On our first trip to Blue Ridge, my husband, Buddy and I were married. We showed up, dressed in our finest,
on the steps of the County court house and asked if someone could perform a marriage ceremony. Most of the
friendly employees attended our wedding, none of whom we knew, and treated us with kindness while sharing in our
joy. Variouse members of our "Wedding party", took pictures of us during the ceremony and outside as well.
As we were leaving one of the employees told us that we were the first couple to ever just walk in and ask to
be married!
We have pictures of those generous strangers in our wedding album and cherish the memory of that day. We
stayed in an A-Frame cabin on the river and returned home, much too soon.
Thirty one years later we are here at Fisherman's paradise! We have found the people of Blue Ridge,
especially Jerry and his wife to be just as friendly and welcoming as that first visit so many years ago.
The seclusion and beauty of the cabin is far greater than we had imagined, bringing back many wonderful memories.
Thank you for such wonderful attention to detail. We ate every meal on the back porch listening to the soothing
sounds of the beautiful rushing water, with our "four legged" boys, Lance and Chase at our feet.

I visited first in July, 2009 with college friends and brought my husband, Mother, and Aunt in Sept, 2009. It is a wonderful place to relax. Sleeping with the windows open and hearing the river was wonderful. The house and grounds are great. We hope to return in the future. Thanks Mr. Taylor.

My family has rented cabins all over the Southeast and this has consistently been our favorite and the one most visited. | Seven old college buddies -- from early 1970s spent a weekend here. We expected a "Big Chill" sort of weekend. Now we laugh and say it was more like "The Waltons" -- especially since four of the women spread out in the upstairs area, just like the Walton females. The married couple got the BR on main floor and the lone male the little BR off the porch. He made a perfect John-Boy. The swing, the firepit, the rushing river gave us a sense of tranquility and conversation never lagged. An unexpected cool spell in July added to the pleasantness. We didn't get in our cars all weekend and the TV was turned on once briefly to get a little news. Being able to pick squash and beans and blueberries added to our enjoyment (and the Waltons feel). Yes, all of us intend to come back --together and with our families. The Taylors were great hosts. I highly recommend this get away. |

Although the website provided excellent details and information about the cabin, it still did not prepare the guests for the wonderful setting and atmosphere we experienced. Everything was available for everyone of all ages to make their stay so enjoyable. Thank you for a truly memorable visit. Our family looks forward to coming again.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. I fly fished the shoal while my wife lounged in the swing and read a good novel. The rainbow and brown trout were eager and plentiful. My largest was a 5 lb. Brown.
The cabin was beautiful and comfortable,

| The pictures don't do it justice. Absolutely the most memorable vacation we've taken. The cabin is 5-star perfect and has everything you need for a wonderfully, relaxful stay. | In July, we had the pleasure of staying at the Taylor's cabin. It was such a relaxing, fun time for everyone. Blueberry pancakes for breakfast EVERY morning were a must! We would highly recommend bringing a croquet set. The Taylors have a great yard to play, and we had a tournament almost every night. This brought back memories of my childhood. We also brought our boat, and the boat ramp was very convenient to the cabin. There really is no need to leave though since there is so much to do in your own back yard! The boys (including Dad) went fishing every day off the deck and rafting. Just remember about the dam releasing when rafting. Luckily our boys are older and handled the release quite well, even though it was a scare for Mom. They had a blast in the river. We had such a great time and can't wait to return! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Taylor for sharing your cabin with our family. |

| 4/26-30/06 Having a beautiful place to go in the mountains restores the mind and body, and there is no retreat better than this one. My family and I enjoyed the hot tub, sitting on the dock, and playing games. I also enjoyed watching the trout fishermen floating downstream with their smooth casting and pulling in those fish. | My family and I had the most relaxing vacation ever. Fisherman's Retreat had everything we needed. I got very good at fly fishing and caught and released numerous Rainbow and Brown trout. Everyone in my family caught fish and they were much larger than the average North Georgia trout. I can't wait till next year! |

| What a wonderful place to stay. We had a great time - my husband fished for trout and got enough for dinner. Our girls are 6 and 4 and loved the bunkbeds and the toys. It was a great place just to play. We have stay a different places over the years and this is our favorite, it kid friendly, and I didn't mind cooking in the kitchen it just beautiful. None of us wanted to leave and we can't wait to go back. |

We had a perfectly wonderful four days in your beautifully appointed "Fisherman's Retreat". We have stayed in 7 or 8 homes and cabins in Blue Ridge over the years but this is by far the best accommodations that we have had. You have a lovely touch in decorating from the little green fish marching across the master bedroom shower curtain to the imaginative combination washer/dryer bar! What a great idea. We have enjoyed Pepper - he is a sweetheart. And we appreciate your information on the rental program here in this area. We will certainly return and will tell our Monroe, Louisiana friends about your treasure on the Toccoa. Thank you.

You are blessed to own a little piece of heaven. Your home has all the comforts anyone can wish for. We loved the way you've decorated especially the little details. It really feels like you want your guests to enjoy your home as if it was theirs. We have stayed at other cabins before but nothing like this! We can't pick our favorite thing about the cabin from the river, your garden, the cozy kitchen, privacy, the swings, to the awesome king size mattress (that you never get at hotels). Our family really needed to bond a little without the distractions of everyday life. We haven't even left and we've called our family and friends to tell them that "this is the cabin to come to for relaxing and feeling at home". Thank you for sharing!

Fisherman's Retreat has previously been managed by a local agent in Blue Ridge. This management is being terminated effective January 2006 and we will now manage our home rentals thru the Vacation Rentals By Owner program. Although we never had negative comments from our guests we felt that the exceptional service we require for our guests was not being provided. For example, providing top quality toilet tissue, soaps, shampoos, linens, etc. are a must for AAAAA accomodations. If we fail to provide what you think is required, please let us know.
