We had a family get-to-gether for three members celebrating birthdays in August. The house looks exactly like the pictures, so what you see is what you get. Everything was very nice. No one complained, not even the kids. They were happy to have their own floor and stayed up stairs playing. We loved everything about this house. Thanks for sharing your home on the beach. You have done an awsome job remolding this home. Were ready to come back already! |

We (the UNC Asheville Women's Soccer team) stayed at the house instead of staying in Jacksonville (where we played our games). We generally stay in hotels when we travel and either eat out or get food for the bus trip. However, this house was big enough for 19 players, two coaches and an athletic trainer to live together for three and a half days! Amazing!! We were able to cook (kitchen is very well-equipped), family style, all of our meals while we were there which was wonderful. The house is beautiful, spacious and efficiently planned. We even had a mean game of Pictionary one of the nights in the living room with much laughing and screaming! The pool table, piano, and guitar were all big hits with the team. There were big tables (inside and out) used for studying, eating, and hanging out. There were places to simply unwind all over the house. Even with 22 people, we felt that we had plenty of space. The balcony, on the second floor, became a nightly ritual for the quieter folks among us to sit and talk into the wee hours of the morning. It overlooks the ocean and was just spectacular at night. We could not be happier with our experience at the Chautauqua! It was a trip that my players, staff and I will never forget! |

| This was a wonderful beach home for a family wedding. We had five families (22 people) stay here for the entire weekend. We rented both houses and it was perfect. Everything was first class. The bathrooms are top of the line and there are enough for everybody. The bedrooms are wonderfully appointed. Even the beach furniture is top of the line. Al you need to bring is your food and a bathing suit. The only items we could not find were a pot holder and a cork screw. Highly recommended. |

What a great house! Could not have asked for a better location on the beach. We had our whole family stay for a week and felt so pampered. The house was extremely comfortable and the amenities were top notch. Anything we needed was there for us. Had a great time and would not hesitate to return. So glad that we found you...Chautauqua. | Fantastic house!! Twenty members of my family (four families) got together for a week in July 2008 to celebrate my 60th birthday. We rented the whole house and there was plenty of room for us all. My brother is a contractor who works in historic restorations. He was very impressed with the workmanship and quality of the materials in the house. The kitchen is great and worked well for cooking for a large crowd. The beach is right out the front of the house and spectacular. My son commented that this location is like being at Disneyland, you can walk to great attractions. Everything anyone could possibly need for a GREAT week at the beach was provided. Great place for a family reunion!!! |

| What a magnificent home! We had the greatest experience at Chautauqua. We rented the top 2 floors for 3 couples and 2 children, and couldn't have been happier. The view and beach are amazing. We had coffee and dinner on the porch every day, which was the epitome of Florida relaxation. My chef-sister loved the ammenities in the kitchen. The beds were super comfortable, and the upscale bathrooms made us feel like it was spa-time every morning. Another reviewer compared it to Pottery Barn, which my mother also had said. It is very close to historic St Augustine, where we went several times. I highly recommend Opus39 for fine dining there. There are also cute places just down the street (Mango Mango Grill), for take-out or a more casual dining experience (i.e. with children). My daughter still talks about wanting to go back to "the beachhouse" (she's 2), but that sums up how our entire party felt. We will definately be back! |

| This is a fabulous house on the beach! It is beautiful inside and perfectly situated on St.Augustine Beach. My family of 4 actually stayed in the first floor, which can be rented separately - and we could not have been more pleased. The friendly owners graciously allowed me to tour the top 2 floors of the Chautauqua and I was really impressed. We have stayed at a lot of homes, villas, condo in different parts of the state, country, and world and these accomodations are excellent. I must add that the kitchen was indeed fully equipped with very nice dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc. And the beds are VERY comfortable w/nice linens. Sometimes you find old towels, sheets, etc. in beach condos....not so here! Everything was fantastic! I have already recommended the Chautauqua to several people! |

| Dirk and I recently were married at the Chautuaqua. It was a memory of a lifetime. I knew it would be great, but perfect is all I can say. My friends and family all expected a "Martha Stewart goes to the beach" wedding from me. Well all I can say is that it was nicer than expected. The designer features, and creature comforts were spectacular. Linda spared no expense in making this a truely magnificent experience for all. I have several friends getting married soon, and they were extremely jealous of our accomodations. There is no hotel available to match the ambiance. The layout is perfect for large gatherings. I am a linen fanatic, and the bedding was outstanding. My now husband is a chef, and was surprised to not have to bring as many accessories, as the house had it all! Not to mention how professional we were treated. The location was outstanding and close to many attractions. Thanks again for a week we will NEVER forget. We will be spending our anniversaries here! |

I would like to echo Kathy Morton's comments. The house was wonderful. We had a family wedding in St. Augustine in December. My family and my brother's family all stayed at the house. We used both the house and the apartment. There was a total of eighteen people. We had room to spare. Our accommodations were the talk of the other wedding guests. We even had to give tours of the house to family and friends. They were all jealous that we had no ask them to stay with us. I would definitely recommend this place and would like to return under less stressful condition when I could really enjoy it. |

Hello! My name is Cathy Morton & my family just recently rented (Oct 20-23) the Chautauqua for my 60th birthday (it was a surprise)!
To say the house is wonderful, beautiful & just perfect is a vast "understatement".
We could not have had a more perfect weekend. The house looks like something out of "Pottery Barn". Every room has its own charm & the decorating was inspired. The fact that there were 3 complete suites made it so perfect for my two daughters/husbands & my husband & myself. Hopefully my son & his wife will come next time & use the bottom floor! The bathrooms were huge & stunning.
We loved the kitchen & used it a lot. We cooked a few meals & breakfast & there was nothing we needed. I've never seen a better stocked kitchen with all the extras. Did I say how beautiful the wood & granite counters were? Gorgeous!
But the best part of all this had to be the upstairs, the kids (and there were 8 of them - all ages) were in heaven with their own "party room". The TV's in each cubical were such a hit, of course that is today's kids, who can't live without them. Having their own space & away from all the adults really counted. Yes, the pool table was incredible. They are ready right now to come back (and I might add so am I)!
We've been going to St George in the panhandle for over 10 years & loved it & thought we would never find anything as perfect as that .................. well, we have. Your beach is wide & beautiful & to be right on the edge of it was fabulous. Drinking coffee on the porch, in the rockers, early in the morning, was my favorite thing to do.
We will definitely be back and next time for an entire week! Thank you for having us ...... it was the most perfect weekend in the most perfect house ................ I want to share & I am recommending it to everyone I know!
Thanks again, Cathy Morton |
