen. Erin was extremely helpful and responsive both before and after our stay - making sure that all our needs were met. We sincerely appreciated Erin's thoughtfulness and everything she did to make our stay pleasant and easy.
We have absolutely no reservations at all about recommending this property to other prospective guests (aside from the same concern mentioned by another guest about not wanting this "secret" to get out too far!). This home is a real treat!

We have just returned home after a week of family
vacation fun at this gorgeous home. My husband,
daughter, and I have been coming to Kiawah for
over 15 years and have stayed at many locations on
the island. I can say without reservation that this
property tops them all! You will only need your
suitcase because everything you could possibly
want is here. There were 12 of us and the layout of
the house was perfect for private or together times.
Every room was decorated beautifully with inviting
furniture and warm, restful colors. The kitchen/
morning room was one of our favorite places
gather.
I will never be able to fully express my gratitude to
Erin for all she did to make this vacation so perfect.
She is very caring and was always available before,
during, and even after our stay to make sure
everything ran smoothly. Thank you, Erin, from all
of us!
If you are seeking a beautiful home in an awesome

Dear Duncan Family,
My family and I would like to thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home. The whole family truly enjoyed themselves. The layout of the house was just wonderful. The Main House was where we all had our meals together, watched the wonderful television, played games(that you so thoughtfully had), was wonderful in the fact that at the end of the day, all of the children, and grandchildren went to the secondary home to sleep. My husband and I enjoyed our quiet time at the end of the day on the screened porch.
I can't think of one single thing about your home that wasn't just wonderful. Thanks again! Last, but not least, I would like to mention the wonderful pool. The grandchildren, especially enjoyed their time with their parents.

| We have been vacationing on Kiawah for over 10 years now, and have stayed in many homes -- 147 Hooded Merganser is second to none. Its a magnificent home, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything is top notch - including the bedding and mattresses, which many people dont think to question. I love that the pool area is so private, surrounded by trees. The kitchen is fabulous, great for cooking, and also has a great table for playing games. This is a luxury rental, great for relaxing and fun family vacation. (Ttry the key lime pie at Cindy's seafood - its fantastic!) |

When our children were still in school we vacationed on Kiawah every summer. The children loved it and we loved the peacefull atmosphere. It has been 10 years since we have been back to Kiawah. Our children are now grown and have children of their own. We decided to get everyone together this year and see how things have changed on the island. We were very blessed to have found this beautiful home. It worked perfectly for us because my daughter and son-in-law have a new baby boy. The lay out of the home made it possible for them to get up with our grand-son every two hours without disturbing anyone else. You will love the spacious rooms. The kitchen is wonderful and has everything that you will need. It was great getting up early in the morning and having our coffee on the screened in porch. The best part is the court yard where you will find beautiful flowering plants and palmetto trees and the swimming pool. This is where we spent most of our time just relaxing,reading and watching the grandchildren play. Our vacation was wonderful and we plan on returning.

This home will surpass all of your expectations!
I have rented Charleston and Hilton Heads finest homes, and the design and craftsmanship is unique to the rental market. The owners spared no expense, concentrating on the finer details of interior decorating and outfitting each room with gorgeous furniture, high-end electronics, and the finest quality in appliances.
It's a shock this is a rental property.
Oh yeh, the pool area is perfect in size and access to both homes. There is a covered area with lights/fans ideal for nighttime gatherings. The house is well-insulated too, so infants can be asleep without concern over noise regardless of time of day.
Feel free to email with questions, but feel comfortable in whatever the owners communicate as they are as wonderful as the home.

This is a beautiful website -- but the pictures don't even come close to conveying just how wonderful this home is! In addition to being one of the most gorgeous vacation homes on Kiawah Island, the owners' attention to each and every detail makes it very, very special. The kitchen alone (with its spectacular Wolf professional range) makes the trip worth it! We were even greeted with a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers!
On one hand, I hate to tell everyone how fabulous this house is (can't we keep it a closely guarded secret?!) On the other hand, if you are considering a trip to Kiawah and miss staying here, then you have really missed something very, very special!
And so -- we have already booked our two weeks for next summer!!!! |
